Jon was simply spellbinding... such an erudite chap with superb anecdotes that reminded me of Peter Ustinov in his prime! I even shed a tear at the end... Absolutely superb!

Not many people know Christopher Lee was a trained assassin for British Intelligence, someone who was high up in the occult and dark arts. Played one hell of a Dracula that's for sure.
Jon is also the best possible person to introduce one to League of Gentlemen shooting locations and/or pirate bars in Covent Garden

Great interview! Ride was such an underrated band. Saw them in Boston in early 1990's. Also saw Radiohead in Rhode Island during The Bends tour. Great times!
They've reformed! Their new album is incredible!!!
The Bends is still my favorite Radiohead record, what an amazing show that must have been!

What a great interview , one of your best yet . I went to an Oxford venue benefit gig a while back, but for the life of me can’t remember if it was to do with Jon’s documentary . I know Members of Ride were on the bill as well as Thom Yorke’s brothers band The Unbelievable Truth - who I adore

Was looking forward to this but liked Jon talking about this on Davy's Flicks more - not dissing Heath - just coz there was a LOT more inside baseball talk about Chris Lee. I added about 5 movies to my wishlist watching.

There is such a thing as truth. The truth would be whichever stuntman actually donned the wig and did the gig. The problem is that among conflicting narratives it’s lost to us (which I suspect is what Mr. Spira really means). But not all the perspectives are right. They’re either true, false memories (which we all have) or deliberate dissimulations. Also, there are basic things we can assume to be actually true (say if subject X says he went to such and such a school) until they are proven to be false. I do get the point, however, and I admire a documentarian not just taking every story hears as gospel.
Is Anyone can play guitar documentary available in the U.S on physical media?

@@CerealAtMidnight I really want to see both the documentaries, support Jon and own them on physical media but the cost of shipping to the US is half the price of the actual item. Jon mentioned to me the reason and it is understandable but I just can't justify it. Nevermind the conversion from pounds to dollars.
