    So glad I picked up my 21 STI when I did last year. You hit the nail on the head, it just WORKS. The connectedness to the road, mechanical feel, no BS electronics, the last true “analog” car in todays digital world. It’s a great dad car as well, my daughter loves car rides in her words the “cool” car 😂✌🏽

    honestly the only two TH-camrs that are Subie guys that i watch regularly are you and Smeedia, just two chill guys who are quite knowledgeable and willing to help people learn, The "car scene" needs more guys like you two. Keep up the awesome work!

    18 year old here, this is my dream car ever since i was a little kid seeing the 06-07 hawkeye sti’s and the hatchback sti’s and ive decided that getting one of those is non realistic without spending a fortune fixing it up so i decided to save for a 2021 sti, probably used but with low miles and stock ofc, but your videos motivate me to chase my dream and soon i’ll have this car! Thank you for your awesome vids!

    Dude you said I right. I went through the same thing. I sold my 2012 STI because I felt like I had to grow up at 23 years old so I bought a 2020 Tacoma 6 speed manual right before covid hit and I just could not handle it anymore so I went out and found a dealership in Kentucky that deliver my 2019 STI to me. You feel like you're depressed whenever you don't have that car. I don't know what it is about an STI but this is how they make you feel. You drive something else and you just want your old Subaru back. These cars get trashed on so much for the issues that plague them and it's a shame because everything that they have issues with are mostly preventable and they're missing out on such an amazing car because of social media and everyone that they've been around saying how bad they are. When you posted a video saying that you had it for sale I was thinking that you were going to miss that car so much you might buy another. Somebody told me that before I sold my 2012 STI and they were definitely right. I am 26 years old and I've been privileged enough to finance the car in my name all on my own and enjoy it and I will never ever ever get rid of this car. I really hope you do the same because I have driven a lot of cars that have come out recently because of the work I do and I can tell you that they are not nearly as good as the STI because the STI is a new car that was built with an old-school recipe and it is extremely rare in the sense of its character. I also have a 87 Grand National a 71 Monte SS a 86 Monte SS and a 93 240sx Coupe with a RB swap. These cars not stock by any means and I still would rather drive my 2019 STi. Its such a damn good car. I live far away but I'd love to meet you and see that car one day. By the way. This is the best subaru content on TH-cam by far. No bullshit just you a camera and a Subaru. Thank you. I can speak for all of us and say we appreciate you bringing us along for the ride. Cheers ❤️

    Bought a 2016 wrx and got into an accident totalled it. 5 years later was lucky enough to buy a 2021 STI which was the car I always imagined of having. Never drove one just called the dealer and got it. Every time I drive it I get reminded of why I fell in love with everything the STI stands for. Not the fastest, not the prettiest, just an STI. Cant't beat it

    Dude nailed it! I'm so happy my wife and I made the decision to purchase each other our NEW dream vehicles as they might not be available again! sure enough the STI is no more and BOY I'm so happy to have made the jump and joined the Subaru family!
    Reasons MY Subaru is important to me!
    #1 dream car
    #2 wife bought it for me
    #3 It has already saved my life, maybe more than once.
    #4 it revived my Drive and Ambitions with taking my driving career more serious and not just a hobby.
    #5 its analog connectedness resonates with the old soul my young body has, and maybe if I take care of it. It will last and continue to take care of my family!
    #6 4 doors, powerful, manual, but yet still a dadilac that's reasonable and obtainable.
    #7 *** Probably the most important!!! *** My son cannot get enough of the STI and he is just totally in love with cars more than he already was! (start em young and you'll know where their money is going and glad it's not into drugs or other!)
    These reasons all mean the most to me as it really has changed my life back to the direction as a FAMILY we started!
    I deeply miss the SCCA *it stopped me from street racing while all my HS friends got in trouble, some no longer here, others drugs in the scene and some licenseless.*
    This Subaru STI STOCK class is perfect to just be a track weapon! and make me happy ALL season, any track, any road!
    The ability to go to any track and any time makes it so much sweeter as it's FUN, all the time ANY time! rain, snow, or shine!
    It's going to be more mine as each time its evolves hopefully to find in each their own eyes perfection as you have with yours!
    I don't think I could ever watch someone drive off in the car now it really has become a small attachment that personally I enjoy a lot with the goal to start videos much like you have! to help show and educate others the evolution! ( though a tad camera shy and tryin!)
    as our directions are similar but different, hopefully in each others eyes equal for purpose and the eye candy! *for us the DRIVE!!!!!!*
    But more so thank-you for your content up to this point this video hit home, and further thank you for paving the titanium way as oh my goodness the candy

