అప్పనపల్లి కొబ్బరిరాశిలో కాయలో కొలువైన బాలబాలాజీ స్వామి || Appanapalli Sri Bala Balaji Temple

#అప్పనపల్లి : ఈ గ్రామం పవిత్రమైన వైనతేయ నది ఒడ్డున ఉంది. ఇక్కడ శ్రీ వేంకటేశ్వర స్వామి వారు వేంచేసి ఉన్నారు. ఇక్కడి స్వామిని అప్పనపల్లి బాలాజీ అని పిలుస్తారు. ఈ క్షేత్రం కోనసీమ తిరుపతిగా ప్రసిద్ధి పొందింది. ఈ ఉరికి మూడు ప్రక్కల గోదావరి నది నాలుగవ ప్రక్క బంగాళాఖాతం ఉన్నాయి. పచ్చటి వరిచేలు, విస్తారంగా కొబ్బరి తోటలు, పనస చెట్లు, కూరగాయల మడులతో ఉన్న ఈ ప్రాంతం కోనసీమలో భాగం.
#కోనసీమ జిల్లా, మామిడికుదురు మండలానికి చెందిన గ్రామం ఈ గ్రామానికి అప్పనపల్లి అనే పేరు వాయువేగుల (నూకల) అప్పన అనే ఋషి ద్వారా వచ్చింది. ఆ ఋషి ఇక్కడ లోక కళ్యాణార్ధం తపస్సు చేశాడు. పూర్వకాలంలో ఈ ప్రదేశంలో బ్రాహ్మణులు వేదాలని వల్లె వేస్తూ ఉండేవారని ప్రతీతి,
#వెంకటేశ్వరస్వామి దేవస్థాన చరిత్ర : క్కడ రెండు వెంకటేశ్వర దేవస్థానాలు ఉన్నాయి. ఇక్కడి వెంకటేశ్వర స్వామిని తూర్పు భారతదేశములోలా బాలాజీ అని పిలుస్తారు. పూర్వము ఉన్న దేవస్థానమును కళ్యాణ వెంకటేశ్వరుడు అని పిలుస్తారు. ఈ దేవస్థాన నిర్మాత మొల్లేటి రామస్వామి ఒక కొబ్బరి వర్తకుడు. ఆయన కీర్తి శేషులు శ్రీమతి వాయువేగుల శీతమ్మ గారి ఇంట్లో కొబ్బరి వర్తకము చేయ సాగెను. ఒకనాడు కొబ్బరి రాశిలో ఒక కొబ్బరి కాయలో శ్రీ వెంకటేశ్వరుని తిరు నామాలను కనుగొన్నారు. ఆ కొబ్బరి కాయను ప్రతిష్ఠించి శ్రీ వేంకటేశ్వర స్వామిని ఆరాధించ సాగెను. అది దిన దిన ప్రవర్ధమానమయి పెద్ద పవిత్ర క్షేత్రమయినది.
ఇక్కడ దేవాలయములో ప్రతిష్ఠించబడిన ధ్వజస్తంభం గురించి ఒక విశేషమైన కథ ఉంది. ఈ ఆలయ నిర్మాణకర్త మొల్లేటి రామస్వామి, కొందరు గ్రామ ప్రముఖులు ధ్వజస్తంభం కోసం నాణ్యమైన కొట్టబడిన చెట్టును కొనడానికి వెళ్ళినప్పుడు ధర విషయములో తేడా వచ్చి కొనకుండా వెనుకకు తిరిగి రావటం జరిగింది. తరువాత కొన్ని రోజులకు గోదావరి నదికి వరదలు వచ్చినవి. విచిత్రముగా ధ్వజస్తంభం కొరకు బేరమాడిన అదేచెట్టు అప్పనపల్లి తీరానికి చేరి ఉన్నదని, దానినే ధ్వజస్తంభ నిర్మాణమునకు వాడారనీ చెపుతారు.

Molleti Ramaswamy, the builder of this temple, was a coconut trader. He started trading coconuts in the house of Shrimati Vayuvegula Seethamma, the remains of his fame.

The architect of this temple, Molleti Ramaswamy, some village leaders went to buy quality felled wood for the flagpole but due to price difference, they turned back without buying it Strangely, it is said that the same tree which was bargained for the flagpole was found on the coast of #Appanapally and the same tree was used for the construction of the flagpole.
