    Some of this style also make me think of "SCUD: Disposable Assassin"

    I can't help but wonder what impact Go-Man would have had on '90s comics if the comic had a more successful run and reached a wider audience.

    Since it seems we were reading comics about the same time, I'm wondering if you ever read Nabiel Kanan's Exit - which had a brief self published run, and then a short run at Caliber. He got really experimental with his page layouts and storytelling choices, which he moved away from in his later work.

    This looks like a great comic I'd like to read. I don't think you need to apologize for the art; it's snappy, economical, and readable as hell.

    Growing up in a fairly rural border town i was lucky to find the latest Marvel or DC books. It wasn't until the 90s I found independent titles. Here's another good one i missed. Great video, buddy!

    This seems both very timely and quite ahead of its time. During the episode, I started paying more mind to the backgrounds and energy effects than the characters. The inspirations are pretty clear and work well. The dialogue seems wry and dryly clever, and that's a bonus, but also part and parcel to why the book works, I'd imagine.
    I laughed aloud at the Rocky Horror reference, and shall now go find a popular 80's playlist in hopes that my daily chores will be dispatched with the verve of a rousing montage. You are an absolute doll. Much gratitude.

    In terms of the usual digital comic locations (l1bgen, anna's ect) I can find Nerve issue 1, Go-man 1-4, and all the calibre presents issues. It seems nerve 2 and 3 are not easy to find.

    Heavy Metal was a hit and miss (mostly the latter) for me, but Matt Howarth had series called "Changes" that reminds me of the tone of this, the enthusiasm and vitality you mention. Also like this, the main characters of that series, the Post Brothers, kinda lost their focus when they got their own book.

    A personal favorite of mine is Barry Blair's Gun Fury and Gun Fury Returns. It mixes goofiness of Adam West's Batman with the 80's Action Movie thrillers of the Punisher pretty well while also making constant fun of Claremont's X-Men

    After watching, I caught myself thinking of XTC’s late 70’s take on the 60’s “All Along the Watchtower.” Realized they took a serious song then and installed a bizarre fun in it, opposite of the comics but just as poignant.

    Does anyone else think that Lynn looks like Desire of the Endless? Was this on purpose, or does Go Man predate Gaiman's world?

    • @StrangeBrainParts
      @StrangeBrainParts  8 หลายเดือนก่อน +3

      Lyn predates Sandman by about a year or two. And Desire's first appearance by a few years, I believe. So, it's coincidental.
