Hip Hip Horray!! Just like from the dealer showroom so many years ago. I grew up with the "60 , 70, 80, 66, 76 and 86 series. They were tough. For the first tractor I built for modified tractor pulling , I used a 66 series rear and transmission with a 454 Chevy motor. The rear and trans held together for 4 years. Had lots of fun pulling in shows from Delaware to Florida. When I was about 7 / 8 yrs. old, my dad and I would go to our friends and neighbors with our "60" equipped with a front mount table saw and cut their "slab wood" {available for almost next to nothing from the local sawmill} to stove length for them to use in their cook stoves and wood heaters. Dang, those were some good days back then. Great job on the rebuild, the camera work and explaining the process. LOVE ME SOME OLIVER TRACTORS.

Ethan, get the soft washers, the one thing I learned, used washers don't always work because exactly as you said. They deform. Yea, put that chisel plow on her and give a good solid day's work. That WILL seat those rings. I'm not a fan of the dyno, did that on a tractor and it just felt like they never seated until we slapped on a moldboard plow.

Sweet. Excellent work. Always a good feeling to hear an engine come back to live after all that work. Yeah, I know all about those washers on the banjo fittings. Had an awful time with my 190XT after I got the pump rebuilt. Two lines I had to replace the washers and one line I had to bend some more to get it lined up better. Now, my father in law's 1850 has got one leaking so I gotta check that out. Pain in the but those washers are. I can't wait to see it on the dyno. Sounds very good.

Like you said I’d imagine it’ll pull that planter like nothin. We currently run a 1760 8row on a 4040 which is about 90 horse but it’s turned up pretty hot lol. Pulls it up and down hills like nothing. 13000 hours original engine and trans. Even has a crack in the side of the block we assume from a casting flaw been like that for years. Figure it’s not worth overhauling the engine since the block is junk and I got a 7700 combine engine I’ll put in it. But she just keeps chugging along! And your right in balancing the rotating assembly. Just about everything I build gets it done. It makes a huge difference for sure.

Nice work....!!! Just as an FYI for your back pocket. Harleys use an aluminum washer with a rubber gland molded on the inner diameter for the brake master cylinders(come in both 10 and 12mm). Not sure how they'd work at injector pump pressures....

    • @Oliver66FarmBoy

I have a question about your 1950T, specifically about the front tires. I'm was wondering what size are they and do you like the 4 rib tread. I have a 66 1750 that I just bought a couple months ago. it was my dad's favorite back on the farm I grew up on, that being said the farm was actioned off in 92 and it still has the tires on it that my dad put on the tractor brand new when I was like 9. so the tires are pretty much wasted and need replaced

I assume you have heard the Detroit up close and personal. Sounds like a run away diesel. I think it is so awesome how Oliver engineered their tractors with a drop in motor design. I grew up working farms for college and drove a lot of the 1950, 1960 and 1907s various tractors. While Oliver brakes and steering not as good as some competitors, the overall design was kick ass. Not that too many believe me (4020 guys).
