Steve Carell really HAS achieved the level of legitimate, serious and proper actor. I mean his British accent is honed to flawlessness. Dude genuinely friggin DISAPPEARS into the characters he plays.
@@XX2Media 'Not even remotely famous,' he said, of the two people who had been in a TV show on ABC. Also, 'The Daily Show with Craig Kilborn' was a popular, successful show. You may disagree, but the fact that the show continued with a new host strictly implies the show was popular when Craig left; popular enough to take a risk with a new host. I love Jon, but you're just wrong.
@@zaphodthegrate I don't necessarily believe I am wrong, but I do see your point. I actually enjoyed Craig Kilborn before Jon took over. A show does not look for a new host unless that show is important enough to merit a change and I appreciate you bringing that up. (Oh, and Rodney Carrington actually had his own ABC show. Beyond his core fanbase, who really knows who he is?) That said, their familiarity in pop culture was simply non-existent until after Jon took over the show. Not to mention the most fun times Colbert prefers to remember are the Jon Stewart years. I fully believe there is a reason for this and it's not just happenstance.
My theory is that they started off with a wig with bangs and decided they couldn't subject the world to that horror again, so they made him Steve instead.
I'm crying...I really crying... ... My Mom introduced me to these guys when I was a teenager...she passed away...and NEVER in my life have I been so grateful in these times for that decision...
Thank god for Jon Batiste. Without him, I would have never known Jon Batiste was there. Or how AWESOME his contribution to the show is, seeing as how his mic is always on so he can contribute with insightful remarks like "yeah", "uh huh" or of course (and who could ever forget it) his signature line "OHHHHH DDDDOOOOOOOOLLYYYYYYYY" in full voice for a solid minute.
This sketch was great, if messy. All the jokes about Steve Carell were solid, and they seem like ones said in good faith he would have also agreed to. And that 'liberal agenda' joke literally can't be nitpicked by the pedantic conservatives. None of their screaming man-child radio hosts is capable of being self-aware in such a way.
If in a couple decades they for some reason made a biopic about Steve Carell, I would want John Oliver to play him. All. the. way. through. Also fake poster for the 40 year old virgin with John Oliver photoshopped in instead of the original with Steve Carell makes my month!
Everyone on this show is such a talent. I'm so glad they've all come as far as they have. But fuck, I wish Cordry would get his due. IMO the funniest of them all.
This made me nostalgic for the Colbert Report. those were my college years 2005-2015. makes me want to go back to college too, maybe I'll go for my masters now.
Steve Carell really HAS achieved the level of legitimate, serious and proper actor. I mean his British accent is honed to flawlessness. Dude genuinely friggin DISAPPEARS into the characters he plays.
And John Oliver is doing groundbreaking reporting and making it palatable to a wide audience.
Steve Carell was great in this.
He said all of his old catchphrases!
Hahahaha classic Steve!
That's my Brick. My sweet Brick.
i LOVE LAMP
LOUD NOISES!!!
I think the real story is Jon Stewart's eye for talent. My God.
Some of those correspondents actually were on the show before Jon. Stephen and Steve both were for sure.
@Blue Steel yet neither one of them had even become remotely famous until Jon took over in 1999. Stewart was the catalyst that made it all work.

Except Samantha Bee. She is awful.
Thank you Jon Stewart for these legends
John Oliver, Jon Stewart & Stephen Colbert all in one Video? OMG OMG OMG
Sam Masghati John Oliver was there? I only saw Steve Carrell, who spoke with such a terrible British accent...
This was almost as good as when Sean Hannity let America know he watched The Daily Show
"Just arch your eyebrow or something", always loved the eyebrow thing, haha
For the first 50 years of my life, the only person I'd seen do that was my Dad. Then Stephen Colbert entered my life. It was confusing at first...
I like how John Oliver is the only one not wearing anything different.
vengeance1701 john oliver? you mean steve carell?
That's Steve Carell!!!
John Oliver? Where? I only see Steve Carell.
My theory is that they started off with a wig with bangs and decided they couldn't subject the world to that horror again, so they made him Steve instead.
