I understand these are at 1080p, but can we get this exact same test at 4K with a 3090FE? Will it at all make a difference at that point which processor I use?
At 4k, it's effectively running a GPU benchmark. The processorb almost never makes a significant difference. 1080p allows better distinction between processors
But that's the type of information we would like. Since the results are the very similar at 4K, within 1-2% framerate with the 9900x and 9800x3d, then it would make sense to not buy the x3d card as it is currently $140 more expensive than the 9900x (in Canada). That money is much better put towards a better GPU.
@BlazingDeath108 for reference, I have a 3090FE. So you're saying that you recommend buying the higher core / thread count CPU because at higher resolutions, it doesn't really matter anymore what processor I get because the GPU is taking over? I mean currently I'm running a 6700k with 32GB of ram. I like to play my games at 4K or 1440p and they seem to be running well still. Would it really be wise to upgrade?
keep doing tests at FH...
