Great points! I will say one thing about the post bounces, the spin of the ball does have quite an effect on the return trajectory. Not saying the bounces right now work, but they should still have a slight change instead of being a 1-to1 mirror
A mostly useless thing to add. The spin on the ball changes the trajectory by such a tiny amount it's negligible. These physics glitches are making the ball go a completely wrong way.
Spin definitely has an effect. However, the clip at 9:26 where Retals screams "WHAAAT?" - that's from one of his recent videos. Retals hit the ball to his left. It's going left, hits the backboard, and bounces RIGHT! It's like the corner of the net had an invisible imperfection or something that the ball hit. The spin on the ball was also nothing out of the ordinary. Sometimes the bounces are unrealistic
they dont want the game to peak. They rather have 1000 players spending money, instead of 100.000 players playing "their game" Since epic is in charge its purely marketing and profit, not the thrill of your own game being popular

They won’t. They’ve never once listened to the community. Which is why the games dying. We will look back it like the call of duty games. Went from being great to nothing but micro transactions for everything and now that community is gone.
Its epic were talking about, whether they want to keep the game alive is purely up to whatever profit margins some analyst is looking at. That's just how it is I hope rocket league is profitable enough to them but who knows really 🤷
Why would they? Epic Games has never once listened to any consumer in any game. For many many years before they even acquired RL, we all knew they only cared about money and not game quality. I'll be happy to sit here and watch more and more layoffs and see that company crumble into the ground. They had this coming for too long.

How can epic hear suggestions like these that have 0 or almost 0 downsides and not implement them? They are too focused on making money and not adding ACTUAL new content to pull OGs back into the game. Their priorities aren't straight that's for sure
Things I'd like to be added: 1. Chat with friends before you team up 2. Saved previous chats, so you for once remember who you played with the last time 3. Custom maps need to be official 4. If your tm8 disconnects, or leaves the game, your mmr loss is mitigated 5. Seperate freeplay with 2 players who are teamed up 6. 1v1 tournaments

The scary thing for me is how since the Epic transition, we've pretty much only seen things get removed. The only way to play custom maps on the new platform now is by using third party mods, for example. That's another large community (content creators, speedrunners, freestylers, training nolifers) already alienated. They also haven't formally committed to not banning bakkesmod as a part of their recent anticheat measures as far as I'm aware. If trading is removed even though no one wants that, what's next?
Honestly I feel bad for Psyonix this feels like a decision from epic games’ higher ups. I miss playing this game and it’s sad to see one of my favorite games ever, to come down like this basically saying “fuck you” to the community. I bet many of the Psyonix employees are not ones from pre epic having a lot of creative freedom. It feels like they are trying so hard to make it like Fortnite even though they are two very different communities.
I don't wanna be negative and on god I hope its an Epic issue and not Psyonix, however people said this exact same thing about Bungie and how it was Acti-blizz that made all the bad choices and forced them to introduce cashgrab content etc... Well ever since Bungie separated with Acti-blizz it's been the same/worse technically proving that the issue always came from Bungie and was just slightly enhanced when owned by a bigger corporation. The individual employees might have a lot of passion for the game, but the people who run Psyonix clearly is tone deaf and incompetent at PR and being true to their own words otherwise the reaction to a backlash is chain spamming Twt with shop items. And as JZR said this is literally hurting the casual, semi-hardcore players the most as they are your lifeline when it comes to spending on cosmetics and player trading gave people a lot of incentive to top up on credit and just go buy some stuff then later flip it and in case the price declined add a few things or add a bit more credit to it. RL had one of the nices player driven economies and they are crushing it.
No offense, but I don't feel bad for Psyonix at all. They made the choice to trade freedom (ex. the freedom to support RL players as they thought best) for a lot of money when they sold to Epic. They claimed it would greatly improve the game and that things otherwise wouldn't change. The thing is, they had no power at that point to claim anything, just like they have no power to preserve trading or provide roadmaps or do anything else Epic doesn't want to do.
Your assumption might be too far off. Given that Psyonix are happy and have close relationships with some of the Epic's higher ups. Which is the reason why they decided to join EGS to begin with. Psyonix's planning and managing a game is whack to begin with. I don't know about you, but I remember how stupid the F2P release was. Releasing a game with almost no UI for some features of the game that's still packed with the game. Only to add it in literally later on the same day. You can't excuse that at all. I was convinced that it was a slow downhill from there. Even their esports expansion into APAC failed spectacularly
Epic Games needs a reality check, theyre destroying the game at the moment, they “revived” it but now theyre just killing it again. They dont listen to us, so even after everything we’re saying, theyre just gonna do their own thing to make money. I recommend not buying anything from the itemshop again since theyre only doing this to make more money from it. Boycot the item shop people, cause always €/$20 for a standard wheel? Come on people. Blueprints were the beginning and we didnt know, look at it now. Just a silent and sneaky way to start turning this game into a “moneymaking” machine
13:57 This part is super important imo. The devs are just doing what Epic is telling them to. They don't have any influence, and it's very likely that Psyonix themselves wanted to make UE5 Rocket League happen, but Epic most likely said no (due to lack of funding, or any other reason).

