Hello from america I'm catholic and that thing that you say is a crucifix is really called a Rosary we use them during hard times or good times. Also we use it for to pray with it at church at home or funeral where ever! Trying to live here during these hard times.
A local lake in a woodland (former gravel pit) was drained when it was being made into a nature reserve. A safe was found in it. It belonged to a well-known family of shopkeepers locally and had been missing for 30 years. The door was open and contents gone. BUT there was a seperate drawer they hadn't opened. The police opened it and there was a quantity of jewellery in it including some valuable rings which also had sentimental value. The family were reunited with their things that they'd resigned themselves to never seeing again. They had been in the water barely three miles from their home all that time.
That does look like a real pearl, actually, set in the silver ring you found. An old jeweller's trick to test if it is real, is to rub the pearl against your front teeth. If the pearl feels smooth, then it's fake. But if the pearl feels rough and drags slightly against your teeth, then it's real! Speaking as a former jeweller, that pearl looks to me as if it could be a freshwater Scottish pearl, as there is not a lot of colour refracting off it - but I can still see some flashes of pale pink and green as the ring catches the light. A very nice find, Si - do the pearl tooth test and let us know the result!
Ok- I’m an expert! Sold pearls for years in Hawaii! The tooth thing is bunk! And pearls love water! It’s their home after all! But I don’t know about the mud… 💕
@@marilynmiller5605 That reservoir looked so muddy though, if pearls are porous, and I've read up on caring for them in a few places and all of them say they are, surely the mud would get into the pearl? Who knows! It's a very pretty ring!
An old friend of mine and his wife were on the BOAC plane that was hijacked and blown up, they were still on the plane when it exploded destroying all the seats behind theirs, Fortunatly they both survived with minor injury.
Planes were empty in news reports and in the wikipedia article, however under hostage interviews hostage #3 says he thinks there were a couple of people on board when it blew. Someone should correct these erroneous reports of "empty planes!"
The story i was told by my friends was that most people were taken off and were approx 200mtr from the planes. He and his wife were in the que departing when a bomb went off blowing up the back of the plane.. When they picked themselves up they saw the seats from 2 rows behind theirs were gone.. As someone who has exposed news governments want supressed i can say for certain we are told what they want us to know whether true or not. Do you remember a film called,,,,Black hawk down ? every bit was fictious and film was made to coverup a colossal failure by the US. @@juneyshu6197
Great video as always. My dad worked for BOAC and that’s why we came to America. He was sales and our house was full of the old giveaways, royal blue with company logo. That bag is not a passenger or giveaway bag but a company bag and was owned by flight operations, note the number on it. Perhaps an old employee in the UK can identify which division used these ops bags.
Simon never disappoints! Always interesting and funny content. Love the cameos of Monica, Anna, and Cuffs. Can't wait to find out what the 45 is.. and what they had to "Bag and tag"! 😂😊
Im surprised there isnt a law about throwing offerings into the rivers there as you so many everytime you go out Great finds ,great to see everyone pitching in x
I don't think these were offerings, I think they were dumped there after robberies on properties, increasingly targeting Indian families who keep a lot of jewellery and gold. The safe's are cracked open the valuable stuff removed and everything else thrown in the water, so no fingerprints or DNA.
From what I could find on the fish lock, the language is Tibetan mantra. According to an ad for one being sold on eBay, the lock is made in the Northwest of India.
Another fantastic video. Good on you and all the volunteers for cleaning up the mess. It is sad to see how much garbage, etc. is thrown in the waterways. I was very interested in all the religious offerings as well. Can't wait for more mudventures!
Hi Si in the early 60s me and my mate Wayne found a box of ww2 mills grenades under that road bridge because he lived in the flats he took them home and put them under his bed gave him mother kittens when she was cleaning .and i learnt to sail there.
Can't believe I missed this yesterday...Mardi Gras is in full swing here & lots of work. Cannot Wait to see part 2. Love it when all of y'all are together in a video!
I think offerings should be biodegradable. With the amount found that is a lot of things in the water. Please know I am not knocking any religion. I just think something needs to be done to help the enviroment.
Epic yes! Your outstanding editing made a river trash cleanup so interesting and entertaining. Luv your friends and you nailed it again with your emotional intelligence.
Great fun and purposeful! I really enjoyed this lark. I, too, saw a coin you might have missed. 45 is Beatles, "I Want to Hold Your Hand!" Cheers from Pennsylvania, USA
What a dream come true for mudlarkers. I love the ladies who lark. yay! We are magnet fishers in the states (Arizona) and they are draining our canals right now to clean. They scoop everything out with bulldozers. Not so great for magnet fishing.
What an experience to scratch around in a place like that ! So interesting all your finds and you always look like you have such a laugh while you are doing it . Can't wait for Part 2 !
Love the adventure Simon always. I'm behind I had some problems with my health but I hope to catch up with you. And see all of your great adventures, love yours, videos, stay blast, my young man.
My best friends dad worked for BOAC out of Manchester. It’s been years since I heard from her as I moved to the USA in 1972. She did visit me once in 1983 after I had both my children, now have 6 amazing grandchildren. So Susan Matthew’s if you are reading this I miss you so much my friend.
My father-in-law started his career with Imperial Airways (later BOAC) and retired in the 1970's. He was a flight engineer, and was proud to say he was qualified to taxi the Concord in the later part of his career.
Just a quick mention about a TH-cam series called Below the plains, the guy just bottle digs, but it's his tool that is interesting ( no smut) he's cut the 2 outer tines off his fork, making it like a pair of steel fingers, and great for getting round bottle necks. Also makes it easier to dig in rocky places.👌
My friend owns a 120 year old reservoir. I was finding old beer bottles and liquor jugs on the bank. Nearby I found a small 1930s trash dump with Japanese artifacts! Awesome video btw.
Wonderful finds. Little muddy. All that matter you helped clean up the water. I sure if a fish could talk it would say thank your friend shirley from new, north carolina ❤❤❤❤❤🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉🎉😅😊
Just seen your bottle dump dig from 4 years ago, the cat with Strike me... it's a match striker, the holes where the whiskers should be were for matches and it's back which was broken off was the striker👌
Some terrific finds this day. Many Hindu artifacts and safes, coins and other assorted objects. Thank you for the video, Si. Glad to see Cuff again. See you on the next. Cheers Si! 🇬🇧👍🙂🇺🇸
Funny to see rhese video's at this reservoir . I just saw a video of a couple who were having a guided tour of the same locks just a few days ago. They are restoren a canalboat.
Delightful project! I love the boot adaptation for the mud, clever! Lots of Ganesha stuff; Beautiful fabrics! That looks like a pellet gun I bought to dissuade the magpie outside my bedroom window. (Never actually hit him) That's too yellow for real gold. Getting a cup of coffee for part 2!

think you missed a coin when the bottle was picked up between 16/17 minutes in right next to the rock, only mentioned is as you showed the coin being missed later, great time with the larking friends and so much to find. thank you

I agree, some of those medieval pins and such have been in the waterways for hundreds of years, it’s a disgrace….
Well, metal objects and ceramics aren’t going to do any harm other than clutter things up. Plastics are another matter.
Those people don't care about others, they are in their own fantasy world. All religious people are. Only care about their own cult.
