It's an accessory- like a Birkin bag for grown men. I would consider another Tesla vehicle with the self driving capability, but this thing just screams obnoxious person - unless of course you have a youtube channel in which case it is a marketing tool.
First time I charged my Tesla with the CCS adapter, I realized I needed to pull the handle out with the adapter or else the same thing happens. Simply don’t press the button that releases the hook. Eventually that won’t be a problem, since the Tesla NACS style plug is becoming the standard anyway. I believe your truck said not charging when you left it at night (I noticed it in the video). You can also check from your phone. Agree on the cable lengths of the Superchargers. V4 Tesla chargers that are coming out have longer cables. Last, if you go into charging on your Tesla’s screen, you can see what the last Supercharger session cost. It also changes in real time as the vehicle charges. You can also go into your account on the app to see the actual charges (you’ll also get a daily email with a receipt), not the charging summary screen. That has all your charging for the last month or year including your charging at home based on your KW charges that you put in. Probably includes the charging at the dealer / store. The card needs to be placed on the phone charger to activate the vehicle, or at the door pillar to open it. Tesla has great new user videos. I watched them at least once when I bought mine last year. After a year of use, 18,000 miles later, I love the tech and how it all works and integrates. When I drive my ICE vehicles, I am frustrated by how dumb they are and the need for a physical key. Agree on the towing though, seems like the only EV that tows somewhat reasonably is the Chevrolet Silverado EV. However, without towing, I like the Cybertruck better.
This video is the epitome of not reading the manual. So many complaints that would take 3 seconds to fix by reading the manual. OR ironically enough, watching a TH-cam video on all of the features.

I have a Rivian with over 10k miles of towing have an open car hauler that weighs 7k loaded which gets way better efficiency then my boat which weights half. Aerodynamics matter way more then weight for ev towing.
I seriously doubt you have 10k miles of towing only distance on that EV you got. You may have towed and have 10 on the chassis, but you're saying, coast to coast to coast to coast to coa....nah, I don't think so 😅
18:20 up here in Muskoka, what a lot of the Toronto people do is instead of hauling their boat up every weekend, they will rent a spot in a local storage yard, park the boat there when they are done for the weekend, then haul it home at the end of the season. The issue is you are limited to only boating up here BUT with 10,000 lakes, you never run out of options. Sure you incur the storage fees per month, but the whole month ends up costing the diff in gas bringing it up and back home in 1 weekend.

I sold my 8 year old Tesla Model S 90 D due to the battery warranty expiring and grabbed a 2023 Jayco Terrain Sprinter Campervan (Diesel). People who know me were shocked because I was always a big EV fan boy. When my kids got into motocross, we went all electric until I realized gas is way faster (for 50cc at least). Although I'm now diesel with the van, I can tow no problem and my mileage is pretty close to my friend's Toyota 4Runner SUV. I also have 10 kwh of battery which is bigger than the battery in my Mitsubishi plug in hybrid and I'm able to charge the van house battery really fast (often way over 30 amps) with the 2nd alternator while driving. I was on the waiting list up here in Canada for the Cybertruck but I'm glad it's simply not a truck that you could use effectively for something like motocross. I was worried my Van would be outdated really quickly, but I think it will take another 10 to 15 years before EV tech really advances to the capabilities of today's best ICE trucks.

