You can get them trough doing the battle tasks and colect the few medals that are necesery to unlock them hope this helps it will take awile though
They cost less than a Starbucks coffee and are an absolute must.

Phly showing the armor didn't show the lower plate from panthers. It's SOOO easy to shoot through, and it gets driver, radio operator/machine gun operator, gunner and possibly loader. Ez claps.
I can't wait to get it.

This tank is amazing, I was suprised that yesterday I got shot by 2 tigers, 1 panthers, and 1 Pz IV and survived until my teammates kill all of them except for pz IV that finally got me.
The Super Pershing so far is my favorite tank in the game! I have about 200 hours in the game but I only recently started playing Tank RB. I actually started playing it cuz of Phly's first video on it from a year or so ago that I stumbled upon. I love going through a Panther's front plate after I bounce a round that they randomly shot at me because German players are so used to penning anything that comes at them without effort.

YES!! About time some now WT action with the 90mm gun. This is my favorite gun in the WW2 theater. 90mm is no joke.
I enjoy the super Pershing, after having accepted that I can't rely on its apparent armor to protect me from anything bigger than the American 76mm
It can bounce german panther 75mm quite well at long range. It might protect you from a badly shot 122 also. Not worth 13k per death though.
If my memory serves me well, the add-on armor came from panther's front plate according to the book 'Death Traps' by Belton Cooper

Between those 2 its just a matter of who shoots first.
The frontal plate was made of a steel boiler from a german factory and was just welded on. The turret had the panther armor, but it was from the side of a panther.

Correct, this additional armor was added after it was shipped to Germany. Incidentally, the hull armor and the mantlet were added in one phase, and some time later a "here hold my beer" moment occurred and the "ears" were put on the turret.
Yes, we captured a fabricating factory in Germany where the Germans were making boilers. All of the extra plating was laying around when we got there, and the mantlet piece came from a destroyed Panther near by. The boiler plating is 38mm thick. Belton Copper talks about it in his book “Death Traps” (take the information in it with a pinch of salt though).

@@biomike01 I don't believe that's accurate, as that weight is all going on the mantlet, which is supported by the springs, and a counterbalance was added to the back of the turret. More weight on the front of the turret won't help balance the gun, but I could be wrong, got a source on that?

Phly, I believe the extra front glacias plates are boiler plates according to a Mark Felton documentary. The extra gun mantlet plate is from the Panther.
From several sources, the plate on the hull of the Super Pershing was boilerplate found at a factory near where they were preparing the tank for combat operations. The "ears" I think are as much to balance out the weight of the extra armor on the mantlet as for protection, since the gun was so heavy and unbalanced that those external springs were added to help elevate the gun.
You should read the book, death traps, the Lt. Talks about the super Pershing . They filling metal plates in a factory to apply to the Pershing in the field and they tested the gun on a train track at a jagdpanzer. He said the round fired through the front plate all the way through the compartment engine compartment and out the back and they couldn’t find the round in the dirt it went so deep.
And I remember correctly only 2 were made, one was sent to the 3rd amored and the other to the 2nd

Having finally spaded this thing yesterday after weeks of getting whooped, Im glad to see some good gameplay with it.
Also, since Phly seems too humble to ask, you guys need to like and sub.
The armor on the side of the turret is from Panthers. There was only ever one single super Pershing. They welded extra armor from a panther and put it on the front as well.
Idk if war thunder is historically accurate on that one though.
So yes the extra armor is probably from one.

There is a documentary on this, and it IS from a Panther, the counter weights were from the side armor and the front plate on the turret is from the frontal armor from a Panther, the hull plates were cut from boiler plates. This was all done in the field.
No phly, the 38mm plate is actually boiler plating used for water boilers, and really shouldn’t count as structural steel as it it’s closer to RHA than structural steel, it should have like a .7 or .8 modifier

I started the game with germany and as soon as I faces this thing switched to 'murica.
One of my favs, the gun is ridiculous and the structural steel just deletes Heat-fs
You should play the M26E1. Basically same gun (with a much faster reload), faster movement, less armour admittedly but it's still great. Doesn't get the love of other prems and tanks at that tier.
