You have to watch it a few times to really pick up on all the great humor. I happened to run across a preview of the Office on The Kids in the Hall DVD back in 99 or 2000. Decided to watch it and really enjoyed it. Ricky is so funny in it.

Mike Myers pretty much nails the Scottish accent (sure, he's Canadian and his parents were Brits... but still) But anyway, there are many Brits who can't do a convincing American accent... Daniel Craig, Gerard Butler, David Tennant, etc. come to mind.

Not to mention the people in this skit are comedians first and actors second. They spend their time writing jokes and skits not practicing accents like a lot of normal actors do.
Wouldn't go that far but the US version while blunt isn't nearly as cynical as the UK version, there is always something upbeat hidden in the US version, a silver lining, you never just watch to see the cast suffer, you watch to see them progress.

Well, this is also most reminiscent of the US version of the office. The Jello scene is taken directly from one of the first episodes of the US version.
They were so true to the style of the Office, I've never watched the BBC original series, but I loved the American Adaptation so & SNL was truthfully spot on lmao!😂😂😂 Also Kate is so corky & adorable.
You should watch the original. It's relatively short compared to the American version; it's only 12 episodes and a Christmas special. Still, the UK version is my favorite.

You should watch the original. It's relatively short compared to the American version; it's only 12 episodes and a Christmas special. Still, the UK version is my favorite.
