My Dad is 87 years old and I have been trying to help him stay fit. He has sciatica and that is what has started the decline to his health. I told him about your videos and he started doing them. He is feeling much better and is already starting to walk better! I can't wait to see the results over the next couple of weeks! Thank you so much it means a lot.

I've had these sciatica for several years. It is in my left side and runs all the way down my leg. I've tried pain killers and rubs. Also been getting Chiropractor adjustment since April. It got a lot better for awhile but is now back. Will this plan help me?

I am a 75 year old male. I have always been active. I am a dyi’er, and gardener. Three weeks ago I had my first, ever, sciatic nerve pain. I haven’t been able to get better doing some stretches others told me about. I started looking at your vlog this morning and after doing them, I can feel the improvement. I will continue doing these stretches, it will continue looking at all your other videos and incorporate the stretches you show into a regular morning routine. Thank you ever so much.

I will try these stretches/exercises as soon as I get home. I have been suffering from sciatic pain/nerve pain for 3 months now. I’ve been going to a chiropractor, helped some, but I still have symptoms. I am starting to lose hope & I cry so much because the tingling/pain, radiates down my calves to my toes. I hope this works 🥹♥️♥️

It's so amazing that this video popped up for me today! I'm a 65 year-old woman, and I've had sciatic nerve problems for years, but yesterday I reached an all-time low. I bent over just a little to reach for something on a low shelf. I kind of felt something "give", and then found I couldn't straighten up. The pain in my lower back was horrendous. I literally had to take tiny baby steps to the recliner. Each step was excruciating, no exaggeration. Back in the day we would have said my back "went out." I was pretty much stuck there all day. By bedtime I was able to slowly make my way up to bed. It's not quite as severe today, but is still in bad shape. I'm going to try these exercises. Thank you for making them available!

I'm 65, too and in agony - had ateroid shots, pain pills that don't even work, so anxious to try this because the only time my hip/leg isn't hurting like it's broken is if I can get to sleep! Good luck! I'm hopeful these will work!

I've been doing these exercises for one week and the difference is amazing. I've also been seeing a great chiropractor. This video will help people with degenerative lower spine as long as they take this seriously and follow through.

    • @gtssage
      @gtssage ปีที่แล้ว +1

@@kathybates1751 I've stopped using my chiropractor because I didn't like what they were telling me. Red flag #1 - they didn't recommend me seeing a physical therapist. Red flag #2 - they wanted me to use some stretching table that was not covered by insurance.
I figured out that my sciatica pain was due to tight hamstrings (causes imbalances that tug on lower back muscles and ligaments) and as soon as I started stretching them...boom! No more sciatica!
Everyone's situation is different and requires a different approach.
      Best of luck and health.

I have stenosis (L5-S1, creeping up to L4 now). Diagnosed in 2008ish when I was roughly 36. Thanks for explaining what it is! You did better at explaining it than some of the medical professionals I have had over the years.
These are great stretches. I have back stretches to do every day (given by PT) but sometimes they are not enough, especially on days when the sciatica (or "not sciatica" as I call it because it's not a true sciatica) hurting more than usual, which is what got me to find this video. I do morning yoga every day when I wake up. My doctors (spine, chiro and GP) like that I'm so into yoga since it helps so much.

I'm in my early 50s and have been diagnosed with a thinned disc a few years ago after recovering from a few slipped discs in the past and recently have been struggling to manage the back pain and sciatica. My physio therapist has told me my right leg and pelvis is very weak compared to my left and his strengthening program wasn't really helping as quick as I would like, but these exercises have really helped. I can stand up for longer now and walking appears less painful after a while. Jared you are a star!

Will keep it up and move onto the strengthening excercises when the flare up has completely subsided. Been slacking on that and this is the result.

