I went for the 550 over the 565. There’s a single coil in the middle which is actually really nice. Oh, and for the record, the V-8 pickup is alnico not ceramic. Mine has the same one in the bridge. It’s super hot. The ceramic one is The V7. It’s not on this guitar but, it is on the 550. Very warm and fat.
Well Ibanez finally did it. They listened to their customers and brought back a proper legendary guitar. Not a half ass attempt with the RG465, not the RG3xxv anniversary series with horrible and unforgivable body blemishes on almost every guitar. A proper Japanese remake of the RG565. Some of us have been asking for this exact guitar for quite a long time.

Slightly different neck profiles and I think the same tremolo unit. They both have their own sound and they play like a dream so it's a matter of taste after some point, which one you like most

Man I am SO excited for these. I bought a purple neon RG550 last year and it was an absolutely killer guitar for the money. Plays damn near identically to my prestige minus the stainless steel frets and heel joint. Swapped out the V7 and V8 humbuckers for a Tone Zone and PAF Joe and I have come to it almost daily ever since. If you're in the market for a guitar and you're gravitating towards an Ibanez prestige or similar guitar, I'd highly recommend checking out the genesis collection.

However, because there's so many out there that I like, I've been hesitant to pull the trigger. If your gonna do the 80s, you do it in the brightest possible colours you can buy, desert yellow, road flare red, lime green, candy pink etc. Non luminous and dark coloured guitars belong to the 90s.
I really wish MORE guitar companies would release more neon/florescent guitars. NON-trem versions would be great too. Tune-o-matic or maybe hardtail is NEEDED!

I need/want must get that orange one. I have an original 88, the 20th anniversary, and the 25th anniversary. The 25th was not to spec, it has AANJ and an Edge Zero II instead of the original Edge. I learned to play on the RG550 in 87, I love these guitars so much. The whole Genesis collection has been a dream for me. We can thank Steve Vai for the RG guitars. If he hadn't designed his Jem we would have never got here. Already for sale at the Music Zoo.
I bought an RG560 in 1988 when the Gem 777 came out. I loved the guitar and learned a lot of licks on it with that Floyd Rose, but I think because of the Wizard thin neck, it had the sustain of a ham sandwich. I bought it wholesale almost when I worked for Craig Burton's younger Brother as my Sales Manager at my music store, Syntrax in Orem, Utah. It was Craig's hobby music store he owned. He was a keyboardist and he represented Kurzweil as well back then. Craig Burton was the inventor of computer networking and Founder of Novell Networks. His wife's Son, Zwicky was my Boss on the floor. Nice quiet guy. Very generous to employees! I traded it in 1993 for an Epiphone PR-5E Acoustic cut away for busking, at a pawn shop. My next electric was a Les Paul Custom White and Gold. Guess I love tone and sustain.

Yep. I resemble that remark. Drooled over them as a kid. Idolized the Rockstars that shredded on them. Had to wait till I was 46 to get one. It was my birthday present to myself this year Got me an RG550 in road flare red and it! Is! smoking! Oh, yeah, baby, yeah!
Broke 20 when this arrived yesterday! Seriously thou you guys should have a disclaimer on all your vids warning it’s detrimental to your credit card ! Is there any medication to fix this addiction ? It didn’t come with a hard case so that’s a plus, I’m running out of room and my wife’s on to me.

I think I just made a mess in me strides,that greenish thing with the reverse headstock,that Rabea was playing was dead sexy AF,I used to have a Charvel Jackson,way back in the 90's,with a reverse h/stock,it's just a nice change & of course true to form,Ibanez never disappoint...!😁
All these new models, even from just one company, year in, year out. Are there really that many guitarists out there buying all this stuff? Do they market research any of these ideas or just go for it on inspiration alone? If so then great obviously, but would love it if a company released some stats showing how many of each model they sell in a year worldwide, just from a curiosity point of view.
I just fell in love with the sound of this guitar, but dawm... if only the color would be like the other Ibanez, I think its deep forest green like the RG5320C-DFM, or even the Dark tide blue flat (or not flat) I would buy one. But even the emerald green is just to bright for my taste. Absolutely GRRRRRRREAT guitar though.... I want one !!!!

How you gonna be an Ibanez reviewer and call it some sort of in-house floating bridge? Anyway I ordered the Orange. Really not a fan of those pickups, I'm putting a Dark Matter in the bridge and a Satch Track in the neck.
& Mr.Massaad is a beast,I love the way he smiles when he's playing,it speaks volumes about how much he is enjoying what he's doing,I can't stand it,when someone is playing,whilst looking like they just came from a funeral!!😂

One of the coolest RG's from years back. The edge trem is still the best FR style trem out there. Resisting one of these will be so hard.

When I play my rg550 it feels like my ass is on fire. Not sure why doesn’t happen with other guitars on same settings.
