Awesome video, Scrumptious! So much cool stuff to work on abd restore in the future. Here is some of the info off of the Santa Fe Cheif you were running. The Santa Fe Cheif started service in 1926 and was run by the Santa Fe until October 28, 1984 when Amtrak took it over and called it the Southwest Cheif. The "SWC" is still my Favorite Amtrak train to see here in the Midwest.
SMT - The Santa Fe started the Super Chief in the mid 1930s. The train originally had a 4-8-4 steamer with heavyweight cars. Later, they replaced 4-8-4 with diesels that had a box cab body with a shovel-nose front. Around 1938, the Super Chief got a streamlined diesel & streamlined cars. In the 1960s, the Super Chief was combined with the # 2 Chicago-Los Angeles train, the El Capitan. The Super Chief did operate in the 1970s under Amtrak. The " rod " on top of the observation car is a " train phone " radio antenna. It was an early railroad radio system that would transmit & receive through the telegraph lines to stations & dispatchers. The conductor & a station agent could arrange for a passenger to make long distance telephone calls while the train was in motion via the train phone radio.
Nice Simpson reference Harrison. Watched livestream before this video, so disregard lighting comment for Santa Fe passenger cars. 040 should have worked, as well as the UP diesel, Silver Streak, Midnight Special 🦈 Nose and Chessie. Wheels on all were pretty grungy. You'll get them back on track. 👍 👍 👍

Late again, but I still enjoyed the video. These are great locomotives and rolling stock and I’m looking forward for any restoration videos on these locomotives.
You had the same reaction I did when I put the Baby Ruth car on the track. It makes you laugh, it's very creative. Those Tyco Mantuas are my favorite also. They run good. I have two of those Chessie System Alcos. When you restore that 0-4-0 try to get some close up pictures of the inside. I have one similar to it but it was painted so I don't know what kind of train it is.
The super chief ran into Amtrak era as the southwest limited and then the southwest chief today, those cars would be from the 40’s and the loco would be from around the early 50’s (maybe 40’s)
Cpl yrs back was at habitat for humanity. As i was leaving i seen a table with 50% off sign. So i stopped. What got my attention was 5 pcs of the Hawthorne village set. 4 out of 5 were passenger cars with names on them venom, sandman, goblin, dr octopus, and the b car . they had stickers on them for $4. Bought the whole set for $2. All of the 4 passenger cars lit up. Only down side is they are really long. Don't like short curves. They work great other then that.
Does the AT&SF herald on the Observation Car light up? My first train set, back in 1967, was an Santa Fe passenger set, with 2 F-7A's, an F-7B, and 6 cars (a little overpowered, methinks)
Do you own any good locomotives? Don’t get me wrong I’m glad your giving love to those old clunkers , but let’s see some Kato, Atlas, Athearn, your layout looks nice but let’s see some good action!
The ones with flickering lights are detail because when you ride old engines the lights flicker when they go by on a crossing as it passes you because they shake
They would although you would have to be careful because dcc has full power in the track at all times so if the lights had too much power they would burnout.
U can run DCC powered track for DC trains and rolling stock for about 10 mins or so if more then that u will Burn the DC motor out I had to turn a DCC to a DC because a friend of mine ran it on DC power for to long
Ooh, a delux ikea shelf for me? I don't know how they're gonna fit it in the box, probably gonna use sharks with sharks with frickin' laser beams attached to their heads
Tycos I have rebuild and also fixed I have 7 or 10 tycos in my set up I run them as well they all run great need some pionters on tycos I'm the guy to ask I'm old school and check everything on the models to make them running like new
@@Tyc11114 the guy has a space at an indoor flea market. I am currently out of town, but when I get back to PA, I'll see if he still has the engine and tender. Most likely he does. Kind of cluttered, so if you don't know what you are looking for in his space, you would never know it's there. You can IM me on Facebook @david margallis
Woo! So cool train model!
I subscribed your channel👍
I'm looking forward to your new video.

wow, Harrison. That Super Chief looks beautiful. good job. You get so lucky with the hauls/lots.
With all support,

The Santa Fe train and passenger cars was so satisfying and oh my god looks amazing
They don’t.
They are too short and I can’t find a prototype for them. Also that is not the Santa Fe livery for passenger cars.
@@user-sd7qo7qe4v your just jealous

That passenger set looks familiar-except that my father's was Pennsylvania pulled by an f unit. Tyco from the mid-sixties
The box car also apparently also works with Alcos (realistically)!
Awesome
Can you do more videos with passenger cars also I love ur vids!
