Lot of Locomotives Arrived in the Mail - Unboxing and Testing

- Several boxes have arrived over the last few weeks so today I thought I would open them. Inside there were several unexpected locomotives. A few are projects however others ran right away. I'm overall amazed by the generosity and would like to thank all the people who sent these in.

As an interesting note. The EMD FP45 was built only for only two railroads beginning in 1967. The Union Pacific never had any. The cowl carbody was requested by A.T.S.F in the warbonnet red & silver paint scheme for their passenger trains. A grand total of 14 EMD FP45 were produced. Of these, six have been preserved at railroad museums with at least one in operating condition. Later on, EMD also produced the nearly identical SDP40F for Amtrak with 150 examples.
Did a quick rummage around on Internet - looks like your military loco is a Bradford Exchange WWII Armoured Express Train Collection and needs a camouflaged sloped back tender.

The CN 4108 is a GP7. GP7's have the two or three sets of louvers under the cab. GP9's have only one or no louvers under the cab.
That's the freight version of the Amtrak FP45
What an awesome haul. Wow! Nerf Cat is a beautiful kittie. I have a Brown Calico, Kallie. She is a big cat ,17+ lbs. Nerf Cat looks like a big guy too. Anyway, glad to see some of them were runners. I am really partial to the steam locomotives. They are my favorites in any scale. Thanks for sharing. I don't know how you can wait to open these. I would be opening them immediately. 😉 💕😺💕
That's a pretty big cat. Nerf kitty is about 18 pounds during the winter months but "slims" to 17 durning the summer lol
In the world of model trains, you can never have too many engines, cars, buildings or parts. Glad that others send you stuff as it makes me appreciate the boxes of goodies and unfinished projects that I own and tinker with.

Those were nice gifts of trains. All of them look good. My favorite no doubt is The CN GP 9 . I bought one in late. 2021 coincidentally it needs repairs as of this writing. Hope it will be a runner it needs oiling. I may try your method of oil & grease. I will keep you updated. And as a fan of pets We love NERF CAT. 😺 Pet him for me as well! 😅 As for those parts you are very successful in receiving these. Happy railroading. SMT. 🤗

Those Athearn spares are going to come in handy for any projects too far gone and need recovering. Those Athearn motors are near bullet proof. As long as you're handing out kitty skritches give ol Nerf Cat a couple for me.
They're gonna need some work but I have no doubt the coils are still good.

I like the UP AHM locomotive, when he took it out I saw the top and I thought "did he just get a big blow?!" But that wasn't The case. Also I like the high hood and n scale UP locomotive

I love older locomotives there are not the best bit for there time they were great and were made the right way!

Cool stuff these guys sent you! The bachmann military 0-6-0 is part of the Hawthorne village train set from the Bradford exchange.
Does branford exchange have quality train sets ?

The AHM Union Pacific F45, the N scale steam locomotive and the CN GP7 or GP9 (I can't tell the difference) was a nice surprise. UP never had F45s to my knowledge, but still a cool model nonetheless.
It's a GP7. The easiest way to tell is the hood louvers. GP7 ones look like this:

Not perfect, but you get the idea. GP18s have a similar louver configuration but the two big radiator fans, different radiator grilles, and different side skirting give them away (some late GP9s had the larger fans, but not the other stuff).

Love the locomotives you got the gp9 cn f unit and U.P locomotive caught my eye. Bet the gp9 has that stupid wire spring thing acting up . All them parts man thats great.

Edit: I’ve got them 2 same engines! The military engine, and the bachmann n scale engine. The military engine is my first ho engine.
You should invest in an airbrush. They sell cheaper ones and I think you would get good use out of it. Also nice haul!

It's an F45. SD45s don't have a full-width cowl body.
How did I get that. Iwas tired you right DSF45. F45 UNIT .

Yes but I remove the label since it's possible they don't want to share that information.
Only asking as where you say you don't know who sends packages.

Wow what's with people and wanting someone to destroy stuff.... Plus telling someone what they should make is like slapping them in the face. Remember everyone needs to show some respect and also know the fact that in the wise stream he said that he's got a job also remember he is a person just like you me and everybody else and we need to show respect that goes for everybody in this community

@@momsmaniacs2398 I remember he made one years ago and then the one that happened on live stream thats the only time he had that happen as i recall. I think also he has alot going on to do something like that . like work life and then do this for fun and share the great hobby. I just dont see the sense having crashes at all.