It's great to see "proud father" Jon Stewart having so much fun.
That "40-Year-Old Virgin" poster with John Oliver's face on it at 3:55 just made my day
JoeFrangiflutty I noticed that after reading your comment 😂
Good eye!!!
How on Steve Carell's smooth chest did you notice that?!
Your observation skills are unreal
wow good eye, hilarious!
Stewart's a motherfuckin' Legend.
Karan Jetley *Indeed
I'm crying...I really crying...
...
My Mom introduced me to these guys when I was a teenager...she passed away...and NEVER in my life have I been so grateful in these times for that decision...
That's amazing and I am sorry for your loss
Oh look, it's British Milhouse...
His self deprecation improves with every episode. I love him so much.
I see what you did there :)
why would you say that.....
Dude that's Steve Carrell.
How can I possibly sleep when they release these delicious clips at this ungodly hour
Move to Canada here, where it's released at a reasonable hour, lol
I'm actually in Canada rn lol
Imagine a show with all of them together. They should at least do one season. I'd watch those episodes forever and wouldn't need my TV ever again.
I cried throughout this entire episode... I love all of them so much!
Shout Out to my South Asians- India, Pakistan, Bangladesh. We never could've enjoyed the legends of John Stewart if it wasn't for TH-cam
Shout out from Bangladesh bruv❤️
Rizvi Redwan true brother.....shoutout from India.
Shout out from Pakistan, too true.
wait really? o:
From India bro..
That yogurt was for Janice in accounting!!!! 😂
KumoriRaven k OK hi o
Steve Carrell, now with sexy British accent. Order yours now!!!
God.. Its blinding.. Too much of awesome in a single frame..
They should have given john Oliver his fringe tbh
but he was being Steve Carell....
Claire Crooks I suppose but still, john's hair deserves a spotlight
Ella Zahra it was pretty special :D there was so much here to love!
Where was John? You mean Steve Carrell practicing his English accent?
Ella Zahra o
Avengers Assemble vibes
Avengers have nothing on this.
David Brick epically on point :-)
Need to defeat that Orange Skull somehow.
Really? I'm getting Don't hug me I'm scared vibes just from the set. :/
Nick DeMarco If the Avengers were puppets on DHMIS
i never clicked so fast in my life. all my favs together... what is life
literally same
Baby don't hurt me. Don't hurt me. N o m o r e
gabby Baby don't hurt me.
All my favs too!!!! God I miss Jon. I really hope they never age so that I can watch their show like forever
gabby I clicked so hard my thumb went through my phone.
I like how Stephen says jokingly that no one has aged a day, but he's not even wrong: all of them fantastic.
In 40 years, we'll remember these guys with tears in the voice, thinking that these were the best thing television had to offer in the years 2000.
This was so perfectly self-referential and meta and glorious. Thank you for getting everyone together for this bit.
These people are a gift to the world
You gentleman and lady are such incredible people. Thank you for the joy you bring us and have brought us for many years.
I'm convinced this is their way of saying "congratulations for still being in America after 100+ days"
WOW
Stephen Colbert, John Oliver, Trevor Noah.. Stars now from having been small parts previously at The Daily Show!
No small parts, only small correspondents.
And correspondents with small shameful parts.
Trevor Noah was never a correspondent. Nor is he in this clip.
he was the international correspondent...
Gabriel Gossett Sure he was. And he's an example of one who went on to greater things, like hosting the show. Reading is not your strong suit?
So many of these great actors and hosts got their break on The Daily Show. What an amazing platform.
I love how Stephen is low-key putting office supplies and other things into his box 😂
DREAM TEAM! The costume department really dug deep for those wigs.
I love how it’s set in 2005 yet they’re all dressed like it’s the early 90’s
We need moar of these 'flashbacks'.
The talent on that show... miraculous!
Steve Carell really can play any role. His John Oliver impression was on point!
too bad john Oliver couldn't make it , might have been busy with his show about socks ,
mr dinkleberg no the show is about puppies, sloths, and dancing zebras of Bolivia! Get it right! Lol jk
@@AmethystEyes Also hamsters in Speedos and civil forfeiture, don't forget that.
