Today we're going to be taking a look at the updated version of the Stop Motion Helper addon. Additional features will be added later, so please remember, there's written tutorials both on the workshop page and within the mod itself through a help button in the settings menu of the addon.

Boschitt is a very seasoned animator and he continues to blow my mind every time he releases one.
This actually makes me wanna try that addon out. If it's THAT easy to do stop motion animation, I may consider giving it a try. Great job on this entry.

Another great thing to add is to let people know that the stand poser is not a part of the original gmod features it is a workshop subscription or download.
You can also now animate Cameras and Green Ringed items! :)

Using Fraps video recording in conjunction with smh_playback is much more effective because, in the more past Gmod videos that have stop motion helper being used, there are some elements within Gmod that might make your shots look off. Smoke, water, and other effects like them, tends to accelerate and freeze, which can be a bit problematic. The strategy that I propose is effective in countering this issue.
I stopped the animation writing "-smh_playback"
+smh_playback = play
-smh_playback= stop

Goddamit. Have you bought a Mac? I see bind_mac command in console and LaCie external drive which is Thunderbolt drive, who else would need it if not Mac users?
He could be where he has his gaming rig and a Mac to do video editing on and using the external drive to move information around between the Mac and PC.

FINALLY! The load and save feature works now! My gmod always crashes when I'm in the middle of animations and I've never been able to save them! This is awesome!!!

I think it'd be nice if they had visual indicator for the skeleton of the rag doll so you can get an idea of what one you've selected. I've messed with 3D software enough to know that THAT sort of feature is good for animations when you're working with a certain bone set.

Thanks for your tutorials and being so great to your fans! I obtained Gmod awhile back for Machinima- but I rarely use it as it was just frustrating for me to get the hang of it. I do stop-motions with regular Lego products rather than machinima- and the two seem like a big difference. But I am definitely going to go give Gmod another shot and see if I can master Stop Motion Helper similar to how I have mastered my traditional Stop-Motion software. Thank you for all of your help and keep continuing on making great content! As a beginning animator, this made my work way less hectic.
oh my god... 6 years... it felt like months...
I find it impossible to work on anything in GMOD. Everytime I do something, whether it be a machine, a cool scene, or even stop motion. I do it for 1 hour, then realize I'm on a videogame and go to a TTT server. I get distracted from doing work in GMOD, because of all the freedom you get in GMOD.
Does this mean you'll be doing Know Your Schitt videos more often?

Finally, this tutorial came out.
Two questions: 1) is there a command to make the menu a toggle so you do 'to have to hold the button down, and 2) what do you consider a good number of frames per second of movement on average?

The command +smh_menu and +smh_playback do not exist on my end. all the other commands do for some reason.

Am I the only having problems with saving?
It doesn't work with ragdolls when there are many frames on the timeline (10 frames or more for TF2 ragdolls, 11-12 (not sure) or more for some others). When I save and try loading the save file, it doesn't show an entity to select, and if I just select the save name in 'Saved scenes' menu and click 'Load', I get 'script errors' message.
And the broken save ends abruptly, NOT with something like '"EaseIn":0,"Position":5,"EaseOut":0}}}}}'
But it seems to work ok with props (for example, FurnitureBathtub001a).
What would happen if you were to apply an animation to a ragdoll that did not originally use it? Like for example, if you gave the ogre animation to Gman. What would happen?
Great video BoSchitt. I'm having fun messing about with it and making silly animations. Just one question if you or anyone else can help me. How do you delete scenes you've created and saved using this tool? Only, I've saved several test animations and soon I'm going to have the save/load menu pretty crowded
Never mind, I just read through the Help section again and saw it. Must have skimmed over it reading it first time!
I tried it out in Gmod before but the facial movements weren't working. Like I make ONE face for the next pose and yet the face doesn't change when I preview it.
For some reason if I edit a character's face it stays the same throughout all keyframes. Anyone know what's going on?
