Not gonna lie, this is one of my favorite things to do in minecraft -these art maps. It's a ton of work but it's so satisfying and nice to use once done
Watching the time lapse of the pixel art reminded me of being in middle school and writing different words and names in bubble art letters and being so damn proud.
Hey man I just want you to know that im in love with this channel. Not only is a guide for survival combined with a lets play series quite original, but your voice is also calm and not irritating like most minecraft youtubers. Youre up there with Ethoslab with your quality videos. I'm definetly staying with your channel for a while.
I was just gonna say "you must not watch hermitcraft" lol. This logo is cool and all but the ConCorp logo is one of the coolest things ever made in a Minecraft world (thats not a farm, epic build, working cell phone, etc...)
You can use cross stich patterns for they're already gridded and get some wicked designs e.g. spiderman, if you're working on something larger than a single map, work from the middle out that way everything is centralized... once you've locked the map go ahead and clear what you did and move it along this time starting right at the edge (once completed the two or more images will fit together)
👏🏾👏🏾👏🏾...this turned out great...and if anyone missed the stream....the lapse tine doesn't really convey the amount of effort he put in this. That alone deserves a bravo.
I've only done one art map with one more in progress, and I gotta say the guesswork involved was very stressful and time consuming. I currently much more enjoy the building and gathering aspect, so I'll now gladly use the tools available to give me a plan of where to place stuff.
Hey pixlriffs I'm a big fan of the survival guide series and I have a few suggestions for you first of all consider making a dam in foundasforge so it's not flooded one day also for the villager breeder to make it work in 1.14 all u have to do is just replace the doors in the chamber above with beds and make this room alot bigger so it fits more beds I am always inspired with your series even tho I'm playing on bedrock edition and keep up the good work❤️❤️❤️
love you pix ! thanks for inspiring me to create constanly, and being a great youtuber without constant ads! can’t wait for you to blow up, loved seeing you grow
Hey pixlriffs, I know you probably won’t see this comment but I just wanted to let you know that your videos have been helping me get through a really tough time in my life, and I’m so grateful for your channel. Thank you so much for making such high quality and calming videos, I love everything you do on here
I always see my comments. Sorry to hear you’ve been having a rough time, and I’m glad the videos have been helping you through it. I hope things turn around for you soon :)
Locking maps is also useful if you want before and after shots for builds. How neat would it be if you could have placed side by side maps of founders forge before you did any building and then after, as a reminder of where you started and how far you've come.
you could also divide the logo in four, then build one of them on the area you cleaned up, make the map, lock it on the cartography table and use the same area you cleaned up for all 4 sections of the logo (which would allow for as high resolution as you want without having to clean a bigger area out!)
I'm probably a few months late saying this, but you could have copied it, pasted it into mspaint, and then shrunk it to 10% while it was selected. When you shrink a selection in paint it doesn't blur which is perfect for pixel art, and further (I don't know tye specific setting in photoshop) you can actually limit the pallet to x amounts of colors which makes it way easier to have a selection of blocks to use.
Excellent & VERY helpful!! I've seen other apps plugged for use but I have Photoshop. I was musing just this morning how I could do this kind of thing with it & came across your vid in a mix of other similar map art tutorials. SOOOO HAPPY I did. Now off to see how I can import my art into the game files & use on item frames. Rumors are that it can be done, so I'm on my next pixel art mission. 😎
That's really awesome and I like how easy and understandable you made it, it's really possible to overcomplicate things, so thanks for showing off the easy way to make Map Art! There is Map art which is really incredibly good looking but complicated in the making. Again you've managed to be inspiring and make me want to do something like that sometime!
woah you're at almost 200k now damn i remember being and donating in your 10k hardcore survival live streams and that game called stardew valley and you always used to go for sandwiches lmao good work
Im impressed by each one of these videos about how much you know and can about minecraft. And also you spend alot of time making these videos. I have no words for how good you are in this game. Its insane Keep it up
9:40 “But that’s going to require you to flatten out a lot more terrain” No it won’t. You can lock the maps, as explained earlier in the episode. Just make each map in the same area, locking in between.
I'm starting with World Painter and I'm sure you know it and I have an idea and a question: I could take a logo of a brand for example and add it to it and then turn it into voxes. I do not know if I explain myself, not to do it manual if not automatic and not for minecraft, for magicavoxel worlds. It is a long question, good video and thanks in advance.
Everytime I try to make a map it only shows a small corner of my design. I'm new to this, so I still really don't understand how this works. I made a 128x128 square of red concrete on a flat world. It shows about 1/4 of the square but the rest is all grass. No matter how I position myself, or if I'm in survival or creative mode, it only makes that small space. If anyone knows how to fix this, I would be grateful
Next time, in Photoshop, go to edit> image size and change the size to 128, you don't have to approximate the color and placement and stuff, photoshop does that for you.
Just a question, How can you make sure the map shows the exact 128 x 128 region you clear out for the painting? how does the generated map matchches the coordinates and the chunks? Thanks a lot!!
Open the map first. Maps don't just generate centered on the player, they snap to a grid of these 128x128 regions. So you need to open the map before you get started, and use it as a guide for where you need to flatten terrain and build the painting.
Would you ever consider doing a survival world with someone? Not necessarily another TH-camr but just a guy who enjoys minecraft and respects the way you play.
Not gonna lie, this is one of my favorite things to do in minecraft -these art maps.

There’s a pixelate function within Photoshop’s filters! You can define the resolution you want and everything :)
Similarly I was going to suggest resizing the image down to 128×128, you can use nearest neighbour to preserve colours and get that pixelated look.
@@djwillcaine yea he put so much work into this that wasnt necessary
Infinity Survival Guide? Yes please :-)
Let this survival guide extend till 1.20
nay, 2.0!
this world will only die when the legend leaves this world
The map looks good! In photoshop you can experiment with rasterizing and bitmap to get a more accurate guide to use in minecraft!
Somebody should do a conversion script: Hex color codes to Minecraft blocks textures.
Cool. I was also musing about using PS & Hex codes for MC colors, blocks, etc.
I just finished watching the video where you cleared out the snow biome for ur logo map!!

I love that these two episodes, about being artistic, are super technical ones.
I absolutely love how the map ended up. It has been fun being part of the live stream and to see the time lapse :)

Can you make that void room in the stronghold room? Remove that black blocks and add map of dark void of The End,would it be better?
I had a stroke, trying to read this. (I forgot to add this, it wasn't intended to sound rude. People say it as a joke)
The stronghold room is 33x33x33, I would need over 6000 item frames to cover the walls. That would probably crash minecraft
The record is over nine thousand, and the creator says the world is unplayable. Also took him over two years to make.
You have outdone yourself Pixlriffs! Just amazing!
I’ve been making a TARDIS with command blocks and the locking feature saved me after making 4 mistakes that way. Thanks pixlriffs!