I don't think we have to worry about anything because we still have core item drops. If I wanted to sell my account, I could always do that. Plus, you can do trade ups. And I'm pretty sure the free bit of stuff in the rocket pass is staying for good. (Sorry if my point is all over the place.)
@@Reaper93MV Playing against higher skilled players only gets you better.. even if you think they're way too good, watch back the replay and see what you could have done to stop them, then learn from it for future games.
I've been playing since the very first day of release, and before that. 2012, in sarp. I'm not generally active and voice my opinions into the community but I do often keep up with what's happening. I don't know why they keep making these stupid decisions. It just makes me want to come back to playing less and less

Thank you for speaking up about this, I completely agree with you. Ever since Psyonix sold out to Epic, I felt like they just threw away all the work they, as a small team, put into making this game so good and popular, starting basically from nothing. It's insane how they managed to get millions of players to play this game that no one even knew about before it released. All the way to building up an e-sports scene for the game. And they just gave it away to Epic for some pocket change. As someone who followed the development of RL in alpha stages and obviously played SARP too, it somehow feels sad to slowly watch this game fade away basically thanks to corporate greed, as I don't think there really is anything else to it, but it is what it is.
It’s really sad. One of my favorite games. As an early player as well it’s very aggravating seeing them ignore the player base and them do what they want. They used to care for us but now we’ve been thrown under the bus. Like have they not got enough money from fortnite? Why are they milking the rocket league community.
That initial rush of players was from some decent marketing with content creators. It was a random Markiplier video that got me hooked. There was also a huge amount of hushed whispers of a new up and coming esports title. People wanted something different and Psyonix was there to deliver(for a time).
I really want rocket labs to be back, i loved it, it was something different, and I Personally seemed to adapt better to the map than others. i just loved having a slight advantage on arctagon.
The fact that it was just different in anyway then other maps, but the ball behavior was the same... was so much fun. If they can keep around low player game modes such as snow day and chaos, why did they scrap that at all?!
One more thing I would suggest is a rotating weekly community spotlight gamemode from the community that makes workshop maps, because the workshop community works insanely hard and deserves more love

The game has been exactly the same for YEARS and they have not even remotely begun to address the most basic and core of problems that affect almost every person who plays the game. Great video JZR, hopefully Epic sees this and something changes soon.
Everything you said. 100%. Thank you for constantly holding the developers accountable (or at least trying). A couple things I've thought of for years are: 1. An accolade system where at the end of a match you can reward another player with a Kudos or a Thumbs Up for playing well. I really enjoyed how it worked in Overwatch some years ago, don't know how it works in O2 tho. 2. A system so we can Ignore other players entirely when queuing online. I'd like the ability to completely block someone from ever showing up in my games ever again, especially when they harass me/my team or are a blatant smurf. As far as I know the Block feature is only for chat, but we all know there's a lot a player can do without chatting that can still be obnoxious. It would be cool to see it work the other way around too, where you can select a player to Prefer them in future games so you have an increased chance to play them again. 3. I actually really enjoyed the non-standard maps when they were in rotation and would love to see a return of them in all modes. It kept the game interesting, kept you on your feet. I used to be really good at reading the bounces on the original Starbase map, but now it's been completely abandoned.
Point 2 should be more about adding fast moderation and tightening the rules. From time to time i get people muted for being chat toxic, but never when they destroy my games.

