    Incredible car with amazing quality, amazing tech, and the ability to battery swap! The swapping is underrated. You can always make sure you have a healthy battery and healthy car.

    • @TB-up4xi
      @TB-up4xi ปีที่แล้ว

      The main problem is the economic viability of this system. NIO has made losses of $827million USD in Q3 23 and $647million in Q2 23, and the losses are getting bigger each quarter.
      It should be that the more cars they sell the less the charger swap network costs per car but Q3 they made $60 million profit on cars but spent $887million on the swap network and admin, that is unsustainable even with the backing of the CCP.

    • @08Derrock
      @08Derrock ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@TB-up4xi they are building out their infrastructure early on, just like Amazon did when building out their warehouses and people were telling them they were crazy and burning too much money. It’s called having foresight. Their tech is spot on and their sub brands are on the way a $20,000 EV that can swap it’s battery is going to be revolutionary.

      If they cannot make it then yes, if they can it offers a lot of possibilities. Of course charging times are going up but also how good is that for a battery and what with the grid going forward, EVs will not destroy the grid but massive investments are needed if we want to have a lot of fast charging. Battery swap offers a lot of possibilities like you ciuld use a cheaper smaller battery when you are driving in a city abd when you gave to drive long distance you temporarily swap it to big battery maybe. Also you can charge them slowly at night and offset peak fast charging that will also be a thing at holidays etc. when masses of people go somewhere

      ...and so is the price with a much worse efficiency.
      I think they are very different cars with a different target audience.
      EL6 is more beautiful and better quality. Would I pay 20k extra for that? probably not; but surely some people will.

      My explanation for why the EL6 is cheaper than the Tesla Model Y. I think the correct comparison is Tesla Model y Performance, because there is a difference of less than 0.3 second in real acceleration. But for the sake of the example we will be conservative and choose the long range version which is hard to call sporty but not terrible. So we chose the long range, 20 inch rims, the most beautiful color of nio is standard, so we will also add white color, now we come to autonomous driving, which is standard for nio, (in fact nio has twice as many sensors) so we will add full autonomous driving , and the final price is 66 thousand euros. Only a guarantee that your battery will forever be in the maximum state of health, 150 kilowatts of free electricity, two swaps, and that the vehicle is really ready for autonomy and you don't need to connect it to an outlet every so often. Only this is worth 170 euros per month, so the rally price is 52 thousand euros, but then we have a problem, the range of the y long range model is 533 kilometers, while the range of the nio is 406 kilometers, (for the sake of conservatism I will ignore the fact that the real range of the nio closer to the WLTP range than Tesla) because the nio has upgrades on a daily basis it turns out that you need the larger battery less than 20 percent of the time, and with battery swap, 80 percent of the time with this large battery is saved, therefore, the price of the larger battery must be added to the price Less the price of the smaller battery divided by five. So 21 minus 12 equals 9 divided by five gives 1.8, rounded up to two thousand euros. So, it turns out that the price of the equivalent version is 54 thousand euros compared to 66 thousand euros with Tesla. Except that they are not really parallel because nio is much better.

    • @tani123
      @tani123 ปีที่แล้ว +2

      The vehicle is actually relatively efficient compared to an electric vehicle as wide and tall as this one, and the difference from the WLTP was only 5 percent at 80 km/h, Which is much closer to the WLTP range compared to Tesla. This problem is almost certain to be fixed with a software update.

    One of the best reviews of the EL6 that I found on YT. Despite the short time that you had with the vehicle, very informative, learned many new things and nice to understand the differences compared to the original EL6. Great location enhanced by the nice video quality and drone shots. Last but not least, enjoyable and to-the-point presentation. Agree with your conclusion that this EL6 will become the top seller for NIO in Europe. NIO houses and lifestyle is a funky way to attract new customers, but I wouldn't use it much if I bought one.. Drivers seat can be adjusted on the seat base button for thigh support length, agree on lack of side support, if driven hard you would need to hang on to the steering wheel to stop sliding around. Only 4 days since living with my new ES6 but so far very pleased with it. Your comments on ride firmness are very useful, I am running in comfort setting since I picked it up and on certain surfaces it does feel a bit like a boat the way it floats, it tends to make my wife travel sick, first thing tomorrow I will go for a stiffer setting.

      I have been testing Nio pilot a lot lately and must say that it's on par with an in some cases better than the Standard autopilot on the Tesla. But there are probably cases I haven't tested yet that's lacking. Overall impressed though.
      And you are right, it competes with EQE SUV, BMW IX, Q8 Etron and Xpeng G9 rather than Model Y.

    • @javiersequeros9634
      @javiersequeros9634 ปีที่แล้ว

      But for the same reason, above price calculation could be argued
      A Tesla model Y long range with 75kw battery has only marginal worse performance and same range as a NIO EL6 with 100kw battery. Tesla Standard Autopilot is good enough to spend an extra penny on FSD that doesn't add much.
      In this case, Tesla is ca. 20k eur cheaper. I'm not saying Tesla is better, but it's clearly cheaper.

      Really nice review, as always! There is also much to like about G9, for sure, but compared to EL6, it lacks some important features for me such as: matrix led, head up, 40/20/40 backseats and a sunroof, doesn't it? My choice, after driven both, and considering the price point i Norway, would definitely be EL6. The interior in the G9 looks good, and feels 95 % good, but I can't stand the piano black and the "thin silver" on the steering wheel. The G9 is already facelifted (small one) in China, maybe they've sorted those things out?

      Good reasoning. Stay tuned for my comparison.

    • @-Loth-
      @-Loth- ปีที่แล้ว

      Yea, I would also really like matrix on the G9 also, but at least it have very good light, even though no matrix/ pixel functionality. Headup, meh, I haven't tested the car yet, but have tested a few other with headup that hasn't impressed me at all. It might be good on the EL6 though, I can't say yet. Had cars before with sunroof that I only opened a few time 'for fun'/ show, but don't see the big thing about it. What I think I'm really going to appreciate, at least on longer roadtrips, are the passenger screen you get in G9. It's a shame really that Nio doesn't have one. Also G9 has a bit more space, like the frunk, which is very practical on roadtrips. More towing weight, but still to bad it doesn't have even more, they both should have, being they both are pretty large and very powerful. G9 looks to be more efficient and very fast charging. Battery swap could be great in time, depending on where you drive, but for now I would rather choose faster charging. Even though the suspension on the EL6 is good, it doesn't have air-suspension, and it's a bit more noisy (from what I have read/ heard, but I guess we will see some more comparison between the two soon). And 7 year warranty on the G9 vs 5 on EL6. Piano black surfaces is easy to fix with some wrap 😉So I don't know, they are both candidates for me still.
