G'day, and I hope you get notices for your replies ... I checked in on the Crude Brother's TH-cam site. They haven't been videoing for about a year now but they will begin again with a video in June. I joined your subscriber list with a link they had recommended for you as a great site to view, and they were right :) Anyway, I thought you might like to keep them in mind, and since I expect quite a few subscribers of yours would also be interested. You could watch and catch them up with a link when they restart their programming :) Anyway, the message they posted about the June event is on their final video from last year ... th-cam.com/video/1-zR2v3y_pM/w-d-xo.html
The Grand Mac is the same size as the normal Big Mac in the 90s. I used to be so full on that burger, now the Big Mac is tiny. Oh but McDonald's Australia say it hasn't changed in size. Yeah right! They are bigger in the US too :(
There was also the Mac Junior which was also just a premotional burger along with the Grand Mac. BUT What a lot of people don't know is that you can still get the Mac Junior and you can get it for less than half the price of what they were selling it for in the first place during the limited time premotion!! You just have to know how to get it 👌
It just came back available here in Canada. I think I’m going to try it, and add toppings to it. I know it will cost a bit more, but you might as well enjoy it.
We had this Grand Bigmac in here as well, I've ordered 2 and fused them together, man I was so full once I was done with them, no regrets, do recommend (maybe I've removed 1 bun in the process, not sure, it wasn't very recently)
I'll never get over the KFC 'hot and spicy' from the 90s. These days it should be called 'mild and bland'. Maybe the nuggets are better than the chicken pieces.
In the USA, we just buy "Thousand Island Dressing" sauce, basically Big Mac sauce, and make our own burgers. Stuff is pretty good for dipping your chicken nuggets and fries in too.
Theres a Special Burger Sauce from Coles, tastes so much like Big Mac sauce (haven't had a Big Mac for so long but decided to try it)...magically turning my homemade bugers into Big Macs lol
they are cost cutting - introduce the cheap mega grand-daddy big maccy for a small price increase, but then they go back to a smaller big mac and they remove the dehydrated onion and pickles. happens every time.
I do find that the double big macs are more dry than the normal ones. Their burgers do need to be more juicy and cheesy. The best thing about their burgers are the sauce, the patties are very bland.
I remember viv Richards, Clive Holding etc... From the West Indian cricket team in a lot of Those big Mac commercials. Real characters and great blokes.
Your review was on point GregO! We have the same flavor problem with Original and Grand Big Mac here in North Carolina. The mobile app is the way to go for saving some $$$, at Mickey D's. Keep being you and making us laugh man. Your channel rocks!
Cheers from the states happy you guys was able to try the Grand Mac. My personal favorite due to its the only Burger that kept me full...when I ordered 2. My problem is when they had them here the bread would get very soggy after a bit
In Singapore they have a new Salmon Burger called the "Hokkaido Burger". Looks good for Salmon eaters. Wonder if they will release here in Australia? Still awaiting the release of the new Veggie Burger. Not the Singapore version apparently there is a new one on the market being tested in Northern Europe.
Thumbs up Greg! that's a really big burger. by the way, Google says, there's also a 3rd burger, a smaller one, called "Mac junior", don't know if it's available everywhere, though.
I used to get mcdoubles dressed like a big Mac because I found it to be better and more condensed less bread but with the grand big Mac it seems like I have a real reason to order since your getting bigger patties that actually fill out the bun
I used to work at McDonalds and I really wanted to know how many pickles the Grand version uses. I can't believe they didn't put any pickles on either of them here!
nailed it mate, i thought the same thing when i tried the grand, did not have the big mac flavor you expect.. more sauce and an extra slice of cheese might do the trick
I miss the Grand Big Mac, 3 years later. For some reason they came with more sauce and the patties tasted better. Also the Big Mac is smaller than 30 years ago, but only the bun, it still has the same content inside.
get the grand BigMac anytime you want by asking for a double QuarterPounder with cheese, lettuce pickles and onions and 'special sauce' only. The only difference will be the center portion of the bun.
1. You should have weighed them without the packaging. You don't eat the packaging. 2. 199g vs 326g is 61% more in weight. Where did you get "probably 40%"? 3. Amount of sauce and other ingredients and construction of the burger varies wildly from store to store in my experience. 4. In Australia you get a much nicer burger by going to a local fish and chip shop. But it won't have that addictive Maccas sauce.
I had two Grand Big Macs whilst they were on sale in the UK. The first one I found not as nice as a regular Big Mac, the second one I thought was better. Yeah there should be pickles and onions. And I'm pretty sure the Grand Big Mac should have a second slice of cheese.