I love Rocket league since the first time i played it back in 2015 and i became the first time GC in Season 14 - than every Season till the last one and now this season - cause of smurfing. I played against enemys so much above my skill level - its insane - and sad and frustrating. Some days im so hyped to play and than i became 3 times the same Smurf against me... im almost about to quit playing rocket league - i hope with all my heart that epic/psyonix hear us and change something before its too late. Cause all the new players get clapped by smurfs - not just us in the higher ranks.. and i hear often "its too hard and make no fun at all, thats why i never played more than 10-20h" - 10-20hours ive played it on the first day, cause it was too much fun! Pls bring back the fun and dont remove all features of this amazing and outstanding game! You will make money, if u help the community, cause new players will come if the fun comes back and with them new payers!

I think rumble would work well with seasonal power ups like how apexs does with weapons, map changes, etc. Have a base set of power ups that doesnt ever change, then rotate like spikes and other + new powers can be introduced occasionally this way.

I feel like the team ranked could definitely be something a lot of the community would enjoy having a single rank and a team rank would be interested to play between i think, whilst keeping the regular ranked mode of course
Rocket league is done. This is what games companies do when they give up on a game. Squeeze as much money out of the game as they possibly can with no intention to actually develop it further. As someone with 3500 hours in the game, I hate to say it but it's just a fact. I think it's admirable that content creators are still clinging on in the hope that things will turn around but anyone who actually believes Epic still have any interest in developing the game further is delusional.
I think the main thing i want with demos is the ability to toggle the smokescreen in the video settings. having to guess what is happening through a demo can cost games especially at high ranks
i want to play the game, even just training but i refuse because i want the game to die so they finally understand and get the hint that we want change. im so tired of epic games ruining such good things. they're huge money grabbers
Respect for calling it out as a spotlight player. Trading removal doesn't bother me because trading was destroyed with the shop. My biggest issue is comp. Skill gaps are insane within the same level and smurfs, like you mentioned, are rampant. Many people that play, don't seem to take it serious and at this point you can't take it serious and enjoy the game.
Totally agree-not necessarily adding a “new” mechanic, but adding things that already make sense with what’s here That way the fidelity and flow increases more and more
All great ideas and ones I would love. I would add that a way to design decals and cars would be sweet too - would be hard to moderate, though, and would take away from their monetisation. Unlike you, I genuinely do feel like this (trading) is the final straw for me. I've almost 8k hours in the game but the lack of love I've felt over the years from Psyonix/Epic has sapped MY love. I used to be so excited for the new crates, new cars, getting better at the game, trading, watching people's videos, earning things that actually meant something. I'm looking to move on, and that is so sad to me.

I, as a PC player, want to add one more problem that I and my friends have: ON A COMPUTER MOUSE, JUMPING IS NOT AS HIGH AS A GAMEPAD, I bought 3 different computer mice, my jump is slower and lower than that of players on PC gamepad. Also, I can’t move the camera, also, the controls are worse! It’s not difficult to fix! Just like the servers and other problems of the game! It’s just necessary for the developers to monitor the game, and not just make money from it...
I still won't forgive Epic/Psyonix for the grimy little stunt they puled with the Redline event. They FINALLY released a cool FREE car (we just had to earn it) only to turn around and slap us in the face by later selling painted variants of that same car in the shop. Grimy ass move imo...
Man, I really loved Rocket League back on release. Played for 800-ish hours, mostly solo. Got hardstuck D3/C1 and just lost interest as I didn't see myself improving anymore, even while doing actual training etc. Also the toxicity in ranked, sometimes even casual, felt like I was back in a MOBA game like LoL... Haven't really played the last few years, but seeing something like this is just really sad. What a state the game is in...
Back when every car had their own unique hit boxes. I used to collect them all. I bought all of them in de DLC shop! And now my money spend on that was worthless cause u can just get most of em for free. Plus collecting them now, is pointless cause if you have 1 with that hit box, no need to get a different car with the same hit box. Like u said it’s not exiting anymore. Plus waaaay to expensive! Back than, a DLC car was €2. Now you can put a zero behind that number (€20) for a new featured car. What are they thinking??? And I WAS a part of the trading community, until they fcked that up with the item shop and blueprints. So them removing trading is sad, yes. But for me they already fcked that up years ago with the free to play update (item shop + blueprints). Still waiting for a painted Gold Octane in the shop btw. That’s the only good thing I’m still hopeful for.
The moment EpicGames TANKED a game named Paragon that was super popular, I never trusted them with my money again. Systemic mismanagement and mishandling of IP's and naturalized values made by a community predating them. I try to avoid even entering the launcher on PC.

