Thanks Roy from one ex Baxi employee to another. I left way before these came onto the market. I love fitting them, using one hand to lift a boiler on to the wall is the way forward! Keep up the good work Roy & Alan.
Thanks Roy , not come across one of these before so its a really useful vid , Quite different to many other boilers so its great to get a heads up inside one. Thanks Allen for sharing
Hi Allen and Roy, I love watching your very informative videos! Thank you so much for putting in all this time and effort to improve the industry and its gas members! I would like to see more videos of how to deal with unsafe scenarios please such as a failed tightness test etc. etc. including filling in the warning notice forms and where to attach the notices. Many thanks guys
quality video again Roy & Allen ....lovely little heat only boiler that can be fault diagnosed pretty quickly with the MI’s at hand. 👏👏👏👏👏 thanks for posting ⭐️
Quality training video thanks! Can you please tell me can the 848 Sigma SIT gas valve be replaced without replacing the complete PCB & Fan unit? Thank you! 👍
Hi Roy!Great Video!thanks again!I came to Potterton promax combi boiler.no heating or hot water!no fault codes.display flickers from 52-56 back and fourth. No ignition. Service mode.fires up.overheats and goes blank.checked hot water NTC ok.pump runs, fan runs but no ignition. O heating demand display comes for just a second and goes off totally but with hot water display stays on but no ignition. Hall effect senor fully illuminated. What could be the fault. Thanks
I have a question for Roy ,I am a retired domestic heating engineer \ gas fitter . I noticed that the CO2 readings on conventional boilers were so much lower than the condensing boilers we were fitting which were allegedly more kind to the planet . We used to set up the condensing boilers at 9% CO2 high and 9 % CO2 low on the Vokera HE combination condensing boiler for example. Which were 90 % plus efficient .Now as an example and only because I know the boiler the Vokera mMynute 12,16,and 20 e is a band D boiler has a Sebunk rating of only 78.5 ,% but only gives out 6% CO .So on the face of it the new boiler gives out 50% more C0 while burning let's be kind and say 15% more efficient to mitigate for this . On the face of it the new boilers actually give out more CO2 than the old boilers when you take into account the amount of gas used.On a lighter note I did my apprenticeship in Halifax with the North Eastern Gas Board in Mulcture Hall Rd . Happy days.
Thanks for your reply. On the face of it older boilers give out less in %terms than the new ECO boilers . which is not quiet how they were sold to the great British Public , Coupled with the fact they last for half to one third of the time the old ones lasted for and are extremely complicated to service and repair and need expensive calibration instruments to ensure their safe operation . Also most if not all condensing boilers are positive pressure another safety concern I would have thought .
Thank you for your time in replying.I think this is not as black and white as government and manufactures would have us believe .I wonder what nasties that they say are not going into the atmosphere are now disappearing down the condensate ,millions of gallons of mildly acidic water being put into water supply.Goverments have previous about being totally wrong about politition issues The obvious example is diesel fuel The government might just have been wrong but the car manufacturing industry deliberately set out on a policy of deception .When Halifax was converted to Natural Gas in 1969 . Natural Gas was trumpeted as a super clean fuel although I accept these things are relitive . In my experience when manufacturers make claims about claimed efficiency these are theretical and usually cannot be replicated in the real world as an example look at the claimed milage the manufacturer says you can get from a particular car and then try to replicate it . I watched the video Allan put up about Hydrogen fuel cells .These make the present day combination boilers look like coal fires in comparison with the associated price tag of course. I have band D Gloworm Ultimate I will be hanging onto it for as long as possible .Thank you for your time Kevin.
Is it possible to remove the sump of the heat exchanger with the exchanger still in place ? Dealing with one at the moment that won’t fire and I’m thinking the bottom of the exchanger may be blocked……
Did you work this out? I've got the same problem with one at the moment, I've cleaned the sump through the flue vent opening as it had deposits but the condensing trap was clean. Would love to check the bottom of the heat exchanger.
Allen, I’ve been getting a lot of Ideal boilers on servicing making the deep humming sound on low fire , and in some cases a strip down service does the trick, however I’ve had some that have needed new PCBs ( ideal warranty claims) I’m not sure if you’ve had this with them before, but im finding a lot of 1 year old boilers and newer doing it, for e.g I had a 3 month old Atlantic 35kw showing 1600 ppm and needing a strip down. I’ve been out for a different fault but found this, do you have experience on this?
Dirty injector, gas valve, or more that 5mm of bounce on the burner. To check for bounce whip the fan out and finger the hole and see the springiness. If you want to shut the humming noise up... slap it on low rate with the case off and take the black rubber hose off the trap it should shut it up. Put it back together and try low rate again it should sort it out.
Hi Allen I promised content for you I haven’t got the time as yet to do it but I’ve put a couple of clips on tik tok on @whybother2171 on plant rooms, hope alls well keep going Ian
Top bloke Allen Hart. Always going that extra mile to help others. You sir are a legend!
Excellent advice and tips Mr Fugler 👍. Always looking forward to the next one. You're an extremely knowledgable gent.
Thanking Allen too. 😉

@@AdrianBordoy yes, hi Adrian, are you still at Baxi?
Good mate thanks, yes still at Baxi 12years now!
@@AdrianBordoy ok if you are still in Notts you may have one of my jobs tomorrow. Main Eco in Beeston?
I'll have a look at my jobs tomorrow and let you know
I am loving these videos from Viva 💪🏽
I have an amazing guy on a motorbike doing a review of his transportation soon😂😍 Hope you are well buddy. Did you sort a van out?

My favourite heat only boiler 👍🏻
Excellent video as usual extremely helpful content.
👍👍👍👍🇬🇧
Thanks lads just needed this strip down video
Brilliant videos 👍
hi Allen any chance of doing a video on the intergas boilers don't know much about them but heard they are very good
CO2 has to be exact, beware of gravity feeding, the cracking sound is the bolts need greasing, probably the best boiler

Good afternoon, please can you help me. My baxi combi boiler is not showing power supply on the reset button
Great as always
Very informative 👍
What is the problem if both green lights stay on constantly. .?
Constant ignition faults on mine. Ive had 2 gas engeneers out and they cant see a problem 🤬
Both lights stay green constantly, what is the fault.

Hi Alan, can you recommend a gas engineer in Wigan please?
Tom Plum you tube channel. He's retired now, but he will know all the guys in your area.
