You two look so happy 😀. I plan to motorbike Vietnam soon and stumbled on your video. Thank you for the excellent quick cut to the point video. Also your music selection is sublime 🙏🏼❤️
hi..my name is Ravi. even i am planning a road trip in Feb 2020 around 20 days. are you doing the same month,if yes may be we both can do the road trip together.
Yo this was so good, glad you captured all of this footage. So many of the scenes had me laughing, those blue pants Jess was wearing before that super rainy bit had me dying, fully cultured hahaha. The elevator scene also had me tripping! Looked like a blast dude!
The architecture looks crazy in some of those city’s as well as the temple’s? If that’s the right word. That statue was massive and riding in the rain at night looked super sketchy. Can’t forget The landscape and wild animals. You did a great job on this. I enjoyed it a lot :)
AK Media there was a lot of huge Catholic Churches along with the Buddhist ones I did not get on video! You can see them from so far away! Thank you :)
What size bike is that an XR?please let me know as I want to do somthing similar in mexico.🙏 also do you know about how many miles a day you rode? I have the new xr190l and I don't have alot of confidence in it. I hope I'm wrong as I'm going to mazatlan end of April
The XR190 should be good I would not worry about the bike as long as it’s been maintained well. We rode an XR150! From town to town it wasn’t too far maybe a 200km a day. The bike had enough power for two and our bags
Did tigit supply you with all the straps, tank bag if you want, helmet, gloves etc? or did you just bring/buy them. Also, any changes to the route you took that you'd recommend? thanks!
Rolling Tones they didn’t have straps when we rented our bike but we stopped at Ben Thanh market and grabbed supplies we needed including bungee cords/straps. We bought helmets from Tigit and they were around $20 for a cheap one and upwards. I’d spend a little extra because it is your head after all. I definitely recommend riding up DT725 I believe is the route and then we headed towards the coast where the views were incredible. I definitely recommend a handle bar bag that holds your phone where you can read the GPS if you are going to use it. Just remember to cover your phone from the sun because it’ll overheat quickly I found out.
How long did it take for y'all from HCM to Hanoi? I'm trying to make a round trips in 15 days, will that be enough? Planning on heading up via the coastal route and down the West side.
Ming Seun round trip in 15 days may be possible but you would be riding long days I think. It took us maybe 17 days from south to north staying a few days in different areas.
Very nice video. Coming december 2019 I go from Hanoi to Ha Giang (loop tour) then Halong Bay and from there down south to HCM. What did you pay for the rental bike?
Richard van Kesteren have fun and ride safe :) bike rental was through tigit (they have a Hanoi office too) and it was around $400usd for the 25 ish days we had it. So about $16 a day
Question, did you cash carry? You used atm along the way? I would love to know how you manage the money side of this trip. I always want to have cash on hand but don't want to get robbed
I would not worry about getting robbed so much. I had $1,000 USD in vietnamese currency. I carried this under my shirt with a "hidden" fanny pack/waist belt. I used a lot of ATMs along the way. My bank didnt charge me any fees as long as I used an ATM with the same merchants.
im from the Philippines , im planing to ride around 1000km. that might take 3 days stright. question dear sir is how does the bike handle? any issues? should i bring a spare chain spark plug ? any tips for long rides on the honda xr150?
I had absolutely no issues other than the horn button stopped working which I got fixed at a local shop for a few dollars because it is super necessary. I only brought spare tubes with me which I did not need. The XR150 is very reliable depending on where you are getting it from. Bike handles very well for the roads in vietnam. I highly recommend it over the mopeds and scooters. There are a lot of local bike mechanics that if you should run into any issue they can help.
even i am planning for a roadtrip from Hanoi to Ho chi min or vice versa next year in Feb 2020. Do i need to obtain Vietnamese driving license for doing a road trip.
@@rabbu188 i mean dollars :) You can find a chinese Honda semi-automatic copy for $200. But I would recommend the real Honda Wave semi-automatic, which you can buy used for around $450
It definitely was enough power for us to rip around town and in the mountains as well. The total load on the bike was probably close to 330 pounds with us and 3 bags strapped to the back.
Vietnam does not recognize our licenses with that being said they will rent bikes to foreigners with a deposit and copy of their passport. Check out www.tigitmotorbikes.com/ we went through them and it was a very easy process
@@bernardlim8418 We rented it from Ho Chi Minh and returned it to their office in Hanoi. They have one in Hue I believe. What a beautiful couple, great experience, to be able to bike through Vietnam.

These are very reliable and there is a good amount of shops throughout the normal routes that can service them if anything does happen.