Idk about the team q mode. Overwatch 2 did that recently and nobody played it except like me and the other 20 people. You'd be in q for hours. Get a match and they'd have like a top 100 player and the rest of the team/lobby is average rank. Granted rocket league is smaller teams so maybe it's not as bad but team q has alot of issues. Imagine a SSL playing with there casual friends in team q and go up against like plats. Smurfing makes it even worse

It's gotten to a point where I genuinely thought the original "psyonix joining epic" announcement from 2019 was a joke or satire because of the "community-driven game" part. It's so sad to see how little they care about the community yet claim that their principles lie with us. Such hypocritical behavior. If at least they were honest about it...
The main reason i gave up playing was because of smurfing. From Diamond 1 to Champ 3 either u get a player like SSL or a bronze. Whats the point even, to get crappy rewards at the end of a season? I hope they lose even more money because of this...
I haven't played in nearly 2 years. Came back to play a couple games and see what was new. Imagine my surprise when the item shop is the only thing that got an upgrade. They now have multiple limited time bundles instead of just 1. I believe tournaments are the only new major feature that has come in the past 4 years, since Epic took over. We all said it back when Epic took over, but Epic will kill the game.
We need an organized boycott and now is the PERFECT time, it's the off season and most pros and content creators are angry just like us. JZR can you talk to your peers and organize a boycott? I'm serious, let's leave the game as a community for one or two weeks, I promise these companies will start listening to us again.
For some reason I'm not even surprised by this decision. It already started when they ruined the battle pass from not knowing what you were gonna get, to now knowing what you get and get the item you want after like 200 tiers. Because of the stupid "gambling" law here in Europe. That's how also where I live, with csgo. They removed the option to buy crates years ago.
i agree with most of the points but i got a few concerns. the reason why the non standard maps were taken out was because in ranked it was literally unfair if you randomly get a map you're not good at more often. jzr himself said that he doesn't like rng when he came to the demo discussion so if you would implement new maps, do it in an extra playlist and don't pit them into regular ranked. now to the choosing of the spawn location. i remember that in the exhibition matches (only your platform and bots, not even lan) the camera was controllable after you got destroyed. in order to use the spawn selection more effectively this should be the case for online matches as well. and finally: that jzr doesn't like spawntrap is his own personal opinion and even though most things said are objectively good and the idea is good, it's not good to proof the usefulness of something objectively good with a subjective argument. i don't care if i hurt someone's personal feelings while destroying them in a game (and don't mind getting demod myself) and if done efficiently a spawntrap makes 3v3 to a 2v2 or 2v2 -> 1v1 so depending on the situation it's not hindering your team. we're all on the same side, let's hope for the best
Demolitions have been fixed years ago in other games.. When you spawn in just have immunity until you start moving or until a certain amount of time goes by. As for removing trading, I don't think they'll get a lot more money since I remember buying credits so I can buy items from traders that I haven't seen in the store for months / years.. People buy credits all the time for trading and they'll lose so much money because of this I think.
As a semi-professional Fortnite player, I can’t agree that I don’t care about a racing mode or my inventory related to it. I occasionally play rocket league for fun and have traded with my friends, however I know that items like alpha boost cost literal thousands. I feel like if rocket league were to do anything, they either should revert their change, or at least give an option to refund your rocket league accounts like there is in Fortnite because of the FTC’s suing them.
i disagree for the map change, the same map everywhere is much better, add a playlist for it if you want to add other than standard maps, and DON'T EVER put them in rlcs if it's not a special event
Everyone just gotta stop spending money on items. They don't care about our opinions, if they make more money off this(and they will), then they'll do it. If you don't like it then stop spending money on items once the change takes effect
*EASY FIX FOR TRADING!!!!* Just make credits non tradable, if people want the pass or anything from the store they have to buy it in game but items will still be tradable and the community will not devistated..
The respawn clip shows exactly why respawns have to be random. If it is predictable, players can be continuously demoed. The other car tries to get a third demo at the other side, but the player respawns in the same spot, breaking the cycle.

