    "When I say you another option I mean you have to do them all" LOL! Great tips, thanks!
    This video also made me realize that I attributed such a negative connotation to the word "networking", that even my tummy hurts to think about it, so I use its description: "build relationships" and I feel so much better about it, because that I can do.
    Have a great week!

    To be honest when I liked the works of fashion designers I like and wrote the comments, I often received only ignorance. People didn't try to bother themselves to write at least "thanks". And it was very offensive for me, because my compliments were honest, I didn't try to use someone or to make them love my works. And on LinkedIn after adding someone, I was writing messages like "hello, nice to meet you, thanks for adding me" people also ignored me. No "thanks", nothing. I am talking about European and American fashion designers. I am Russian and Russian people always answered me at least "thanks". Before I thought that European fashion industry is very contemporary and polite. But after all I understand that people are very arrogant and snobby. And very hypocrite. I would love to be wrong. But all my experience tells that Russian people are a way more kind, open and gentle. To be honest after this experience I don't want to write good things to anyone. I respect myself and I don't want to kiss the asses of people who think that they are way more better than me.

    • @zoehongteaches
      @zoehongteaches  5 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No, I don't really like to talk about things that are beyond my experience. If you want to get into buying, merchandising is definitely the right degree to get, because you don't really need a degree for styling. Retail experience helps, if you really pay attention to what people are buying, what people are trying on but not buying, stuff like that. Good luck!

    hello! idk if u mentioned this in the video but if u didn’t, then my question isn’t rlly related to networking. but, after fashion shows with all the amazing outfits, what do the designers, or who’s responsible for it, do with them? it’s ok if u can’t answer it, but i still love your tips! 💜

    • @zoehongteaches
      @zoehongteaches  5 ปีที่แล้ว

      No, that has nothing to do with networking so I didn't address that in this video. After shows, the samples get used for more photoshoots, loaned out to magazines for shoots or celebrities, different publicity functions, special pieces get saved in the archives, and the rest often end up in sample sales.

    • @janellerm
      @janellerm 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      Zoe Hong thx so much! your reply helped me a lot, but i’m also wondering if doing those is basically loaning them for other purposes and if it’s beneficial.

    I'm trying to catch up on your videos. I've watched them on ROKU whilst having coffee and waking up. I just haven't gotten online much. I have to see a doctor next week, turn in paper work etc. Every mundane thing that needs doing is rearing its ugly head. At times being an adult really sucks the life out of one. My apologies if I'm being a downer.
    Great video and the best advice I've heard as far as building relationships. Those aren't the first things one would think of when trying to garner attention and reaching out to others. I can see why it was suggested to you to become a teacher. 😄
    I don't have any art questions for this comment. Maybe you can help me with something else. I love graphic tshirts! 😍 I love getting my hands on loud, sketchy ones with graffiti and street art. I've been trying to find graphic shorts. Haven't had much luck. I did find a company called Royal & Awesome (link below for reference) that makes some cool as hell graphic golf shorts in my size. Other than that I'm only finding swim trunks. If you or anyone you know knows of a company that makes shorts like this then I'd be grateful if you'd comment it to me here or drop me a pm on Facebook.

      @higherground711 5 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@zoehongteaches I appreciate it anyways. 😊 I did find some camouflage cargo shorts in multiple colors. They're not exactly what I was looking for. They are however hot colors and uncommon colors. They're actually made by a military gear company Rothco.com They have uncommon colors red, purple, orange, blue etc. On Amazon I found PUMA's Wild Pack shorts. From the look of them they're basketball or athletic shorts. Cool as Hell though! 😀
      I don't really understand why there aren't a lot more printed shorts available. Anyone who likes loud colors and graphics and statement pieces would buy. And today that's a lot of people young and old. Prints and graphics shouldn't be limited to just swim trunks and lounge shorts. They should be on basketball shorts, cargo shorts etc.
