- Ebay has proved a great marketplace for buying and selling Watches. But there are substantial costs involved that you should know. Listing fees, Final Value fees, Postage costs, Import duties and more.
Some good advice, that many won’t be aware of. Same thing buying from AE with the import tax. It can make what looks like a good deal into one that financially isn’t, where a Chinese watch is concerned.
Import taxes also applied if buying from Oz, regardless of whether a courier or a Royal Mail delivery, as eBay pays the tax to HRMC, if you fail to collect you watch from the Royal Mail office by a certain date, they will return it at their expense. If you collect your item from the Royal Mail or courier office, you will pay 20% VAT to HRM, they will then forward this on to HRMC, taxes may not be paid on some items, depending on the value of your watch.