I was already on a hair-trigger to quit RL before this. Anything small and I was done. But this is huge. Now I'm ready to watch RL end and see Epic Games' company crash and burn. I've never liked EG before because they were always a greedy company who never listened to their consumers, and as soon as they got RL, I knew it was over. I'm ready to watch the chaos ensue.

Really great ideas for the game. I have been wondering why there isn't separate solo and team mmr, that would make lot of sense. Also it would be nice if they could list teams by rank, it would mean lot for lower level players. There could be overall best teams in certain rank, best win-to-lose ratio listing and even best players saves/goals/assist in season. This would make playing more fun for everyone and not just for top100 players/teams. How cool do think it would be to some gold team be the best gold team in the game or some silver to have most points made even theyr team was not the best in theyr rank. I started playing rl close to 2 years ago and currently around high diamond to low champ. In that time my gamesense has improved a lot, but with all the smurfing and mmr drops from psyonix, more and more skilled players meet much lower level than back when I started. I don't care what rank I am, but this dropping players to lobbys where they don't belong is making new players quiting and really bad gaming experience as games are way unbalanced. New account starts around gold so unlucky higher skill level players can end up with newer players and de-rank even more. So this will create punch down snowball effect for majority of playerbase. It's harder to fix now as they have waited too long with this current way. If they would been lowered new account starting point and just kept lifting how much mmr you need to get to certain level, this problem would not exist. I think theyr biggest fear in that would be having harder to find games so they like to pack most players to similar ranks.

Would love to see a boost gauge that’s optional to see for teammates could help a lot when solo queuing with people that don’t com. Also idea for customizable quick chat options-obviously it could be abused but would be really useful if you have a specific playstyle to com out specifically what you want

Why would they? Epic Games has never once listened to any consumer in any game. For many many years before they even acquired RL, we all knew they only cared about money and not game quality. The scary thing for me is how since the Epic transition, we've pretty much only seen things get removed. The only way to play custom maps on the new platform now is by using third party mods, for example. That's another large community (content creators, speedrunners, freestylers, training nolifers) already alienated. They also haven't formally committed to not banning bakkesmod as a part of their recent anticheat measures as far as I'm aware. If trading is removed even though no one wants that, what's next?

Honestly I feel bad for Psyonix this feels like a decision from epic games’ higher ups. I miss playing this game and it’s sad to see one of my favorite games ever, to come down like this basically saying “fuck you” to the community. I bet many of the Psyonix employees are not ones from pre epic having a lot of creative freedom. It feels like they are trying so hard to make it like Fortnite even though they are two very different communities.
I don't wanna be negative and on god I hope its an Epic issue and not Psyonix, however people said this exact same thing about Bungie and how it was Acti-blizz that made all the bad choices and forced them to introduce cashgrab content etc... Well ever since Bungie separated with Acti-blizz it's been the same/worse technically proving that the issue always came from Bungie and was just slightly enhanced when owned by a bigger corporation.
The individual employees might have a lot of passion for the game, but the people who run Psyonix clearly is tone deaf and incompetent at PR and being true to their own words otherwise the reaction to a backlash is chain spamming Twt with shop items.
And as JZR said this is literally hurting the casual, semi-hardcore players the most as they are your lifeline when it comes to spending on cosmetics and player trading gave people a lot of incentive to top up on credit and just go buy some stuff then later flip it and in case the price declined add a few things or add a bit more credit to it. RL had one of the nices player driven economies and they are crushing it.
The problem is that people play Rocket League despite of Epic Games, not because of it.
No offense, but I don't feel bad for Psyonix at all. They made the choice to trade freedom (ex. the freedom to support RL players as they thought best) for a lot of money when they sold to Epic. They claimed it would greatly improve the game and that things otherwise wouldn't change. The thing is, they had no power at that point to claim anything, just like they have no power to preserve trading or provide roadmaps or do anything else Epic doesn't want to do.