Please do a review of something we can't get here in the UK but I had when I was in America, its a mcdonalds mango and raspberry frappe, it had fresh cream on top and a cherry to top it off
Thanks heaps for checking it out. I'm sticking with old school big mac, nothing like old school..I subscribed because ya funny.Size matters well for my opinion..make sure the greggo burger has triple bacon Pls..cheers.
Thanks greg was having a debate with some guys who were not really up to scratch on the taste difference, they tried to say I was stupid as it is supposed to be exactly the same ingredients HOWEVER the taste is not the same this will be sure to put the debate to rest.
Greg's KitchenGrand Mac should have 2 slices of cheese not one. That is why I would go inside the store instead of drive Thru. Also when I had my Grand Mac meal at Gordon store I asked to have one cheese on top layer and one on bottom layer, I asked for no pickles. my score out of 10 is 10/10.
Big macs are the best. Ill actually have them put on extra sauce, eliminate the middle bun and put in an extra patty. They will do this if you ask. Dont forget the extra cheese.
i bought one the other day here in nz and the meat patty was only 3 inches across and paper thin. very disappointing. the meat patty used to be as wide as the buns and thicker, despite mcdonalds claims to the contrary.
It's fun to see the differences from country to country... some of that stuff never reach Italy as much as I suppose some of "our" stuff never gets to you in Auz 😊. Greetings from Rome🥰
haha here in Sweden we have a saying that goes "Smaken är som baken: Delad och ibland stinkande". That translates to: "Taste is like the arse! Split and sometimes rather stinky!" :D
I dont get how stingy they are with the lettuce and other extras considering they're free if you were to add them with the app or touch screen. This is like they accidentally dropped some on the burger.
Tried it today, tastes utter gross. Something about too much of the mac patty (butter flavour) and not enough special sauce makes it bland and a chore to finish.
It was the 70s mate. I know because I was there getting the discount (there was something like a 10 second time limit or something to win). The Grand is just a Big Mac using the Quarter Pounder (or whatever you lot call them) patties. So each patty starts before cooking the water out at 0.25 pound for a total of 0.5 pound. The regular patty is 1/10th of a pound or 0.1. So the regular Big Mac meat is 0.2 pound. I remember from my not-quite-a-year working for the clown as a lad. I did learn how to make a proper burger (by not following procedure). My mates and I (yeah, they hired the lot of us - what idiots) would make a Grand Big Mac in the 80s using the Quarter Pounder meat and about a quarter pound of cheese and pickles for our employee meals after shift. The problem with your Grand, besides the obviously missing onions and pickle work, was that whoever put it together used the Special Sauce gun for the regular so the meat and bread drowned out that flavor. It's just Thousand Island dressing with more mayo.
Haven't seen one in person but Mickey Dee's doesn't like to make new stuff just for a limited-time menu item (except maybe the McRib which is a repeat item) so would just use the QP patties. Yours might have had an overly-aggressive sear where the patties are pressed down into the griddle. Thanks for the description!
Maybe next time ask for extra sauce on the grand Big Mac. May taste a little bit better .🤞 if they get a right which normally don't..lol. or just grab the regular double Big Mac. With way more meat. And you're getting less bread.👌
Hey Grego McDonald's stole the idea for the Big Mac from Big Boy's Big Boy Burger! LOL They came out wih a doubled stack cheese burger like the Big Mac and McDonald's scooped it up. Big Boy still sells their Big Boy Burger. Great review and video! My favorite burger at McDonald's is the Big Mac and the "special sauce" is Thousand Island! TFS Greg and TC, Kelly :))
I live in Texas, back in the day..maybe 1978? I was a little kid and after our baseball game, if we won my dad would treat us to MacDonald's. They had a timer on the wall behind the counter and you have around 10 seconds to recite the ingredients in order to get a free big mag...I think you still had to pay for the fries and coke but I was so proud for saving my Dad a buck or so on that stupid burger..lol ( I dot think Ive eaten one is 40 yrs)
Grand Mac is the original size, before McDonald's downsized.
Is this true?
Is it?
The grand mac is the original big mac from the 80s before McDonald's made their portions smaller.
It's like an upgrade on your downgrade to reach a current grade equal to or greater than the previous upgrade. 😕😬😨
I think it got downsized sometime in 2010 same with quarterpounders
The GRAND Big Mac is how big I thought Big Mac's were when I was a kid. When I ordered one as an adult I thought "did these shrink???"
That’s what she said
Your gash is nasty and stinking?
So glad you're back to your fast food friday videos Grego!
spizzerspunk jjjjjjjbjnjjnjjnj
Maccas is always there when you desperately need a relatively clean toilet when you're busting to go.
lol, very important!
The problem is when you're trying to go they're still trying to clean where you're standing!

