Placing a price of your collections next to a title of your collection is pretty cringe if you ask me.

Nice review, i have this GMT-1758 Map version and a GMT-1693. But i found the 1693 is much well made of. It's only flaw is fixed bezel, limited dial color option. But the bracelet and clasp of 1693 is also vert strong and nice. I expected more from the 1758 but except for the NH34 movement i got disappointed to see the quality when i put the two watches together, Besides i likes the 42mm dial. of 1693. Anyway about accuracy of time keeping i still haven't noticed any specificity of 1758. Apparently both performs the same. Don't know which movement does 1693 has but as a layman i didn't notice any difference. Price of 1758 is much higher in AliExpress. I must mention that in my 1758 watch the GMT hand doesnt properly aligns up with the hour indicator but it wasn't an issue with 1693. I informed the seller about this.

Best dial colour of the Tsuyosa range. Looks way more exclusive and expensive than the plain colour dials.

It is very addictive just like any hobby that involves collecting. What I always recommend to people is to buy quality over quantity. Dont buy cheap Seikos etc. Buy watches that at least retain value

I have walk on several down roads: hype, chinese, quartz, expensive automatic ones, but no one has me quit. After 40 or 50 watches I still want one more. Definitely it's an addiction.

I like the penguin feet, but I like the dark blue one with the swimming penguins too. Get them both?

It's completely true. I took a 5 month break from watch hunting. And then suddenly I bought one at the end of May, then another one a week later, and a third one 2 days later. All beautiful, all very accessible. But now I feel bad, because it's too many watches in just 2 weeks. Best regards

Mine is amazingly accurate. The Seiko movement is within 1 second slow over 24 hours... consistently.

I dont know man you sandpaper it or scratches from daily wear? Bezel looks not good.

I developed a twisted desire for extreme accuracy. This means radio-synch to atomic clocks, synch to GPS satellites, and high-accuracy quartz. No mechanical watches. Still too many things out there. Looking for bargains helps.

Bought it at the time for like 250 euros. Keep being tempted to sell it, every time I see it in the box it looks unimpressive. Until I start wearing it again. It's on odd thing, it's not even particularly my style, but it's so perfect.

I've ridden many trains in my time, but never the one named 'Hype'. Like others, by the time i became aware of the SARB, as much as I liked it, I just couldn't bring myself to pay what i thought was too high a price. Never been sure about the 6Rs either. Heard good, but also a lot of not-so-good too. Tis a cracking looking little thing though.

People forget you had to pay import duty, so it wasn’t as cheap as the price tag suggests.

I bought a Seiko 5 after years of hearing about what great watches they are. It sucked. It felt cheap and kept poor time on top of it's other issues. I ended up giving it away to a friend who knows nothing about watches, and later I heard of rampant Seiko QC issues. Gave you a thumbs up!

Juat picked up a gold one of these for 19 aud.

Just enjoy. I'll try the line about moving investments next time I'm tempted to buy a watch and see how it goes down with the finance committee.

the design strikes a nice balance between conservative at first look and flashy if looking a little closer. japanese salaryman compatible.

Didn't liked the lume on the inner ring of the markers. Buy a Clean factory Explorer 1 39mm for about gbp350 through a trusted dealer. Fantastic quality, has ar coating, great lume, etc etc. It will make most watches redundant

It is a watch I like the look of, and would have bought 4-5 years ago, if the prices asked were not so high. Personally, I wasn’t prepared to pay double what it retailed at, but I won’t criticise anyone who is. It’s your money & we aren’t talking Rolex figures here, thankfully. Lol. Hope you continue to enjoy it, it certainly wears well.👍

I think, it was a good idea to buy this beautiful watch. Congratulations Sir! If you ever planned to avoid a Seiko Turtle, I can just say, I avoided it for a long time. And now I am in love. It wears so well on my seven inch wrist. I never thought it would be my best wearing watch. Wearing it for four weeks now and always when I swap it for another watch I swap it back after a few hours. 🕐⚙️🍸

The thing with Seiko is that the new models are not better in general than the old ones. I have a couple of Cocktail Time series watches and I am sure that they are not better than that of yours and at similar prices

Nice. That’s a beauty. A Seiko SARB lookalike (SZSB015) is how I got into watches about two years ago.

Agree with you, it is a beautifully designed watch for sure, but these new reissues are just nowhere near its predecessors in terms of movements. The 44A movement found in the 44KS line from 1967 had a high grade hand wound movement. Mine still runs like a Chronometer.

really good collection, i think you said it best when you compared the breitling and the aliexpress watch. I have a seiko steelmaster that was 600 euros and I also have the Laco augsburg with the miyota movement and the cheaper miyota movement keeps much better time.

I bought this watch with a burgundy dial, I paid full price, and for me it was ultra luxury. But I couldn't believe how beautiful the watch was when I saw it in person. The watches that I like cost from 7 thousand euros and up, that's why I didn't even think about buying any kind of watch. And then I saw him... Yes, it would have been right if they had put a better mechanism in it, it would have been just right if it cost half as much, but the look and build of it is something that surpasses everything else. I haven't regretted it for a single moment, I enjoy it every day.

I know it’s a Homage but it’s such a damn good watch for the price, I’m willing to bet a fair number of people have this watch and probably aren’t willing to admit they have it (and love it). I have a Watchdives version (FKM Tropic Strap), and it’s the cheapest watch I own, but one of my favorites!

Did you de magnetise it as I randomly had one of my watches randomly running fast then slow, de magnetising it sorted that out. I would not know where to start regulating one..

I have 4 watches with 6r35. I had very similar experience on 3 of them. The accuracy on them is all over the place. Mine mainly run slow even 30s slow per day. After service and regulation they tend to perform better, however nowhere near as accurate and consistent as my 4r or nh series watches. The power delivery isn’t great probably due to the longer power reserve. Seiko just came out with the next revision of this movement 6r55. Hopefully this shall address the issues with them. I have contacted Seiko Uk with the advice being just wind them 80 times to start off than 20 to 40 each morning. This did not fill me with confidence nor it resolved the issues. I have contacted Seiko Hungary as well, they have stated regulating the watch will help but indeed this is more of a common occurrence with the 6r movements than the 4r but they can’t say, that it is a faulty design. Luckily I have bought most of mine second hand for 50 to 60% of its original price.

Seiko Watches are extremely easy to regulate as long as you don't have shaky hands . haven't had a 6R break on me yet i think it might be a skill issue brother .i would practice regulating a beater watch to dial that in . i have been able to achieve 1-2 seconds on 6rs albeit after multiple tries .

SPB387 has lume but also a date window. Don't know if that makes it better looking or worse?
