Now, after this, there is one more difference between between BPHS and Jaimini System is the number of chara karakas. Some texts suggests 8 karakas including Rahu, some say only 7 karakas. I even came across a document written by Shri PVR Narsimha Rao ji that if two planets are in the same degree (disregard the minutes, for example if Sun is 23 degrees 20 minutes and Mercury is 23 degrees 10 minutes, by disregarding the minutes, they both are 23 degrees) then 8 karakas are to be used. I would like to see if anyone has used this technique and whether it has worked?
