  • Water temp was no more than 35 degrees. I was trying out the evolve pole spear with a three prong. I was definitely surprised how well it performed with bigger fish. Sorry for the bad camera angle. I will be going back to get more footage before too long.

    No pike this time around? Good work on all the carp.

    Stoned/spined like every single one!😂 Looks fun, but cold. Did you see any other species in there this go around?

    Killer videos! I’m just getting into the sport and would love to join you on one of your dives. Based out of Lehi.

      Yeah man that would be awesome! I’m always up for the adventure. At this point I’m just waiting for some open water. If you haven’t already join the Utah Spearos page on facebook. You can get some good info on there and meet some other local divers.

    Hey, just wanted to let you know Provo river is actually one of the waterbodies that doesn’t allow underwater spear fishing, on the Utah fishing guidebook they have a list of the water bodies you can underwater spear fish at but good job getting those carp out of there👍

      Thanks for the polite heads up 😁. That list is for the harvest of game fish. It also says in all bodies of water during its legal fishing season you can spear common carp. Page 15 under the Additional spearfishing rules. Utah hates carp. They let you harvest them using nearly any method. 🤙

    7mm wetsuit? Also what kind of gloves and do they keep your hands warm? My hands tend to be to part that I have a hard time keeping warm.

      3mm. I need to get a thicker one. I was using 6mm mitten gloves. Just some off brand ones from Amazon. They worked great. My issue is my feet now.

    Hey, I thought Americans hated Carps or it's just that I have it wrong ??

    • @Hero_Spearo
      @Hero_Spearo  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Yeah that’s true for most Americans. I have tried them a few times and for the most part they taste pretty bad. They definitely aren’t the targeted species for most. I have learned to like carp more because they have helped grow spearfishing. They are considered invasive and are unwanted here so it gives us the opportunity to spearfish and help the fisheries maintain the carp population.

    How deep is that water?

    • @Hero_Spearo
      @Hero_Spearo  ปีที่แล้ว

      It only gets about 8 foot deep.

      And I wonder if you eat all them too 😁

      @@saracooper314 I’ve tried a couple times and they aren’t so good. I have a buddy who eats them though.
