Hot tip: you can move fish into your trawler nets from storage at the floating docks or greater marrow (cargo>storage>nets). Holding fish in the nets keeps them fresh forever letting you deliver to stone slabs or hooded figures without rotting.
To anyone reading this if you recently bought the game, you don't have a time limit for the hooded figure missions anymore. You can complete them at your leisure now
Another major benefit of trawling: The fish in the nets don't go bad! The value of each fish decreases as they go from fresh to stale to rotting; and if they completely turn to rot you can't sell them at all. This means that resting through the night at a place where you can't sell your fish (say, the dock at the back of Gale Cliffs) is costing you money if you have fish on board; but fish in trawl nets are not affected. You can spend 5 days out at sea, resting at minor docks, and when you return you'll have a full net of fresh fish to sell.
Also, regarding the last tip: The time-sensitive quests have now been changed, you won't fail them anymore because you took too long. I still recommend doing them asap though, for other reasons!
I am an offshore fisherman waiting for this game to finish downloading! Wish me luck bro's 🤙 Wow this is insane. Fixing traps... Gotta operate during daylight hourse.. wow man this is great
Nice! I also do a good bit of offshore fishing so this game was a huge hit for me. Honestly, I recommend playing a bit with your panic up at night, it's very spooky!
Never heard of this game before I wandered into your channel, just wanna say this game looks fantastic and I'm probably going to get it myself now thanks to you. Keep it up man, you have some fantastic quality in your videos, they're very enjoyable and informative.
Yesss!!! Finally someone mentioning the small things i knew was a thing, but was thinking it was all in my head. Like, i knew there was the option to turn off your light and thats a good way to hide from the red mist and enemies. But i did not know about the crows. I just blow my horn for fun.
This is the second vid ive seen suggesting leaving crab pots as map markers, but you can already manually leave map markers via the map. Unless this vid came out before an update?
Amazing game. Thank you for the lighting tip, im about to beat it and never noticed haha!it made the chase worse. Hope it takes off and they add more dlc !! If they had a gofund me or kickstarter id invest 100%. I want more quests, more fish species, much higher or much lower stakes as an option. (Maaaaybe to much to ask for but id love to do this as a fisherwoman! Maybe it slightly effect the relationships around me. Id love upgrades on the power themselves, like faster boost or longer lasting monster repellent. Maybe more interactions with other boats who need help out in the open? For all the excess delving items u get once fully upgraded it be a good way to earn something from helping occasional boats in peril.😊
I def wish there was more content as well, it is such a great game and things like more customization and quests would be amazing. I found the DLC was so short, I think I 100% it in like 1.5hours. Glad some of the tips were helpful! 😁
I love the idea of adding "boats in peril" but making them look just like the ghost ship. You hear a horn out in the fog; do you look for it, or bolt out of the area?
@BodinTheGreatGaming I just started playing last night. What a unique and relaxing game. I have a healthy fear of the deep so this game is right up my alley!
@BodinTheGreatGaming It's a really charming game that somehow relaxes you but never completely because the unknown horrors of the ocean are always there. I wish I could have this game on switch!
@@JeremyDeere If you really wanna have fun with it, do not sleep the entire play through! I did a play through (also on my channel), and it was wild fun! Haha
I really am.worrried now. Could you please tell me more specifically how to not let this mystery person die without spoilers? Maybe just tell Me the location or something I can spot the person by? I want to 100 percent this game.
Hot tip for those with thalassophobia (like me): If you gotta get out there and you're being chased, scream and keep moving. Just scream. Let it out. Toot the fog horn if you must.
These are really more "have played the game for a while already" tips because I genuinely have absolutely no idea what any of this is talking about. I really wish people would understand what the word BEGINNER means.
@BodinTheGreatGaming why is it necessary to show footage of that? What value does it add? I'm sure the first time you go up to a "ship" and it transforms unexpectedly is way better than seeing it revealed on a beginner's guide.
@@BodinTheGreatGamingturna is right though. These guides are great, but you shouldn't put in unnecessary spoilers. It's not hard to avoid them either, stick to the facts that help a beginner. Most videos of this nature manage to do it.
Spoiler for what part? Don't seem like a video that needs a spoiler warning. Other than the lock on side quest where he does mention "not to spoil anything" and tries super hard to not spoil it lol. (Even tho he kinda just mentioned everything about the quest anyways.)

That's awesome. Keeps them at their regular temperature. Whoever made this game has been out once or twice

As someone who has the platinum trophy for ps4 and ps5 I feel stupid for not knowing about crab pots as markers, this is a guide for all players lol
Yeah I had no idea either till about halfway through my playthrough lmao
Just got the platinum so I am checking begginer guides. The natural progression.
To get the most out of a day, especially with engines upgraded, use haste then completely stop. Time will stop and your haste meter will deplete.
That's next level
I think you can also fail any quest that involves ferrying people if your boat gets damaged and they're lost overboard.
Hahahaha 🤣

That's the best part about Dredge is that a lot of the "tips" are intuitive, just like you said!
1:35 you can actually use pins to mark spots, there is even different symbols to use like an exclamation mark or a question mark with more :)
I'm guessing those came later as un update.
I just started the game yesterday and these tips are very helpful, thank you!
Glad they helped!

You’re correct, I made this before the update that added map markers!

I bought it yesterday and understood everything
Your video seems helpful but you're showing off too much endgame stuff that I don't want spoiled!
But there are map markers already, like 6 or 7 different markings
Yeah back when I made this guide markings were not a thing. The dev later added this in.
How to fix my boat it’s have a lot of damage 😢
The shipwright can repair your ship. Found at the main pontoons where you dock your boat!

How did I not think about it 🙃

Not yet. There's been a new update that added things like photography+new character, new aberations, and new sea creatures (good and bad ones).

Too many spoilers for a beginner's guide. I stopped the video as soon as i saw a ship turn into a monster.
Sorry that you feel that way. If you're watching a Beginners Guide video not expecting to see gameplay spoilers then I'm not sure what to tell ya!
