  • Today we take a closer look at the Erebus Ascent watch with a Purple Helix dial on a J-Style bracelet.
Overall the watch is very well made, the case is a combination of polished and brushed surfaces. The screw-down crown and dial both take care of 100m water resistance, and the dial is covered by a double domed sapphire crystal with a clear anti-reflective coating. The J-style bracelet is attached to the case by solid endlinks and their connection to the lugs is perfect. The clasp offers tool-free micro-adjustment.
The main draw, however, is what's under the sapphire glass. The dial has an interesting texture with the Erebus logos and both the indices, hands and manufacturer's logo are done in a polished finish. It is the dial and the details around it that I focus on in this video.
The printing on the dial is great, the hands look nice even under a microscope and are free of lume residue. There is some dirt here and there, but that's the tax for the high gloss finish. The same can be said of the indices. All of them, including the one at position 6, above which the bordered data window is hidden, are filled with luminescent coating. The lume is above standard for this type of watch and comparable to such Seiko SKX007.
Overall, I rate the watch, in terms of workmanship, great. Even the used Miyota 9000 series movement itself is very accurate. The alignment of the hands, the threading of the crown, the operation of the clasp are all excellent. In terms of microscopic shots, the Erebus is not the best I have seen under the microscope, but it certainly holds its position among the best.

Thanks for the close-views of this watch. I'm curious if this particular watch was pre-production or production. I'm considering ordering one of these. Again, thanks!

Glad you like it. Music is the most difficult part as it must be in the background and before I have discovered YT Audio Library I used mainly classical music (which suits it quite nicely) .
