Budget Sim Chassis Review - Next Level Racing GT Lite

  • เผยแพร่เมื่อ 14 ธ.ค. 2020
  • Next Level Racing recently came out with the FGT Lite sim chassis. This simrig was the least expensive full chassis that we had ever tested. It was a perfect rig for those first getting into sim racing. And now they have done it again and made the entry point of sim racing even more affordable by releasing the GT-Lite sim chassis.
    The GT Lite sim chassis is a lightweight, collapsible and highly compatible simrig. At only $229 it is now the least expensive full chassis that I have ever seen. Like its bigger brother the GT-Lite is ready to go with all common sim gear and will accommodate a Wheel, Pedals and shifter all for that low price.
    Here is a link to the NLR GT Lite Chasssis: nextlevelracin...
    The immediate question is this, at only $229 can the GT Lite make a full time sim racer happy? Is this the perfect starter rig? These questions are answered in our review.
    Shaun Cole of The Simpit takes you through the GT-Lite chassis from setup to driving in this review.

    I’m that exact user your talking about!
    So happy with this! I never could afford to dedicate a whole room to sim racing.
    So to get this and my thrustmaster t300RS GT for less than $1000 i’m over the moon. P.S if you tighten the wheel mount really tight there is no wobble.
    Highly recommend the GT Lite

    This is perfect for me. I live in a 2 bed flat, there ain't a lot of room. I've been racing F1 on a Saturday afternoon since 2015 using a controller, lately, in a 'normal seat' in front of a 55". This light weight cockpit is the perfect entry level solution for me, together with an entry level wheel (Thrustmaster T300).
    The foldability is the selling point for me living in our flat. It may be deckchair-ish, but perfect.
    Great honest review, I'll take one of your guys advice and use the strap to secure the wheel base a little better. Being a family guy and now disabled it's the best I can afford.
    I was once told, " If you can't get what you want, want what you can get.
    Many thanks.
    I pick them up Monday 😉

      Hi, can I ask you how big is it when folded? In cm. Thank you.

    • @jester3265
      @jester3265 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I'll be honest, since I've had it, I've not folded it away as I practice daily and race three times a week but, it is easy to fold and it's "similar" in size to........a deckchair and a half in width, a coffee table in depth and just above a big armchair in height or.......14" or so in depth 24" across and stands 42" high. "All" these measurements are approximate. I will say, I'm not a big guy and use two large feather cushions on the seat, and a 'normal' size cushion behind me but I like to be close ish to the wheel for GT driving. I love it, it's great to drive in, I do a continuous 5 1/5 hrs driving every weekend and it's like sitting in a cockpit. I use a strap to go alongside the right hand side to stabilise my wheel but if you didn't want to its not essential.

    There is a strap for the wheel deck , you put it under the seat bar and pull tight , the wheel doesn't move or wobble at all once tightened!!

  • @GeneralApex

    I just purchased this GT Lite. I am also the owner of the GTR Simulator - GTA-F Model. What bothered me about the GTR was the height of the simulator off the floor and the seat was very uncomfortable after a short while. Coupled with very bad knees, getting in and out was becoming a struggle. I'm hoping the GT Lite will solve this problem.

    I just found your video and wanted to say thank you! Great video. Do you know the Playseat Challenge? Its even cheaper and I wish you could compare those or maybe you already have? Also a little wish for the future: If one of the features is the possibility to collapse it I would really appreciate it if you could show that a little bit more in detail to see how much space is still needed. But still amazing work here!

    I have been considering either this or the playseat challenge for over a week and I just can't deside...
    This is great in that it comes with a shifter mount and would be easier to maybe mount a handbrake, but it looks less comfortable than the challenge, but is it tho? from my days of research i for some reason prefere the challenge, but since it doesn't have a gear mount and i have to custom make those, i just can't decide ^^ someone said the gt made his back strain after just a couple of minutes, and that the challenge was much better to sit in, but since i'm not able to try any of them, i just don't know for sure..

    • @nothingEvil101
      @nothingEvil101 3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      If you still haven’t decided yet, I am 6’3”, 90kg and the Challenge was too small for me and gave me pain in the shoulders/upper back after a while. I guess if you’re smaller it could be good though. But it does have noticeable flex and wobble.

      @@xeric1953 hey, yeah i went for the gtf lite. It actually worked quite well for some time, i upgraded to csl dd and fanatec v3 inverted pedals, was a bit of a hassle to mount them both, but made it work and the only downside is this chair isn't exactly made to support the forces of these equipments. I mean you wouldn't excpect to anyhow, but avtually it workes quite well, the only thing is the chair is slowly bending a little bit, så the pedals are now at a 5 degree angle to the rest of the chair. But not very noticable unless you look at it closely.
      The new pedals helps drastically with lap times, so does the new wheel. Not thinking of upgrading the seat for at least a year, so i would say the f gt lite is a good buy!
      Do remember to tighten the locking mechanisms tightly tho, i had a heavier friend try the seat and it collapsed, because i hadn't tightene'd it enough😂

    Just not comparable to the playseat challenge, this one takes a lifetime and skill to fold or set up, the other is a breeze. Curious why there is no mention to that🤔

    • @xeric1953
      @xeric1953 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think this company didn't have immediate folding away in mind that the other did for the Playseat Challenge. judging by how little you can fold this one down before the wheel and pedals get in the way, I think the GT lite was intended for folding down in long term storage situations where you would completely unmount the wheel and pedals.
