Probably a reflection of musicians who beautifully respect new young talents like Joey. A great example is Nils Lan Doky, who introduced Joey to the audience his second musical week on Standard and how he first told about the mesmerizing moments with Joey few past days and then added how they all love him very much. Yes, I cryed few happy tears when I fist time heard dear mr Lan Doky's words about Joey.
Everyone wants to play with Joey with no blackish envy because he can make other ones
to sound even better than usual.

Yeah no one can talk shit about a genius like him. Because they know that he is better than him and saying stuff would make them look like they envy him. So people choose to just enjoy the music.

“Child prodigy” does not even come close to describing this kid. He is the kind of meteor that hits the world maybe once a century. I just hope his childhood years have been protected by people with his best interests in mind. He has his whole life to create incredible music. But like the rest of us, he only gets to be a kid once.

And a little child shall lead them. Joey knows more about harmony than all of the band members put together. He can put any jazz Ph.D's to shame. His rhythm is impeccable; very tight. I'm not a fan of jazz, because my training and love is in classical. However, I thoroughly dig watching Joey play. To think he taught himself not only to develop a tight piano technique, but also to have such a profound instinct of harmony.

God laid his hand on Joey Alexander for a long time before He brought him into this world. And, because God loves music, in Joey He seems to have reincarnated the souls of Evans, Monk, Strayhorn, Tatum, Petersen and other musical greats who left us far too soon…. As Joey’s God-sent virtuosity progresses you can hear in his music all those old souls rejoicing as one at having another chance to have their unrealized musical visions expressed through the grooves/brilliant talents of the new heir apparent to their combined musical genius - Mr. Joey Alexander. Joey, you make God’s (and my) ears smile! Thank you.

Personally, I want to hear Joey play with who I believe is the greatest pianist alive today - Hiromi Uehara! What a treat that would be - for both them - and us!

I'm sure we'll see Uehara and Alexander playing together soon enough. Exciting times for jazz, the level of virtuosity is entering a new league. I've been watching Joey for hours now, I just can't believe it. Giant Steps and Round Midnight in particular at that level of playing at just 10 or 11, it's insane. His performance of Round Midnight on his NYC debut at Lincoln reminded me very much of Michel actually. Giant Steps is a tune that even some of the great pianists I can think of found hard to do well.

He has had an interest since young and brought himself to this position. No higher being is responsible for who he has become, it was his hard work and love for the music.

Joey is both a featherweight and a heavyweight on those keys and soooooo expressive!! - I think if Bill Evans was sat next to him, Bill would be both riveted and agasp, all at the same time!!

I cannot say anything, except holy crap. Talent abounds in life from time to time. This young man has it tenfold. You got me as a new fan forever Joey, I look forward to your music in the future.
