Got rid of the toxic idiots and been happy ever since. Boundaries up and never coming down. Living my life to the full enjoying my single life and embrace being alone and be that mother for my children. I find joy in the little things my kids do and it brings me joy seeing both of them happy.
There is a period in everybody's journey where they are so different because they've started to do new things that they no longer fit in with others. That lonely chapter that's in the middle is something that only those who've gone from a place where they are to a place where they want to be have gone through. Having a purpose in life can bring a sense of fulfillment and meaning.
Exactly…. When the mind is still (when the silt has settled to the bottom and the waters are clear) can we see what we could not see. At first, we must admit that we had rushed along unquestioning the embedded script. But once we break free from its embrace, be ready for your old world to try to pull you back in…. Courage, clarity of mind, reasonable tenacity and persistence to walk quietly on your chosen path. Be ready for an almost religious experience as your self-imposed shackles fade away. 😊

After going through the normal period of buying buying buying, I started to declutter and found it great, been stuck on the minimalist lifestyle for a year or so and I don’t plan on going back. Though sentimental and personal items are always a must have
Great video and very much appreciated :)- I have been practicing minimalism for years and never even knew it until I started watching videos on TH-cam during the Pandemic when I was alone and had no family. My life is a lot more stress free as I am happier with less. It is tragic that more people in our society don't seem to see the benefits to live more with less. Kudos

Im USA army retired and over 20 years i moved alot and I always had to make choices what is worth keeping now i am retired and 4 years ago i looked at what I was doing and took the idea of reduce and simplify. I just read books from the library the new York times best sellers and if I don't like the book i just take it back i now control what I want my mind to focus on. 😊
It took a long time to get this far as a very rich man. And, I ain't giving IT up. My name is Gary the homeless guitar player from Allentown Pa. But, there is one thing that's very hard to get..... SLEEP 😴💤!!! And, sometimes SOCKS.✌️☝️😜
Love this video. I've followed minimalism for many years. I wonder tho, why your visuals feature only men. Unless it is a woman in a 1950s depiction of a housewife. Many women choose minimalism and often are the instigators in the home. It would be great to see myself represented more.
Living a simpler "minimalist" life is NOT really about the "stuff" you have but an attitude and relationship with the concepts of need and want. The global world has evolved into a completely obsessed CONSUMER society. Before this TH-cam began there was an advertisement by SimplyHuman for a trashcan that opened on voice command. REALLY? You REALLY need a trash can lid to be open when you arrive. Of course you are dripping that coffee filter but now you need an expensive trash can open as you head toward it. My GOD what have human's become--lazy! Don't even START getting rid of ONE thing until you get your head on straight or you will fast find your credit card weighed down with crap you don't need. I mean you are TOO busy to cook dinner and engage with a "fresh" meal direct to your house for some extravagant amount of money?
Not sure about this. I feel like people that say this can't afford toys. If you can afford it and want it buy it. We're all going to die, do what you want if you have the means
This isn’t true for all so you shouldn’t be quick to judge on that “ if they don’t have it , it’s bc they can’t afford it” … my younger brother died and after that I haven’t found happiness or pleasure on everyday things , and even having money to go do stuff and buy it didn’t give me any satisfaction. It’s all abt how things make us feel
The entire point is that the illusion of pleasure we derive from material ownership is just that, an illusion. The only things that will provide truly lasting fulfillment are genuine connection with ones natural environment and other living things, especially one's own species. There's a reason the "touch grass" movement ever gained traction despite the silly name. It really does heal something deep to unplug for a time and detach from the material noise of our society.
Certainly some people do, but the whole point of a minimalist mindset is that the endless acquisition of more and more and more stuff is an empty and hollow thing that doesn't in the end provide any real, true and lasting contentment, and moreover is driven by people who want you to buy their stuff rather than the other guy's stuff because it will make them richer. Chewing gum tastes nice when you first put it in your mouth, but before very long the flavour is all gone and in effect you're just chewing a tasteless piece of rubber. Why would anyone willingly embrace a lifetime of doing that?

100% agree , it's something I feel its difficult at the start but in the end its worth it to find that inner peace in you.
Things of this world start sweet and end bitter. Things of the higher world start bitter and end sweet.

@@ryanbinder1294 You nailed the essence of spirituality!
You are so correct. And very well said.

Can listen over and over again to this video. Enjoy hearing about your process in to minimalism. On my way now, it takes it´s time.

at 18:42 - I really love how you analyze the concepts of humanity and life. This video provides a lot of valuable lessons!
Great video, thanks.

sometimes you have to minimize minimalism to find balance; an epicurean and buddhist thought
Good explanation.
Loved this thank you
I'm not sure that a 38-minute lecture on minimalism would be in keeping with that philosophy. However, thank you for the video anyway.😊

I should feel fulfilled according to this video......
Should I not want anything, period?
Thanks ❤
Is there a transcript available for this video?
Great
Jesus mentioned this many times.

So would you say that joining the Rat Race, getting into debt and living beyond your means will make you happy and content?

Less is more .
Not true for everyone. Some people like stuff.
