    9 oz Baking chocolate (70%)

    2/3 cup Light brown sugar

    3/4 cup All purpose flour
    1/3 cup Dutch-processed cocoa powder

    Blue Cheese Mixture:
3 oz Blue cheese (I used Point Reyes and it was perfect!)

i dont know why nike/adidas thing matters so much. I skate and i have a few nike hoodies/zip ups. Its not very visible that theyre nike, yet i still wear them with sambas or forum lows. I try to make my outfits cohesive, so the whole image isnt bad at all... An outfit is not just about brands, its about how to combine pieces in a pleasing manner. So what if my hoodie has a tiny nike logo lmaooo

"Blue, brown, and black together don't work" is something that I hear from people of an older generation. Not sure the same idea is shared with current generation z fashion.

I think there's some validity to this myth. If the main color story of the outfit isn't about the black/blue/brown, it's best to go for only one of those colors. For example, you could use a black turtle neck, black shoes, bag etc to compliment a red suit, or swap for a brown turtleneck, brown shoes, bag...even navy would look cool. Now imagine the same red suit with brown shoes, a black turtleneck, and a navy bag...in my mind that doesn't look good. (Though I'm sure it works some of the time, there are a lot of amazing people that can style the wildest outfits).
When the outfit is intentionally built around a color pairing such as black and brown, that does look really neat.

I have a personal fashion myth my mother instilled into my brain at such a young age.
She would never allow me to incorporate black shoes with white socks (and vice versa). It’s weird because growing up I’d always have her voice in my head whenever I would mix the two together saying “only mailmen and police officers do that.” As I developed my own style throughout the years I’ve realized she was wrong. I tend to enjoy the look of black shoes with the pop of white socks in my outfits. Idk it’s just something that stuck with me for ages. Lol great upload btw 👍🏾

I’m a 90’s kid that played basketball… white socks and black shoes was by FAR the best look. I would only wear black kicks w/white socks and the dummy’s with no style would always tell me to not wear that.. now they have pictures of them wearing black socks and black shoes in high school.. so gross 🤢

Hi, Drew! Love your content. I do have to disagree with the "don't mix Adidas and Nike" take, though. I don't personally do it myself; however, I don't think that someone else who chooses to mix these brands automatically means they are not stylish/are steering away from style. Not everyone has the privilege to avoid mixing brands due to class discrepancies. Sometimes people rely on hand-me-down clothes, and if that's the case, I believe they can still be stylish even if they have to or choose to mix Adidas and Nike. I also think there's room for challenging political and class ideologies by doing so. All best!

  • @MichaelSheaAudio
    @MichaelSheaAudio 6 หลายเดือนก่อน +19

I think you can mix whatever brands you want. Unfortunately, big brands do not give a damn about you. They are not loyal to you, you are just a source of income and they'll do whatever they can to make you spend your money. If they are not loyal to you and don't care about you, then why should you be loyal to them? Brand loyalty is silly for this reason. Wear whatever brands you want, or screw the big brands because they often have terrible ethics and wear something better.
And don't throw out your clothes unless they are literally trash. If they're still wearable, sell them or donate them so they can be worn for years to come. And before throwing out your trash clothes, do a search on google for anywhere near you that takes old garments or shoes and reuses them in other ways.

I think one factor to consider on the topic of mixing jewelry metals is the vast difference in cost. Silver being much cheaper can come in larger, more ambitious and detailed designs, whereas the majority of gold pieces tend to be more subdued and clean in execution, simply because there's less metal to work with at an accessible cost. So it's not just the color mixing that one needs to think about, but the style/genre mixing as well.

For anyone interested in visual art in general, like fashion design, art history, industrial design, the movie "Lemony Snicket's A Series of Unfortunate Events" from 2004 is a must see. I have seen few initial seconds of it on TV, by chance, back in the days and remained glued to the screen. The way they "styled" it visually was mind-blowing for me. It is deja vu but it ain't deja vu...that type of style game. Very interesting how they pulled that one off.

I will never understand why people think Nike and Adidas can't be worn together. They're just brands, if you're worried about two logos clashing then you need to remind yourself what silhouette, texture, drape, color, and details are all about. Giving this much of a shit about brand logos is pretty cringey.

  • @mister_manager

Agreed on trends; most consumer trends are a tool for brands to keep lining their own pockets by convincing us that we have to keep spending our money on the latest shoe or phone in order to prevent some random stranger from laughing at us.
If we just appreciated what we had, these companies would shutter and ultimately our economy would take a hit, so they spend billions on runways, articles and UGC to get the word out that some random color (that they've struck a deal with Pantone over) is suddenly in lol

I agree that you don’t have to be tall/skinny to be stylish. I’m only 5’7 so there are some things that just don’t fit with a smaller body type. For example the baggy jeans imo don’t look good as it makes me look even smaller and doesn’t really fit the proportions I’m going for. But at the same time while I may not be able to wear some styles I can still be stylish just in a different capacity.