Think of it as not a range issue, but a cost issue. You towed 63 miles and it cost you $50. With a diesel, fuel is what? $4 a gallon max in NH? Figure 15 mpg. Maybe 5 gallons, overestimating. So $20 for a diesel tow and $50 for electric. So how's an EV cheaper than diesel or gas?
It's hilarious that people argue about how much money they save on gas or how much time they're saving by not having to go to the gas station. But then they do shit like this where they spend hours waiting for the thing to charge. There's this Supercharger location at my local mall in CT and every single weekend I drive by there, without fail there will be at least 1 Tesla driver sitting in his car, waiting for his POS to charge. What a wonderful way to spend the weekend!
Lol if we wait it's by choice , most of us goto whatever facility it's near , every SC is near something where you can buy some food and washrooms. Also, a tesla leaves home fully charged . Unfortunately I can't say that about my gas vehicles. Is the wait too long charging , yes ! Too bad we are after 30+ years on a anti China streak. Australia the best selling cars are Warren buffet owned BYD from China and other EV from there . They have faster charging cars, sodium batteries depending on mfg , and even a company that has stations that swap your battery with a full battery in 5 minutes flat. Instead of doing to the Chinese and learing from them amd adopting thier stuff, as they did, when we were all supposedly smarter than them , we're like the spurned lover who decides, we don't rall to them . We could all have a better built , cheaper , faster charge or system to be 100, if our government wasn't so busy making the country they sucked up to starting with president Nixon , ending with trump & biden. Instead we are busy handing a south African proven liar the keys to our future.
Tesla people are usually a little weird. They like sitting in their beloved Tesla watching Netflix in a gas station parking lot somewhere. It gives them more time to be in their happy place 😂
bad call driving 80 while towing that behemoth. You will get lots more efficiency if you slow down. That's what I found out from my m3, although i'm not towing. And don't pay attention to the "miles left" on the tesla screen. Tesla lies outright anyway about your remaining miles (it seems to assume you're driving 40mph not 75mph), and the software doesn't account for your tow. Pay attention to the percentage instead. Also make sure you put the navigation on before you do the charging, it all works much better--one of the strengths of the Tesla system is this software that accounts for charging and bringing you to a supercharger. Hope you're going to list this as a business advertising expense on your taxes (this is not tax advice).
Towing is definitely going to impact range, but speed’s going to be the killer for long distances. Like someone else said, set your charge % limit to 100% either on the screen or thru the app next time and you won’t cap at 80%, and you’ll avoid the idle fees. Same thing as the other person said, there’s a spot you stick the keycard for the car to read that it’s there and function. See if you can find someone with a 3D printer to get yourself some center caps. I’m down the road in MA, probly print some for you if you don’t know anyone.
The Cuber truck is not the most aerodynamically efficient vehicle. Couple that to a towed boat that also has poor aerodynamic efficiency and then drive at 80 miles an hour and you are using a lot of energy to push air aside. If you are getting 1/3rd the range at 80mph you will get 2/3rds the range at 56mph. It’s simple maths; the energy being used is proportional to the square of the speed, 80 squared is 6400. To double the range you need to reduce the energy consumption by half. Half of 6400 = 3200 and the square root of 3200 is just over 56. I would bet that the Cummings ,without a trailer, has gas milage of about 24 mpg at 55mph. When towing the heavy boat at 80mph it will be lucky to achieve 8mpg. Towing is equally destructive of gas milage and battery range.
Majority of the times semi trucks are in traffic? Whomever said that doesn’t have a clue about trucking industry. Come to Midwest to see those semi trucks fly at 75 mph.
Is it true that EV manufacturers recommend charging to only 80% to prevent damage to the battery? And if so is the range they advertise based on the 80% or 100% which of course they say you should not do?
It's OK to charge to 100% as long as you're going to use it. It degrades the battery faster if you leave it at 100% for extended periods of time. So, if you're going on a road trip, charge to 100% but for every day driving, just charge to 80% and keep it plugged in every night so you always have a 80% battery depending on your charger and how much you drive in a day.
It's the same with gas vehicles when towing or speeding. All the safety features deemed an "inconvenience" are actually very cool and useful for doing other than creating youtube content. I like the video, though.
I tow my Sea Doo with my Model Y to the lake a few times a week. Of course not at my max towing capacity which is 3,500 lbs. Im only seeing a 10% reduction in efficiency.
Good video, but….. you exaggerated a bit. You didn’t charge correctly the night before. Subtract that first charge from your trip. Then, at the end of the video you said it would have taken you two charges to get home. One charge to 100% is all you needed
I think semi is initially going to be for people like Amazon and USPS and companies that use day cabs on daily "point to point" deliveries. For instance us mail has a truck going Chicago to Detroit and back in 8 hours. Or auto parts factory makes daily delivery from plant to plant. Not over the road drivers, yet.

There doesn't appear to be any benefit or need for this vehicle that can't be met by any other on the market. You've lost time, it's costing you more money, you are presented with constant limitation, you are experiencing constant anxiety, etc. The headache is not worth it.