The hidden jokes man! Hahaha
The Grand Mac is the same size as the normal Big Mac in the 90s. I used to be so full on that burger, now the Big Mac is tiny. Oh but McDonald's Australia say it hasn't changed in size. Yeah right! They are bigger in the US too :(
i think you[re right
@Brett Stanton They seem to have shrunk in flavor too, they taste like practically nothing these days despite having all of the shit on it.
100% true
6:20 " That's what she said"❗ That insert never grows old ❕
We've had the "Grand Mac " here in the USA for a while, it's basically like a double quarter pounder with Big Mac toppings.
There was also the Mac Junior which was also just a premotional burger along with the Grand Mac. BUT What a lot of people don't know is that you can still get the Mac Junior and you can get it for less than half the price of what they were selling it for in the first place during the limited time premotion!! Call me crazy but I remember when the Big Mac was that “ Grand Big Mac “ size. They downsized it. Sneaky buggers 😂 we are not silly 😝
You are old
I remember being a 2 hander and sloppy as he'll. Now it looks like a 1 hander
6:25
"That's what she said"
🤣🤣😂😂😂
there were 3!!
bsems also at 1:17
and 5:26
I recon the 'Hamburgler' stole your pickle =))
Roble! roble! :P
Haha
It just came back available here in Canada. I think I’m going to try it, and add toppings to it. I know it will cost a bit more, but you might as well enjoy it.
The Grand one is probably the size that Big Macs used to be, before Maccas started shrinking all their food.
We had this Grand Bigmac in here as well, I've ordered 2 and fused them together, man I was so full once I was done with them, no regrets, do recommend (maybe I've removed 1 bun in the process, not sure, it wasn't very recently)
Lol...you really confused me because it's Thursday here. I thought I had lost a day there until I looked at my calendar.
I'd assume if you added extra sauce to the mega version it would taste somewhat better
Loving the scales up here in beautiful Cambooya.
Looks pretty good value.
Although a loaf of bread can be bought for a a dollar in places
KFC has hot and spicy chicken nuggets. 24 pieces for $10. I haven’t tried them yet but maybe you could do a review Greg 🙃
poida I bought the hot and spicy chicken pieces instead. Next time I’ll try the nuggets.
where are you getting hot n spicy nuggets at
I'll never get over the KFC 'hot and spicy' from the 90s. These days it should be called 'mild and bland'. Maybe the nuggets are better than the chicken pieces.
Joseph where are you getting the nuggets at
There''s hardly any heat in them and they lack crispiness, although the supercharged sauce helps abit taste-wise..
In the USA, we just buy "Thousand Island Dressing" sauce, basically Big Mac sauce, and make our own burgers. Stuff is pretty good for dipping your chicken nuggets and fries in too.
Theres a Special Burger Sauce from Coles, tastes so much like Big Mac sauce (haven't had a Big Mac for so long but decided to try it)...magically turning my homemade bugers into Big Macs lol
tarns22 try Thousand island sauce :)
I don't need to, I have the Sauce I've mentioned above
Damn I bought that sauce and havemt even tried it yet... Gonna make me a burger tomorow!
Coles also sell jars of the sliced Macca's pickles
The Grand Big Mac , how Big Macs used to look like...
Just found this channel love your videos. Subscribed
they are cost cutting - introduce the cheap mega grand-daddy big maccy for a small price increase, but then they go back to a smaller big mac and they remove the dehydrated onion and pickles. happens every time.
Great review, I think I'll go and get a grand Mac with extra special sauce.
Do you think it needs any other extras to truly make it a grand mac?
What a noob
My God man...
I love you so...
And you're dead right. The Grand Big Mac ratios were all out of whack.
I found the Grand Big Mac a bit dry and less of that delicious flavour. Wait for the Mac Jnr coming soon.
Steve Molloy is Australia behind or something? The mac Jr has been an gone now here as has the grand big Mac
Matt N I remember that we had the Mac Jr years ago for a limited time (I think we called it Son of Mac)
Mini mac sliders
Yeah, same here. Im waiting for the big mac sliders.....
I do find that the double big macs are more dry than the normal ones. Their burgers do need to be more juicy and cheesy. The best thing about their burgers are the sauce, the patties are very bland.

