Absolutely correct as a lawyer i say that knowledge is your weapons and the art of using it in war which is problems jointly called as intelligence its called debugging a problem because there is always a better solution to every problem its just your mind to use intelligence and one more thing i want to add there is a very important role of observation because without proper observation you can’t figure out the root problem
Interesting video. You mentioned at the beginning that you were aiming at "first principle" thinking and a latticework of knowledge. Why do you think Physics, Biology, and Economics reflect our first principles? I'm coming from a background more colored by theology and realist metaphysics; in my opinion, the books you selected don't reflect the most general knowledge which could be applied to other subjects. I probably would have picked something like Logic rather than natural science. I'm interested in hearing your reasoning, though, if you wouldn't mind sharing.
Physics describes the Universe. Biology describes Life. Economics describes the Humanity's attempt to Allocate Scarce Resources These are just three domains we can derive first principle thoughts, but by no means are they the only three.
@amplifiedimpact you're equivocating on the meaning of first principles. First principles means irreducable principles that apply to all beings and Being in general. An example of a first principle would the principle of unity, or modal possibility for existing things, or the 10 categories used to describe any existing things, or the impossibility of contradictions. None of what you mentioned are first principles. They are simply a summary of a field of thought or theory.
You're definition of "first principles thinking" is wrong. Per Wikipedia: "a first principle is a basic proposition or assumption that cannot be deduced from any other proposition or assumption." There is no requirement for a first principle to, as you say: "apply to all beings and being in general". It need merely be internally consistent within the field for which it is applied.
Those books are great! But to change and use mental models - try to read smth about mental models :) I strongly reccomend Poors Charlie Almanac (Charlie Munger talks and esseys), and Shane Perrish Mental Model series.
Agreed. I talk about Charlie Munger in this video: th-cam.com/video/QMgKbk9LSjI/w-d-xo.htmlsi=_h0i1SoNfImGvBDF And I talk about Great Mental Models in this video: th-cam.com/video/tlpGzAzwAZY/w-d-xo.htmlsi=XDSTAeyLgQQerT7s Combined those videos have been viewed over 2M times. Hopefully a few of those people actually went out and picked up those books. :)

Since you mean intelligence instead of smarter. Maybe use that term in your title instead.
Smarter gets more clicks.
@@amplifiedimpact So you mean being dishonest. Got it!
@@donnymiddlebrook They are literally synonyms, my man.
@@amplifiedimpact A person can be smart but not intelligent. But hey, you do you and live your best life.
