- A mixed media page in my Gelli Print hand made journal for the #nanojoumo challenge of art journaling every day of November. The prompt my friends and I chose for today is 'Birds'. My bird is collage and paper piecing with washi tape and paper scraps. I used Uni Posca pens for all the detailing and doodle elements. Enjoy!

A terrific idea for using the ever growing stash of Washi tape. It’s great eye candy and too tempting to buy a few rolls just cuz it’s so pretty!

Watching whatever TH-cam brings up on your channel as I relax on my couch. This one is fun and reminds me of another bird you made more recently with collage and painting. Very interesting to see how your skills have evolved!

Love this one. The tree reminds me of an illustration from Dr Seuss. Very cool idea on this whole project. .
Thank you +Cindy Naughton :) I didn't think of that but yes the tree may be influenced by my love of Dr. Seuss!
I totally Agree with your fly away ..........
Thank you +Annie Tanner :) I am dismayed that I can't seem to grow my own wings!
Shel, I do so enjoy listening to you, for you have such a nice, soothing, soft, voice. I really found myself, relaxing, while watching this pretty page come together. The gelli prints are so pretty, and I love how they make the tree and birdie stand out. Whenever, I need a little inspiration or just want to hear your precious giggle, I come to your channel, to see what you are up to or find a video, I either haven't seen or want to view again. You remind me of Renje at Creatboutique, for she too is nice to listen to and, like you, is very creative and talented. Thank you, Shel, for taking the time to make and upload this video and all the others, you have for us to enjoy.
Shel, I loved the background, tree, bird, and well just all of it. What a wonderful idea to use up some of your washi tape! I have so many just sitting in a beautiful glass container. I need to get it out and use it!
Thank you +Belinda Wiggins :) I too am a bit of a washi tape hoarder..it is just so pretty dang it! LOL

Shel, this was a great video to watch again. Your art gives me joy. I love to watch you create. I haven’t been able to do my own art as much as I would like to this last year, so I am living vicariously through you when I have time to watch lol. Thank you as always.
Thank you so much Val :) I hope you get some time free to do something creative soon!

Thank you for watching Sharon :)
Great idea! I am now considering making my oen decorative paper and paper strips for similar uses. A project in and of itself!
Thanks!
:)
Shel C Thanks! I am slowly but surely overhauling my studio area to make it actually function for me better (hopefully). But once that's all sorted, perhaps I'll have a better idea as to how much stuff I really should (and shouldn't) have on hand. Small spaces make a person choosier. In other words, I am keeping things simple for now but will try new things hopefully soon.
;)
Breathtaking. Obviously I am binging on Shel today! Rest assured I am sharing even if I forget to mention it! TFS
Thank you Evelyn :) I love when people find my older videos and are as excited as with the new ones!

Then others I really respect but say to my self as I am watching...I would do this or that differently LOL.

Thank you 😊
Very nice🙂
+Shelley Carlson Thanks so much 😊
Love this Shel. I really admire your collage work a lot. And speaking about Amazon, I am forever buying art stuff from them. I was asked one day recently, can we please have a break from Amazon deliveries? Lol. And Gelli plates too. My last Amazon purchase was a 5 x 7 Gelli plate (your fault I am afraid!!! LOL. You showed some gorgeous patterns you made using one and I just had to have one. I think I am Amazon's best customer in the north west of England) and I can't wait to use it. I hope to make unique paper designs to use with collage. To use Gelli plate art on collage would I be right to use the plate on say 80 gsm paper (plain printer paper) or baking paper? I am going to try out the printer paper first and see what kind of prints I get. Thank you, as always, for sharing your gorgeous collage art with us. It's great. xxx
Thank you Dorothy :) I am Amazon's best customer in southern Arizona lol. For collage work I like the light weight papers. Printer paper or baking paper or even tissue, serviettes, or newsprint. I am glad you are going to give gelli printing a go..it is so fun and hard to stop once you start lol.
