    Nice to see Seawind isn't afraid to allow you to show this process. Looks good for the brand as it shows the improvements they are making as they go. Not just selling it and letting the owners keep coming back for upgrades/repairs.

      This is actually a PR boom for Seawind, they get to show all their potential customers a series of videos on the building of their boats and for potential boat owners who will see the process step by step and understand the process better.

    Kudos to Seawind for investing the time and effort to implement the tweaks necessary for making this new model a success. You guys are doing an excellent job in making all of us privy of this process.

    Nice episode. Nice to see that Seawind cares enough to pull hull one out of the water, tear her apart, and make the changes the Seawind staff found. I'm just as excited as you two to see RR2 splashed.

    Shakedown are so important, so good you had a chance to do that on hull number one. It will pay off for Ruby 2

    Buy and extra grille now. Same one ready to go. Keep it stored on the hard. $ I know, but if you use it everyday, how long will it last. Maybe replacement internals. Definitely the igniter and burners.

    Nick, I would like to see the specs on Ruby Rose II to see how you have configured your new home. For example, what are you getting for propulsion, solar panel capacity, batteries, electrics (not necessarily manufacturers, but what devices will you have), and a plan view of each level. Have you seen Ryan's (Ryan & Sophie) Dakota Lithium as a starter battery? If you have a link that covers these items, then link would be okay. Thanks for taking us on this journey, but riding the motorcycle in the city made me a bit nervous. Best, :¬) Webhead USA

    That grill has a nice thick SS grate. One design flaw is the grill is flush to the sides, it should be recessed down below the surface so food doesn't roll or slide off when you are moving things around.

    What shines through in theses videos is the quality of the craftmanship Seawind employ in building their boats and the attention to detail they give even after the build is finished. They are so lucky to have you and Tyresa document this build and show off their skills. Splash day for RR2 is getting very close, you must be very excited. Stay Safe & Fair Winds!!

    I love the concept of the hand rail in the master stateroom and I hope it's carried out throughout the yacht. The funny thing is that when you first mentioned it, I saw, in my mind's eye, the handrail and it was wood! One thing that I would have liked to have seen was the wood that surrounds and supports the matteress in the master berth would have been for a very slight, 1/4" maybe, quarter round routing of the wood. Personally, I would have liked it on both sides, but at least on the outside of the wood, where you put your legs over it.
    Other than that, I am looking forward to future updates and I hope that you have enjoyed your 'catching-up' with Terysa in Aussieland. I miss seeing her in the videos.

    My compliments both to Seawind and you! High time you went to see Terysa too! We miss her…
    However, I am VERY glad you’re being so thorough describing the tweaking that goes on after the shakedown cruise, and your preferences in the changes RR2 will have. You’re right… every boat has to meet it’s masters preferences. (Since I also like cooking, I’d also have the outside grill… 😉)

    As an Engineer I well know that design is about compromise. Getting the design 90% right is the easy bit, the rest is 90% of the effort. In the end it is the details that the user notices, the basic design concept is just taken for granted. Details matter.

    Hey Nick, Long time viewer, first-time commenter. Did you think about having the BBQ as an electric BBQ instead of LPG / propane? I have found in the Pacific sometimes it is hard to get gas. Whereas the ability to run the BBQ off your LiPO's will never go away.

    • @BilldalSWE
      @BilldalSWE ปีที่แล้ว

      More like a reason for not buying hulls #1-10(ish) in that case... As shown in the video smaller tweaks and modifications will be done on all the boats on the production line INCLUDING #1 but major stuff like tweaking the hull shape or structural elements etc obviously can't be done once a boat is already in production.

    A lot of new boats are opting for electric BBQs and induction hobs because propane is yet ANOTHER fuel source that you have to supply and store on ship. In addition to all the tools and replacement bits to keep propane working. I'm just wondering what are your thoughts on the propane vs all electric.
    personally I prefer eating and cooking on gas but can't deny the space, weight, and time savings of eliminating another fuel source.