Did you guys get fresh beef quarder pounders yet?
Your review was on point GregO! We have the same flavor problem with Original and Grand Big Mac here in North Carolina. The mobile app is the way to go for saving some $$$, at Mickey D's. Keep being you and making us laugh man. Your channel rocks!

Wheres my pickles!!!! LOL check your pants. Just had to say that!!! LOL that one is for you Greg O.
Cheers from the states happy you guys was able to try the Grand Mac.
My personal favorite due to its the only Burger that kept me full...when I ordered 2. My problem is when they had them here the bread would get very soggy after a bit
Forgot the pickles. Great Sponge Bob episode.
Hi, it's toothpick, remember me? Anyway, I'm on my daughter's TH-cam. Great video grego,we all know what those scales are for haha. 😂
Did you get the limp brown lettuce with the deal?
I heard the “that’s what she said” comment at 1:08 when talking about the size of the normal Big Mac!!🤣🤣
Shut up rajesh
robin banks What’s wrong with you.
@@robinbanks1566 gtfo
Interesting. Have you tried the new fresh meat QP yet?
I ordered the grand with extra sauce, pickles and added tomato. Thing weighed a ton and cost less than 5 bucks. Took a while to eat.
YES, when I was a kid, you could recite the BIG MAC thing and get a fee world glass, I had several! YEA! Grego Cool you know this too!
In Singapore they have a new Salmon Burger called the "Hokkaido Burger". Looks good for Salmon eaters. Wonder if they will release here in Australia? Imagine being in the car next to him watching him eat two Big Macs at the same time
Lmao it would probably look like he's having the two Big Macs talk to each other
Lol
They forgot pickles
Legend says he’s still making *thats what she said* jokes to this day.
nailed it mate, i thought the same thing when i tried the grand, did not have the big mac flavor you expect.. more sauce and an extra slice of cheese might do the trick
What happened to your light in your truck greggo? Looks like you tried to change the bulb but didn’t work out lol it’s at the top
yep, that is what happened and then i lost the parts for it ;(
In California they have pickles and onions. The grandmack is delicious! Only 7.50 for whole meal here
I miss the Grand Big Mac, 3 years later.
I can’t believe I’m sitting here eating a Big Mac meal watching this!
Where abouts in Oz are you?
I've given up on Macca's as I never seem to get a hot burger unlike Hungry Jacks when it is always hot and fresh
Use to be that size years ago before downsizing.
1. You should have weighed them without the packaging. You don't eat the packaging.
2. 199g vs 326g is 61% more in weight. Where did you get "probably 40%"?

Ah, man, pickles and onions are some of the few things that McDonalds still has that have a unique and good flavour!
i know, my 2 favourite ingredients were left off :(
Grand Big Mac for a grand man🍻
NO ONIONS AND YOU ATE IT? The pickle, the onions! they make that extra special flavour :(
OMG is the grand Big Mac in Australia now? I didn't know that. I need to get that, I love Big Macs.. yum the difference in size is incredible.
Angiiiii
4:33 - Hi Greg, just curious if it was peak hour when you purchased the Mac's that day... they do get busy over there! don't blame
'em!
I had two Grand Big Macs whilst they were on sale in the UK. The first one I found not as nice as a regular Big Mac, the second one I thought was better. Yeah there should be pickles and onions. And I'm pretty sure the Grand Big Mac should have a second slice of cheese.

Always a great video Greggo!
I liked it when the brought out Son of Mac, a smaller big Mac with only one Pattie.

Just had my first grand mac. It was awesome
Thanks greg was having a debate with some guys who were not really up to scratch on the taste difference, they tried to say I was stupid as it is supposed to be exactly the same ingredients HOWEVER the taste is not the same this will be sure to put the debate to rest.
Did Steve Irwin get reincarnated into this man’s body?

Ask them to put extra sauce on the grand big mac! Hopefully they don't charge for that, but it'll make the flavor better :D Love you Grego

A grand Big Mac is worse than a regular Big Mac since you have to suffer through more of the crap if you buy the large one!

the grand big mac looks like the big mac size from the 80s
Anders Andersson Big Mac is great bud
What time is it there
Who else is watching but ain’t going to any restaurant during this Outbreak ?
they bringing back the grand mac ... get a review out
I dont get how stingy they are with the lettuce and other extras considering they're free if you were to add them with the app or touch screen. This is like they accidentally dropped some on the burger.
thanks your a champ Greg I wanted to see this big mac on youtube
In the U.K we had the grand big mag and McDonald’s have stopped doing them
awwwwwwwwwwwww
They were only for a limited time. Australia must just be a bit behind.

Tried it today, tastes utter gross. Something about too much of the mac patty (butter flavour) and not enough special sauce makes it bland and a chore to finish.
I honestly prefer Grand Big Macs they taste absolutely fine to me, like a regular Big Mac but it’s even juicier! 🍔🥰 and lasts a while 😃
4:00, you missed a good chance at " that's what she said".
The Grand Big Mac with the weights you showed is actually 62 or 63 percent bigger not 40 percent like you said

Sorry to expose you but I also exposed myself. I prefer to think of age as superior wisdom.
Maybe next time ask for extra sauce on the grand Big Mac. May taste a little bit better .🤞 if they get a right which normally don't..lol. or just grab the regular double Big Mac. With way more meat. And you're getting less bread.👌

I also always order mine without pickles so I would get along with whoever missed putting your pickles in your Big Macs 😂
