SUMMARY:-
Arudha lagna represents your public image, what you potray to the other people in the society. This is an important tool through which you can easily see that what will be career type and the level of success you will get in that.
For calculation of arudha lagna, follow the method which I have told you and don't follow any exceptions which you might have read in books and on the internet. There are no exceptions, they are just made up by the astrologers, they have no significance at all.
See the position of 10th lord of birth chart in arudha lagna and influnce of other planets on it. Also see the planets which are influencing the 1st house of arudha lagna and arudha lagna lord, as they will determine your career and success in life.
See the example which I have discussed, you will easily understand how Arudha Lagna is analysed.

but it is written in BPHS that there are exception in calculating Arudha lagna that 1st and 7th house are not to be considered as Arudha lagna

So I personally feel jaimini way is correct... Because prashna marga also goes towards same fluid methods of calculating arudha...

arudha or pada lagna is path of the ascendant ,houses or planets (pada in sanskrit also means path ) that means in whch direction is the path. For example if 1st lord goes to 2nd house then 3rd house is pada or path which shows native is puttng efforts to make gains (11th house from pada lagna is ascendant ) so he is spendng ( ascendant is in 12th house from pada) we all know vidya and dhana are two thngs which grow when spent which is why venus is exalted in 12th house in kalapurusha kundali being the ruler of 2nd house. i think there are two views regardng 1st house and 7th house becoming pada.

i read it too in bphs.but jaimini sutras translated by soorynarayan rao sir says " if house lord has moved to 4th house 7th house is pada "swaste daraha " he translated it as if the lord is in 4th then 7th is pada but quoted sentence also means if in 4th house 4th is itself pada. i sincerely dont understand why would maharsh jamini give simple calculations regarding counting after saying to know pada count the houses the lord has moved from the house. so i believe 1 and 7 cannot be pada is what maharshi jaimni has said in the sutras. anyone please correct me if i am wrong.

very nice sir,Jupiter has 3 eyes i.e. 5,7,9 .Sir there is no need to made additional charts.We can know this also through birth chart.There is only shifting of planets.All is same

Hi sir, verses from BPHS and Jaimini Sutras. Can we still afford to ignore the exceptions ?
The same Bhava or the 7th from it does not become its pada. When the pada falls in the same Bhava, the 10th there from be treated, as its pada. Similarly, when the 7th becomes the pada of a Bhava, the 4th from the original Bhava in question be treated, as its pada. If the ruler of a Bhava be in the 4th from the Bhava, then the very Bhava occupied be noted, as the Pada. (BPHS 29.4 - 29.5)
If the Lord of sign is in the fourth from it, the fourth house becomes the Arudha. (JS 1.1.31)
If the Lord of a sign is in the seventh from it, then the tenth house becomes the Arudha. (JS 1.1.32)

My arudha lagna is Capricorn and has saturn in the first house.
The 10th house ruler of my normal kundali is sun (leo) and is placed in the 10th house of my arudha kundali.
I want to be a successful singer. What should I do to make it happen?