Honestly, I think as for having “note-worthy style” is looking for pieces (and brands) that feel true to you. I started to practice the “find myself” in every store I go and I be finding cool stuff. Because one thing I noticed in fashion people is that they shop EVERYWHERE. Also, I’m getting into buying silver jewelry and mixing metals because I kinda’ feel bored of gold.

I'm sorry, but I don't see anything wrong with mixing Nike with Adidas. If a like a pair of shoes, socks, leggings, sweatshirts, etc I don't care what brand it is as long as the products are made with good and eco-friendly materials. The stigma of mixing brands screams 'brand obsessed' for me.

I wonder where the thing about not mixing sportswear brands comes from - If you had 2 garments that you wanted to throw together, that for the sake of argument had subtle branding on them, and otherwise there would be absolutely no reason not to style them with each other, then why wouldn't you? I don't get it!

    • @abaofifsz

Just a core difference in design. Nike tends to try and be more innovative and try out new concepts a lot. Adidas usually tries to stick to their guns and run a new concept as far as they can. Subtle things like adidas usually are more narrow and slim. It seems Adidas design focuses more on being blended with an overall outfit. Nike design is such that the shoe can be the centerpiece of an outfit.

For those that are short, I’ve found that with pretty much all people, investing in a good pair of boots (with some type of heel) and pants that fall the right way over these boots will add perceptive length to your legs. If the pants hover too high off the boots, it’ll have the reverse effect. And they don’t have to be “wide leg” either. Find a pair of pants and tailor them - can be flared, straight relaxed, wide.

I think, similar to Drew’s point about belts and shoes matching, not matching black with certain colours is an idea that originates with men’s tailoring.
It’s considered a big no no to switch out intended co-ords in these colours to make new combos. I.e if you have a black suit and a navy suit, switching out the black jacket for a navy jacket traditionally is blasphemy.
This idea that was always geared purely towards suiting has just trickled into menswear in general.

I tell many of my customers to only bother matching leathers in formalwear. Outside of formalwear it is irrelevant so they shouldn't stress about it.
As for brown and black, again I only value that idea in formalwear, same with navy and black because in formalwear brown looks better with navy as to me, it is reminiscent of where the ocean meets the sand.
In general, if any two colours occur beside eachother in nature, they can occur beside eachother in clothing.

one of my personal rules is to always wear two of the three colors in an outfit: navy, black, and grey. i just love the way navy and black look together and create a nice dark cool toned outfit

I think for the 'u have to be skinny & rich to be fashionable' myth its not true but it is just harder because most of the examples and designs of clothes are built with skinny ppl in mind so the clothes won't look the same if ur not that bodytype which requires you to have to style everything from scratch. And with less money the cultivation of a wardrobe is much slower and restricted.

Matching leathers with belts, shoes, watch straps and purses makes your outfit less busy and more thoughtful imo. The same with metals to a way smaller extent.

Hi Drew, I really appreciate how your encourages everyone have the gender mixed fashion! But like me I am from Hong Kong a so-called “international” city, while I want try any men’s fashion in store I will be 100% reminded from the staff “Um this is a men’s”. Honestly to me I’m still surprised that this concept? isn’t promoted by the whole fashion industry (at least this point seems not included in their brand guidelines).
Yes I am so happy to hear this from a TH-cam channel about fashion and not just telling us what to buy in the coming season.

Was watching it on my TV but have to comment.
Rango was so FYEEEE you just awakened nostalgia inside meee.
And I literally watched Saltburn yesterday. It was so okay and that “bathroom” scene genuinely made me feel sick.
The ending was a huge Ooooh.
But apart from that it is a solid 8/10z
It did its job well enough, and with the ending everything kinda got knitted together as 10/10.
But the show overall would’ve been better if it was a TV show of 3-6 or so episodes

the myth that dressing for your body is not important. I see so many times "just wear what you love, who cares what others think". While in essence I agree, it's not carte blanche to completely go against your body type and shape and wear a body con dress or a minimalist A shape maxi tunic. And I blame Yasslighting for this. Objectively something either looks flattering or it doesn't. It has nothing to do with being thin or fat.

Idk I still don't really like white socks with loafers. Imo loafers will always look better with a dress sock. Also I think navy and black rule is more for suits and classic styles. I think wearing a navy blazer with a black slack or vice versa would be a little odd, but I could have my mind changed if I saw it done correctly.

Being trendy and being stylish is totally different, it's more about the knowledge of fashion.
Trendy can be a "dead inside" trap and you'll never find wht's fit you the most. Stylish is knowing everything about your own style, your bodyshape, your likes and dislikes with some touch of trendiness. Mistermort is a good example of that point