Psyonix's planning and managing a game is whack to begin with. I don't know about you, but I remember how stupid the F2P release was. Releasing a game with almost no UI for some features of the game that's still packed with the game. Only to add it in literally later on the same day. You can't excuse that at all. I was convinced that it was a slow downhill from there. Even their esports expansion into APAC failed spectacularly

Thank you for speaking up about this, I completely agree with you. Ever since Psyonix sold out to Epic, I felt like they just threw away all the work they, as a small team, put into making this game so good and popular, starting basically from nothing. It's insane how they managed to get millions of players to play this game that no one even knew about before it released. All the way to building up an e-sports scene for the game. And they just gave it away to Epic for some pocket change. As someone who followed the development of RL in alpha stages and obviously played SARP too, it somehow feels sad to slowly watch this game fade away basically thanks to corporate greed, as I don't think there really is anything else to it, but it is what it is.
It’s really sad. One of my favorite games. As an early player as well it’s very aggravating seeing them ignore the player base and them do what they want. They used to care for us but now we’ve been thrown under the bus. Like have they not got enough money from fortnite? Why are they milking the rocket league community.

That initial rush of players was from some decent marketing with content creators. It was a random Markiplier video that got me hooked. There was also a huge amount of hushed whispers of a new up and coming esports title. People wanted something different and Psyonix was there to deliver(for a time).
I really want rocket labs to be back, i loved it, it was something different, and I Personally seemed to adapt better to the map than others. i just loved having a slight advantage on arctagon.

Literally every idea and suggestion you presented would be incredible to see implemented. The game has been exactly the same for YEARS and they have not even remotely begun to address the most basic and core of problems that affect almost every person who plays the game. A couple things I've thought of for years are:
1. An accolade system where at the end of a match you can reward another player with a Kudos or a Thumbs Up for playing well. I really enjoyed how it worked in Overwatch some years ago, don't know how it works in O2 tho.
2. A system so we can Ignore other players entirely when queuing online. I'd like the ability to completely block someone from ever showing up in my games ever again, especially when they harass me/my team or are a blatant smurf. As far as I know the Block feature is only for chat, but we all know there's a lot a player can do without chatting that can still be obnoxious. It would be cool to see it work the other way around too, where you can select a player to Prefer them in future games so you have an increased chance to play them again.
3. I actually really enjoyed the non-standard maps when they were in rotation and would love to see a return of them in all modes. It kept the game interesting, kept you on your feet. I used to be really good at reading the bounces on the original Starbase map, but now it's been completely abandoned.
Point 2 should be more about adding fast moderation and tightening the rules. From time to time i get people muted for being chat toxic, but never when they destroy my games.
Honestly just spread word of how bad epic is everywhere you go. They ruin their games for money.

I love Rocket league since the first time i played it back in 2015 and i became the first time GC in Season 14 - than every Season till the last one and now this season - cause of smurfing. I played against enemys so much above my skill level - its insane - and sad and frustrating. Some days im so hyped to play and than i became 3 times the same Smurf against me... im almost about to quit playing rocket league - i hope with all my heart that epic/psyonix hear us and change something before its too late.
Cause all the new players get clapped by smurfs - not just us in the higher ranks.. and i hear often "its too hard and make no fun at all, thats why i never played more than 10-20h" - 10-20hours ive played it on the first day, cause it was too much fun! Pls bring back the fun and dont remove all features of this amazing and outstanding game! You will make money, if u help the community, cause new players will come if the fun comes back and with them new payers!

I think rumble would work well with seasonal power ups like how apexs does with weapons, map changes, etc. Have a base set of power ups that doesnt ever change, then rotate like spikes and other + new powers can be introduced occasionally this way.