    Love this vid. Makes me appreciate my 2018 Si (FC1) even more. I sometimes look at Instagram and see all the insane builds and nice cars and what not and forget what this car means to me. It’s my first manual, the first car I bought all by myself. The fact I’m even able to afford it being that I recently graduated college. Sure my dream is a type R but I need to enjoy this moment now and think about what I have. Thanks Chris, honestly, your words hold weight and even if I don’t have a subie I’ll still watch these vids cause it’s more than the car. It’s the true meaning of a car enthusiast in video form. Much love ❤️

      Thank you so much for the kind words! Yes, it’s very easy to get carried away in the social media game. Everything and everyone always doing more which makes you feel like you aren’t doing enough. But, this video is to make anyone watching stop. Slow down. And take a look in front of you. I do it often and it keeps me grounded.

    Awesome video man! My 2019 STI wil definitely be passed down to my son. Every single time I open my garage and my little boy sees the STI he points and starts to make exhaust noises it’s just awesome he loves going on car rides with me and I’m so glad I was able to get such an amazing machine.

    Went through the same thing when I sold my 500HP Evo 10 FE number 1476 out of 1600. Got into a BMW 540i and I hated it. Had an amazing deal on it but I lasted 2 years before I transferred my lease and purchased a 2021 STI. I make 443HP on a mustang and it makes me feel alive again! Feels much better than the Evo in every way. I’ll never sell it!!

    These videos definitely help me out by showing clean and simple modifications. I love the way your car looks and that you took the time to save for the modifications that you really wanted instead of settling. I definitely have decided to go with the WedsSport TC105X wheels because they are very lightweight which offers better mpg and quicker acceleration on top of them making brake calipers pop a bit more. I however want have different color hub centric rings. I was thinking of a blue that matches the World Rally Blue color or a green that matches the calipers. What brand or color would you go with when it comes to hub centric rings?

    • @Autofreakgarage
      @Autofreakgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Not many options out there. Usually just black or silver. The ones I have are the only color I would do. Otherwise just black.

    Great video and much of the same sentiment. Bit different journey for me but growing up rather poor, younger days being denied at dealerships for what I thought I wanted/needed at the time really makes everything come full circle. Is it a 800hp hellcat, GTR, Camaro SS, Mustang GT350 or any of the other beautiful cars out there? Def not. However, is it iconic, last of its kind, linked to a great lineage and all around a pleasure to hear fire up for the simplest of errands? Without a doubt. My only dilemma now is whether or not I want to keep it purely stock other than cosmetics and a catback, or eventually go for a reliable tune to get to the 300whp/300tq range. A part of me wants a little extra juice, nothing crazy, and another part of me thinks maybe enjoy it how it is. Anywho, keep up the great content man!

    In your experience, or if you know of anyones experience- would adding an AOS or a cooling mod deny a warranty claim?

    • @Autofreakgarage
      @Autofreakgarage  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      It really depends on what actually goes wrong. If you headunit breaks, they aren’t going to deny your warranty claim. It’s truly dealer based but really depends on how they want to handle it. Most dealers understand that an aos Is there to help you from having to use your warranty, so they usually waive it.
