It is established that Gus emigrated to Mexico in 1986 (the same year that Pinochet suffered an assassination attempt) and taking into account Max was a chemist and Gus was in the Chilean army (hinted at in One Minute, when Hector refers to him as "Big Generalissimo") it is possible that they were involved with the DINA (secret police of the regime). In 1976, Eugenio Berrios synthesized sarin gas and in the mid-1980s Pinochet ordered the construction of clandestine laboratories to develop black cocaine. So it is likely that Gus and Max were involved in Project Andrea and the black cocaine operation before emigrating to Mexico.

It's so fun to rewatch Walts face when he hears about Brock being alive, because he is genuinely relieved to not add a child death on his conscience that he'd have to justify to himself (its easier for him to justify that he's a genius who gave Brock enough poison to survive). Then he is even more relieved when Jesse buys the story that it was just an accident.
I always understood the end of Crawlspace as having been the metaphorical death of Walter White. And then the conversation he has with Skyler is his wake and funeral. One last moment of genuine love shared with his family before Heisenberg is fully realized.
New Mexico has to worry about snow and rain. Those houses are built in the "Pueblo Revival" style in order to appear more "traditional" but they're terrible. They leak all the time.
I actually have been in a situation where everything you do makes your world go even more sideways. That moment of hearing the sirens you know are for you, laughing that it is all over and somewhat of a relief..but then the sirens go to a house 2 doors down and there I am, on the lawn in underwear..and I all I could do was go back inside and get dressed...from that point on, things leveled off and good came back into my life. I never noticed that in the interview that Hank and the DEA have with Gus, Hank says that in '86 Gus immigrated to Mexico from Chile, and at the end, says "before '86 this guys is a ghost." Then later, when Gus is on the phone with Mike and Mike is telling him that Hank has gone rogue on this investigation, he says to Gus, "if I can't find any trace of you before '89 I seriously doubt Schrader can." Either that was a mess up in the script, or that's showing that Hank really is a better detective than Mike. The look on Gus' face in that moment suggests the latter to me, though.
George when he's later "interviewed" by the authorities: "No! I'm not a poison cooking, bomb building serial killer. I just watch a lot of Simon Whistler videos. Promise!"

@43:50 To be fair, Walt never said "I *hope* you get buried in a barrel in the desert". He said something more like "You'll probably end up in a barrel in the desert". He never said that's what he wanted to happen to Jesse. He was trying to illustrate the danger that they were in because of Gus, and why Gus being taken out should be more of a priority to Jesse than what Gus said was telling him was priority.
Even though this wasn’t the case. You could suspect that Tyrus rifled through Jesse’s pocket & found that “lucky” cigarette (The one that was flipped the other way).
I finally watched Better Call Saul, and I'm so glad I did. All of the questions you guys have are answered in Better Call Saul.
Ah yes, what exactly stopped Walt, Divine Intervention.
Simone: "They cant put a bomb in a old folks home."
😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣😂🤣
Your cat is so cute!!! The purring made this video for me
43:02 - OMG the drastic difference between your reactions to his fall made me laugh out loud!!!! Clearly she's the caregiver in the relationship. 🙂
Im loving rewatching BrBa with you. Thanks, I couldnt do it by myself.
Highlight of this video is George dropping Simon Whistler's name, showing once more he's a man of culture.
There are enough hints to show that the guy Hector killed wasn't Gus' brother lol.
If it's a TV show, the answer is always yes; the car will explode.
The scene at the pool is one of my favorites!
When Simone is saying ok ok ok ok reminded of lethal weapon 2 joe pesci 😂
I love the different reactions you gave to Ted accidentally tripping and snapping his neck. 🤣
I never realized until now that the song that plays before Gus gets to Hector in ep 13 is the same song from the intro of the show Dark, that's cool
Walt looking at the lily of the valley: "I'm about to pull a pro-gamer move"
You guys know there was a breaking bad movie on netflix called El Camino correct? You guys have it easy watching these seasons back to back..the ones of us that watched it when it originally aired had to wait for new episodes weekly and a whole year between seasons. 😁♥
You two still called it a “Mineral Show” wheras Hank, back in the game, told Walt “there’s no rock show.” Love the subtlety of the whole thing
Fun fact, the gun was on a rod to get it to spin like that. They did a great job hiding it.
1:04:34 considering how cautious they were its kinda surprising no one noticed a BOMB strapped to the wheel chair and attached to the bell, lol.
One last moment of genuine love shared with his family before Heisenberg is fully realized.
you guys would love better call Saul. So much history of Gus and Mike shown along with Saul. Love your stuff btw
1:04:35 There's a whole documentary on YT about how the bomb scene was put together, very much worth checking out
Things I've learned from Simon Whistler:
1) Risin is bad
2) Pipe bombs are bad
3) It's never f*cking ghosts!!!
Cars can explode but the conditions have to be specific. Most times they just catch on fire.
It is a trip to be that guy laughing at the absurdity of life.
Just got back from work, made a huge bowl of food, warm quiet evening. Ideal watching environment
"Did Hank punch Walt?" Wow, Simone predicted that exactly one season too early 😆
excellent tv detective skills, simone. and george's upcoming plot guessing is uh .... pretty good.
I never noticed that in the interview that Hank and the DEA have with Gus, Hank says that in '86 Gus immigrated to Mexico from Chile, and at the end, says "before '86 this guys is a ghost."
Then later, when Gus is on the phone with Mike and Mike is telling him that Hank has gone rogue on this investigation, he says to Gus, "if I can't find any trace of you before '89 I seriously doubt Schrader can." Either that was a mess up in the script, or that's showing that Hank really is a better detective than Mike. The look on Gus' face in that moment suggests the latter to me, though.
George when he's later "interviewed" by the authorities:
"No! I'm not a poison cooking, bomb building serial killer. I just watch a lot of Simon Whistler videos. Promise!"
My nursery hasn't done so well since our most popular plant, Lily of the Valley, was featured in episode 13.
I don’t know growing up in New York City, with my friends. No one gave a shit about what kind of car we had. We were just happy to not have to take the subway. My cousin drove a scion to school. That car literally looked like a carton of milk. Shape and size wise. It was like a 10 ounce carton of milk. No one made fun of the car. We’re just happy. We didn’t walk home. Also a PT Cruiser is a slamming car. Which I was 16-17 at the time of this show
"What kind of a person would put down a problem dog?" Kristi Noem😅
OMFG part one and part two so close together AHHHHHHH
53:30 HEY! Shout out to Simon Whistler! That's my dog!
this show is why Giancarlo was cast as an Imperial in Star Wars.
It's crazy that lily of the valley is my birth flower. When I first saw that episode, I had no idea that it was poisonous. Then I was like of course my birth flower would be like that. I'm also a dragon and a taurus, so it all makes sense.
Season for was a banger your reactions did not disappoint. Face off is iconic and great CGI for a TV show. Walt poisoning Brock is probably one of the darkest reveals.
You're not wrong. Real cars don't explode. But hey, this is TV.
37:55 Interesting fact, the head doctor is the voice actor for Caustic in Apex Legends.
Found the ricin, therefore giving the viewers a suspicion for Jesse to blame Gus since it was gone when he checked his pack. Poor Jesse being a play toy left & right.