Love how Oliver and Stewart are getting biggest applause
"Has anyone seen my yogurt?"
John Oliver: Has anyone seen my yoghurt?
Utkarsh Singh Janice in accounting ate it!
Is mindblowing the ammount of talent this show had.
I can die happy now
Last time I was early, Donald Trump made a cameo in Home Alone 2
Last time I was this early Donald Trump made a cameo grabbing women's pussies
Wow, 25 years ago?
Your stamina must be godly by now!
I never quite realized what a success machine that show was. It's like it did in the 00s what SNL did in the 90s.
Mid 00s nostalgia? Thanks Stephen, now I feel really old all of a sudden....
Shot like SNL gold!
This was perfect.
My god I wish these guys could all do a show together again.
This is got to be one of the best comedy bits ever
Am I crying??
Naw I'm just chopping onions for some tacos. Want one?
Sure, give me some tacos and more Daily Show reunion please.
Here ya go buddy
This is gold!! Plz y'all need to get together more often !!😭🙌🏽
Stewart: Hey, John Oliver, what films have you been in!
Oliver: *stares blankly into space, shudders*
What a terrific group of people.
Too much comedic genius in one place ❤
Legends.
It took until 2:44 until I realised that black bit on Stephen’s chin was facial hair and not a mic 😂
They start dancing and Oliver stands there, clapping. 😂
The flashback was almost believable until John Oliver appeared without bangs
mia guzina That's Steve Carrell
Absolutely legendary lineup - what a time to be alive
These were the best 7 minutes I have had this year.
Sam Bee's timing always on point!
So many legends of late night shows in one video 😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍😍
I don't think I've ever clicked on a video so fast in my life
If you look closely it almost feels like its NOT Steve Carell
What are you talking about that is Steve Carell
It's 2005 and Stephen Colbert wears an Apple Watch :D lovin it!
"Summer of 2005" emo flashbacks
The Daily Show: the show that launched dozens of legendary comedy careers.
Steve with his apple watch haha classic 2005 😂
I'm in late night heaven!!!
If in a couple decades they for some reason made a biopic about Steve Carell, I would want John Oliver to play him. All. the. way. through. Also fake poster for the 40 year old virgin with John Oliver photoshopped in instead of the original with Steve Carell makes my month!
"Trucker hats are cool"
Ha ha ha! Oh, 2005 was a crazy time.
So many of my heroes at once.
My soul has been cleansed.
Notice how Oliver and Stewart got the loudest cheers? Haha
I remember watching John Oliver on The Daily Show not knowing how big and influential he'll be in the future.
Fucking amazing.
I don't remember the last time I was this happy.
Knowing what fanny means in Jon Oliver’s native tongue makes it funnier
Rob Cordry was a savage correspondent
Everyone on this show is such a talent. I'm so glad they've all come as far as they have. But fuck, I wish Cordry would get his due. IMO the funniest of them all.
Ahh 2005. What a flashback. Nothing has changed.
Steve Carrel has an uncanny resemblance to John Oliver! 🤔😂
i love these guys... they make the madness bearable 😄
Rob kinda looks like Greg Proops
This made me nostalgic for the Colbert Report. those were my college years 2005-2015. makes me want to go back to college too, maybe I'll go for my masters now.
Is it that me, or has Steve Carell aged so much that he lost most of his hair, and is now speaking in tongues?
Truely the MOST ambitious crossover event
"Jon Baptiste and Stay Hu-"
"AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHH!"
Everything about this sketch was perfect
A room full of future legends.
If the comedy Olympics needed the dream team this would be it.
Stephen Colbert, Jon Stewart, and Steve Carell all in one video!!
When Rob tells everyone to shut the fuck up. Priceless. It's like every character he plays in his movies.
3:20 john oliver looking exactly the same 🤣🤣🤣
Gosh how I miss these guys together !!! Jon come back !!!
That's a really good Greg Proops cosplay, Rob.
GOOOOOOO LIBERAL AGENDA!!! 😂😂😂
This is a fantastic sketch. It certainly trumps most of SNL.
They are so adorable.
steve carell's dance moves are unparalleled
