Scott was a neighbor of mine in Woodstock Illinois. Very very nice guy inside and out, would do anything for anybody, and had the kindest smile. Built his own brick oven in his backyard garage, and baked bread and other full meal dishes. Amazing chef, amazing person. I was surprised to see him act like this, but I wouldn’t put it past him because he always walks in integrity.

Tommy from season nine stood up for himself, too. He even had the gall to say “Do it!” when Gordon threatened to stick his head in the oven.
Scott's point was fine, he just needs to employ more humility when dealing with Gordon - whether he's right or wrong. Rank has it's privileges, and the last thing an employee should do, particularly in PUBLIC view, is behave disrespectfully to the person in charge. Suck it up and just fix whatever the problem is in the kitchen - then address the drama later in private. Keeping cool under pressure is just as important as the cooking skills, maybe even more.

Scott has always been my favourite contestant. He genuinely wants to be on the same level as Gordon Ramsay and you can see how hard he was trying, I mean he even asked Chef Andi for 30 minutes of her time so he could ask her questions to help himself take everything better and turn it into education. He doesn't talk bad about Gordon behind his back, he doesn't try to make excuses for his mistakes, he apologizes immediately if he does something wrong and overall he's so deserving of the win for that season. He was such a sweet guy too, always going for hugs.

Programs like these ruined completely the restaurant business. Creating an army of people that after a few years started calling themselves "chefs" and because they think is ok disrespect everybody and when they don't have the team behind them they collapse. I saw very experienced chefs making 60 people a la carte by themselves with the help of a kitchen porter. No yelling, no swearing,. Just teamwork kitchen and floor. I really miss those days. Of course Gordon is qualified but many got the wrong message from watching these shows.

I’m actually glad Scott stood up for himself because yeah he messed up and he realizes that and chef is saying that he’s give it up when obviously he hasn’t. Good on your Scott you deserved to win.