Hello thank you so much. These exercises helped me a lot with my sciatica. I had been sitting in the airplane for almost 8 hrs and after a few days I can’t barely walk because of the pain on my left leg, and I was afraid that it might be stenosis again.Had a spinal fusion in 2007 and 2015, lumbar vertebrae. Now I’m fine and walking. God bless

Thank you so much for the best explanation of the cases and pain related to those cases.
Can you please make a video for those who are maintaining their siatica due to disc disgreneration and stenosis for last 20 years . I am dealing with this tingling from 22 years of my age and now I am 45 years old. By doing exercises , I have kept myself very active n strong too. Sometimes due to some activities like running or playing , I do flare my tingling in legs , pain in hips / buttocks or keens. At that point I slow down a bit , do some mindful stretching n exercises shown by you snd again m good to go. I feel that my core is stronger than before and I want to keep myself active n fit always.
I love being active . Can you please make video on how to maintain these problems for long term and how to keep onself very active with these problem . In my opinion no pain can stop us if our will to be healthy is stronger !!
    Please help. 🙏

Thank you so much! I created this pain, because I was no longer able to get PT, because of lock down.. I developed hip flexor spasms which were themselves secondary to another injury. I got so frustrated that I did a really aggressive Pigeon Pose, and wham!
Now that I am seeing my PT again, and have so many other problems, I think this got misdiagnosed. Obviously, stenosis is not something you create doing one aggressive stretch. But the pain is from irritating the nerve, not from the stenosis itself, right?
Especially now, people really need this kind of information. Thank you so much for giving the public access to this kind of differential diagnosis. As soon as you covered that, I knew exactly what caused this pain.
I have spent years trying to correct a posterior pelvic tilt, using the work of Katy Bowman, so I have been really frustrated by the fact that tilting anteriorly makes this particular pain worse. But now I get it. I am so grateful!

During the first set of exercises my lumbar at rest could reproduce audible back cracking sounds with tiny supine arches..sadly..yet much relief as I progressed completing ea stretch as advised. Clearly immediate improvement. Obviously this needs to be at least a QOD performance. A result after 40 years of extreme sports.
Such a handsome couple. I love PTs having worked with them during my career as an RN.
    Thanks so much.

Hello. I would like to thank you for all the hard work you put into these very informative and helpful videos. I have got :
. Diffuse disc bulge noted at L3/4 level indenting the thecal sac causing bilateral neural foraminal stenosis and abuts the bilateral traversing nerve roots.
Diffuse disc bulge noted at L4/5 level indenting the thecal sac.
Mild disc height reduction noted at L5/S1 level.
Asymmetrical disc bulge noted at L5/S1 level with annular tear and posterocentral and para central foraminal disc component indenting the thecal sac causing right neural foraminal stenosis and impinges the right traversing nerve roots.
What set of exercises would you recommend? At present I don't have any radiating pain. I just experience some stiffness in the morning and some lumbar region soreness from sitting for prolonged period. Hope to hear from you soon. Thank you again.

Hello. Thank you very much for helping us to feel better. I just watched your video about the exercises for degenerative spinal changes and I wonder if there is anything else we can do to improve our condition. I have been suffering from a chronic back pain for the past 20 years. It started from a slightly bulging disk L4-L5 and as of today I have a multiple herniations at the lower back with a degenerative changes at one level. I have been experiencing bilateral radiation starting most of the time from my knees towards my feet. The pain alternates. I have been doing your exercises for a week and I feel better afterwards. When I get up in the morning, the pain comes back. I don’t want to go for any major surgery and I have been trying to find anything that will help me to get through the day. I did the physical therapy for a while but it didn’t seem to work. I was doing the exercises that actually messed up side of my hip and had to stop. I am looking for an advice from you as a professional . Thank you very much for all your help.

I am totally onto what I just learned hear and will be watching this vid a number of times. Went to my chiropractor and correctly diagnosed my spinal canal stenosis and gave me some exercises to do but I now have a so much better understanding after all these years of what is really at play to help myself. This makes so much sense. I have sciatica only on my right calf and wear a compression hose which does the trick but I'm thinking the exercises above will really help. I also take a powdered callogen peptide supplement. Just a couple months in on the callogen but it can't hurt.
