The integer could potentially store up to 65535 however since it was signed that means that half of that value is wasted and just takes up memory for no reason AND they run into that issue in the video. That's because when you make a signed integer it can store negatives (negative 32k to positive 32k) and since they have no reason to have negative values when counting the amount of maps there is litteraly no reason not to make it an unsigned integer because it would give it double space at no cost.. the only possible reason not to is because it might not look nice in code but that's stupid imo. For C# you could make an unsigned 16 bit integer this easily: "UInt16 num=0;" (opposed to "Int16 num=0;") and an unsigned 32 bit int is like this: "uint num=0;" or how I do it "UInt32 num=0;" (opposed to "int num=0;"). While the bots may be speed up, the biggest problem is duping and storing the maps. The 4.3 billion maps needed to do this will take up the equivalent of 2.4 million shulker boxes in the meantime.
Now that 2b2t has updated to 1.19 which has a 4,294,967,296 map limit. I did a quick calculation and found that it would be a fool's errand for any map art griefer or troll to cause a quick map reset. If we assume a worst scenario of accounts being able to bot out the old 16-bit limit (65,536) in 24 hours running 24/7, then with the new limit it would still take 180 years to exhaust all the maps. And if they somehow manage to bot the maps at 65.5K/hr, it would take about 7.5 years (assuming Hause doesn't notice that the server is getting mass DDoS'd by this and he doesn't crack down with a few seconds of cooldown or something). Topkek several of my maps are in this BTW good thing you didn't post an invite link, it would have been an even bigger shitshow than when barrendome did a video
5:43 As someone who knows Java, this issue is most probably because Minecraft for some reason, (before versions after 1.12.2), uses a short, not an int or long, for map storage. Which means if the number of maps goes over the Java short integer limit of 32767, it overflows into the negatives. Also, the negative integer limit for a short is -32768.
with the 24h cooldown per map it would take 89.7130729 years to burn through them all, which is about 13 years more than the average human lifespan in the us, which should be more than enough.

That adds thrill to the art. It's appealing BECAUSE it's risky.
just think which is more impressive? "I created art in my personal server" or "I created art in 2b2t"
yes because it did happen, on the day nothing happened look it up “the day nothing happened on 9b9t” by vaxer its a very good vid
I created map art using the MapArtCraft website, Litematica, and Wurst client the other week on a 1.16 server. Newer updates bring more materials that can be used for greater color depth. Surprised SalC1 didn't touch upon the difference between 2D and staircased map art. See the latest video on my channel for the map art I made recently.
Sal you need to find the seed of the world that was used by the meme "hey shitass"
sal doesn't do it
a bunch of people with graphics cards and custom programs do it
yesterday was my first day on 2b2t and let me say god was it easy for me. i didnt get killed by any players and it was simple to escape spawn (with one simple hack, nofall.)
the whole time i was walking for 1 and a half hours i actually never thought 2b2t could have map arts
you have 'a theory' that there could be an even larger map? Yes, that doesn't sound like a confirmation at all
Im surprised that he was walking around the pack.png world. Can't blame him, there is so much hype over that world.
2:47 OSU MAPART POG

This is probably the best community I've ever heard of on 2b2t
There's only a few bud
They also didn’t cheap out and use carpets it’s 100% blocks
soup gang isnt poor lmao
5:43 As someone who knows Java, this issue is most probably because Minecraft for some reason, (before versions after 1.12.2), uses a short, not an int or long, for map storage. Which means if the number of maps goes over the Java short integer limit of 32767, it overflows into the negatives.
Also, the negative integer limit for a short is -32768.
3:38 i need to rember that
Here is a reminder if you need to Remeber that
2:53 Whoever put Eazy E is a legend
I keep hearing the wrong type of MAP and I'm laughing my ass off.
with the 24h cooldown per map it would take 89.7130729 years to burn through them all, which is about 13 years more than the average human lifespan in the us, which should be more than enough.