If you decide to pull 11,000lbs learning to own it I’d suggest buying a small gas generator to charge it somewhat defeating the purpose of electric power but to un necessarily tow massive amounts of weight that’s a great option….

long haul truckers are not sitting in traffic idling! City delivery drivers are. Electric makes sense for city route drivers, not for long haul ( OTR) . Slow down, shouldn't be going 77 mph hauling a big boat like that.

The purpose of buying an electric vehicle is to charge it overnight in your garage. Many people I know only drive themselves to work and back and nothing more. If you drive enough to use up the entire battery pack in one day, electric cars are not for your use case. You will pay MORE at a supercharger per mile than at a gas station with a gas vehicle.
Cyber truck is good for what most people do with their trucks. Running errands and small truck jobs. I’d say 15-20% of truck owners use their trucks for “truck” things. Why do you think most are crew cabs? Remember when most were single cabs or even “extra” cabs? Now they are grocery getting soccer field machines and bbq grill movers. At my 36gal truck has an 8ft bed. But I haven’t been to a gas station in almost three months cause I daily a Model Y! 😂

Geez, is it me, or are there a bunch of haters commenting. I am a fuel hauler, and I'm still curious about what is possible with electric vehicles. Cool video looked like you'll had a good time at the lake.
i think Tesla can do something about the towing calculation...adding like a scale sensor on the hitch to measure an approximate of the weight, then give that info to the main computer to see and calculate the real mileage based on the battery/speed/and temperature.....i think 100% is doable without making the cost go higher than maybe another $1200-1800...
What I got from this video: 20:00 - The best part of a Cybertruck is that it has lighting like a $20 speaker from Walmart. The way Tesla can trick people with these gimmicks is interesting, to be honest. This guy seems very successful and intelligent. He is well-spoken and logical and even he's drawn in by the nonsensical gimmicks, after just experiencing all the headaches of just trying to tow with "the truck of the future", After being charged 60% more than promised when he signed up, and after the CT was nerfed since he signed up. He's still like "Cool lights bro". 😩😳
The mileage / charging angst is not worth it ! You have to know where the charging stations are & make plans according to that. In Cali that truck might make more sense for hauling just Jet skis.
Obviously, it doesn’t make sense for him to do that, these types of videos are much more successful. He has said so himself in previous videos. You make a decision whether to just be a car dealer or be a TH-cam creator. Obviously he’s made this decision and the car business is kind of secondary. Nothing wrong with that, it’s his choice.

That's not a truck...! A truck is something you can you for work...! You can't, without a ladder, unload/load from the side of the bed...!! Totally useless as a truck...!!!!!!
It's an accessory- like a Birkin bag for grown men. I would consider another Tesla vehicle with the self driving capability, but this thing just screams obnoxious person - unless of course you have a youtube channel in which case it is a marketing tool.
Agreed, this thing is not just ugly, its also not very good as a truck, and clearly not very durable.

Lol, you bought a cyber truck. There really is a sucker born every minute.
Is your boat shaped like a "brick" rather than the aerodynamic styling of your CyberTruck? Wind resistance above 55mph will make a big difference.

Also your speed is a big factor. If you drive 55 mph it would help
So would filling the tires to 60 psi & tailgating a semi truck ! 😎
I used to go 80 MPH pulling my 27 foot camper, in my gas van. I could go 300 miles between fuel stops

When towing with a Cybertruck make sure your always going downhill with the wind at your back the range is still 1/3.
You never show how you got the adapter out of the charge port, how did you.
Yep pulled into a restaurant . Guy was there already charging.Had dinner and dessert . Came out and the guy was still in his car charging .

Is it true that EV manufacturers recommend charging to only 80% to prevent damage to the battery? And if so is the range they advertise based on the 80% or 100% which of course they say you should not do?
Yes, fully charging any Lithium-ion battery repeatedly will wear it out faster. And of course manufacturers advertise the 100% range.
Yes and you aren't supposed to run them completely flat either.
It's the same with gas vehicles when towing or speeding.
All the safety features deemed an "inconvenience" are actually very cool and useful for doing other than creating youtube content.

Good video, but….. you exaggerated a bit. You didn’t charge correctly the night before. Subtract that first charge from your trip. Then, at the end of the video you said it would have taken you two charges to get home. One charge to 100% is all you needed