This is what games companies do when they give up on a game. Squeeze as much money out of the game as they possibly can with no intention to actually develop it further. As someone with 3500 hours in the game, I hate to say it but it's just a fact.
I think it's admirable that content creators are still clinging on in the hope that things will turn around but anyone who actually believes Epic still have any interest in developing the game further is delusional.
I think the main thing i want with demos is the ability to toggle the smokescreen in the video settings. having to guess what is happening through a demo can cost games especially at high ranks

Respect for calling it out as a spotlight player. Trading removal doesn't bother me because trading was destroyed with the shop. My biggest issue is comp. Skill gaps are insane within the same level and smurfs, like you mentioned, are rampant. Many people that play, don't seem to take it serious and at this point you can't take it serious and enjoy the game.

Unlike you, I genuinely do feel like this (trading) is the final straw for me. I've almost 8k hours in the game but the lack of love I've felt over the years from Psyonix/Epic has sapped MY love. I used to be so excited for the new crates, new cars, getting better at the game, trading, watching people's videos, earning things that actually meant something.

I, as a PC player, want to add one more problem that I and my friends have: ON A COMPUTER MOUSE, JUMPING IS NOT AS HIGH AS A GAMEPAD, I bought 3 different computer mice, my jump is slower and lower than that of players on PC gamepad. Also, I can’t move the camera, also, the controls are worse! It’s not difficult to fix! Just like the servers and other problems of the game! It’s just necessary for the developers to monitor the game, and not just make money from it...
I still won't forgive Epic/Psyonix for the grimy little stunt they puled with the Redline event. They FINALLY released a cool FREE car (we just had to earn it) only to turn around and slap us in the face by later selling painted variants of that same car in the shop. Grimy ass move imo...
Man, I really loved Rocket League back on release. Played for 800-ish hours, mostly solo. Got hardstuck D3/C1 and just lost interest as I didn't see myself improving anymore, even while doing actual training etc. Also the toxicity in ranked, sometimes even casual, felt like I was back in a MOBA game like LoL... Haven't really played the last few years, but seeing something like this is just really sad. What a state the game is in...
Back when every car had their own unique hit boxes. I used to collect them all. I bought all of them in de DLC shop! And now my money spend on that was worthless cause u can just get most of em for free.
Plus collecting them now, is pointless cause if you have 1 with that hit box, no need to get a different car with the same hit box.

Idk about the team q mode. Overwatch 2 did that recently and nobody played it except like me and the other 20 people. You'd be in q for hours. Get a match and they'd have like a top 100 player and the rest of the team/lobby is average rank. Granted rocket league is smaller teams so maybe it's not as bad but team q has alot of issues. Imagine a SSL playing with there casual friends in team q and go up against like plats. Smurfing makes it even worse

It's gotten to a point where I genuinely thought the original "psyonix joining epic" announcement from 2019 was a joke or satire because of the "community-driven game" part. The main reason i gave up playing was because of smurfing. From Diamond 1 to Champ 3 either u get a player like SSL or a bronze. Whats the point even, to get crappy rewards at the end of a season? I hope they lose even more money because of this...
I haven't played in nearly 2 years. Came back to play a couple games and see what was new. Imagine my surprise when the item shop is the only thing that got an upgrade. They now have multiple limited time bundles instead of just 1.
I believe tournaments are the only new major feature that has come in the past 4 years, since Epic took over. We all said it back when Epic took over, but Epic will kill the game.
We need an organized boycott and now is the PERFECT time, it's the off season and most pros and content creators are angry just like us. JZR can you talk to your peers and organize a boycott? For some reason I'm not even surprised by this decision. It already started when they ruined the battle pass from not knowing what you were gonna get, to now knowing what you get and get the item you want after like 200 tiers. Because of the stupid "gambling" law here in Europe. That's how also where I live, with csgo. They removed the option to buy crates years ago.
i agree with most of the points but i got a few concerns. the reason why the non standard maps were taken out was because in ranked it was literally unfair if you randomly get a map you're not good at more often. jzr himself said that he doesn't like rng when he came to the demo discussion so if you would implement new maps, do it in an extra playlist and don't pit them into regular ranked. now to the choosing of the spawn location. i remember that in the exhibition matches (only your platform and bots, not even lan) the camera was controllable after you got destroyed. in order to use the spawn selection more effectively this should be the case for online matches as well.
and finally: that jzr doesn't like spawntrap is his own personal opinion and even though most things said are objectively good and the idea is good, it's not good to proof the usefulness of something objectively good with a subjective argument. i don't care if i hurt someone's personal feelings while destroying them in a game (and don't mind getting demod myself) and if done efficiently a spawntrap makes 3v3 to a 2v2 or 2v2 -> 1v1 so depending on the situation it's not hindering your team.

Demolitions have been fixed years ago in other games.. When you spawn in just have immunity until you start moving or until a certain amount of time goes by. As for removing trading, I don't think they'll get a lot more money since I remember buying credits so I can buy items from traders that I haven't seen in the store for months / years.. People buy credits all the time for trading and they'll lose so much money because of this I think.
As a semi-professional Fortnite player, I can’t agree that I don’t care about a racing mode or my inventory related to it. I occasionally play rocket league for fun and have traded with my friends, however I know that items like alpha boost cost literal thousands. I feel like if rocket league were to do anything, they either should revert their change, or at least give an option to refund your rocket league accounts like there is in Fortnite because of the FTC’s suing them.

Just make credits non tradable, if people want the pass or anything from the store they have to buy it in game but items will still be tradable and the community will not devistated..
The respawn clip shows exactly why respawns have to be random. If it is predictable, players can be continuously demoed. The other car tries to get a third demo at the other side, but the player respawns in the same spot, breaking the cycle.

I was already on a hair-trigger to quit RL before this. Anything small and I was done. But this is huge. Now I'm ready to watch RL end and see Epic Games' company crash and burn. I think making a top 100 that is per region would be huge to motivate top players on the smaller regions to actually play ranked. In OCE the good players only do 6mans and scrims and ranked is dead above gc1

The only problem with no demo is that I can still bump. Haha getting sent flying down the field is honestly worse then respawning sometimes
i disagree with your maps and control ideas, like why tf would you want that? it's just another game, this one isn't that at all.
Solo queue/partied ranked vs "Team Ranked" (separate MMR) would be so cool man. I wish they had that years ago.

If there no change I'm leaving too its nothing we all can do about it its there call vs ours so pretty much they going to do what they want to do. 😕 basically just sad in a way but i enjoy it just from time to time it got useless to me
lots of great ideas and points, and all it does is make me sad because they will completely ignore everything you've said and just continue prioritizing microtransactions just like every other game out there.
I really don't care about trading, and this change still doesn't make any sense to me. Love some of your other ideas.

Really great ideas for the game. I have been wondering why there isn't separate solo and team mmr, that would make lot of sense. Also it would be nice if they could list teams by rank, it would mean lot for lower level players. There could be overall best teams in certain rank, best win-to-lose ratio listing and even best players saves/goals/assist in season. This would make playing more fun for everyone and not just for top100 players/teams. How cool do think it would be to some gold team be the best gold team in the game or some silver to have most points made even theyr team was not the best in theyr rank. I started playing rl close to 2 years ago and currently around high diamond to low champ. In that time my gamesense has improved a lot, but with all the smurfing and mmr drops from psyonix, more and more skilled players meet much lower level than back when I started. I don't care what rank I am, but this dropping players to lobbys where they don't belong is making new players quiting and really bad gaming experience as games are way unbalanced. New account starts around gold so unlucky higher skill level players can end up with newer players and de-rank even more. So this will create punch down snowball effect for majority of playerbase. It's harder to fix now as they have waited too long with this current way. If they would been lowered new account starting point and just kept lifting how much mmr you need to get to certain level, this problem would not exist. I think theyr biggest fear in that would be having harder to find games so they like to pack most players to similar ranks.
Every single one of these ideas are way too good and would make the game way too much better for them to ever be a thing. I'll keep these ideas in my dreams though

5v5 or 6v6 in a big ass map would be like actually playing car football

Would love to see a boost gauge that’s optional to see for teammates could help a lot when solo queuing with people that don’t com. Also idea for customizable quick chat options-obviously it could be abused but would be really useful if you have a specific playstyle to com out specifically what you want
