    As a yard driver if I work 6 days a week. Walmart won’t let you work 7 days a week where I’m at. At 24.35 an hour, 65 hours a week I average around $1,200-$1,350 a week with a full two week check being at most $2,800. Been here for a year. My question is how many hours do you work in a week? If I missed that in the video sorry. Thanks. And might I add you don’t need a CDL for what I do for anyone reading this comment that’s not familiar with Walmarts yard driving positions where I’m at

      Typically it is 30 minutes for a state brake that Walmart does pay you for. It’s all different in different States. I’m on a 6/3. 5 nights in the the truck and the bonus is 210. Like John, I typically try to make miles on my go home day although, in most cases, I don’t make much on my day to head home. That is a drop in the bucket to me because I’m making a killing by working here. Last year, I made 15000 more than my last job I had. Wish I made a move to work here many years ago.

    • @walmartprofessionaldriver

      Technically it's split because by law if you're sleeping in the truck and away from home they have to pay you. So I got half of that for all the miles I drove and for all the miles he drove. So basically I got .61cpm for every mile I drove and 0 when I was sleeping. Same difference

    Does Walmart help pay for driving school to get a license? I'm in CA. Do you drive your own truck? Do you drive a truck issued to you from Walmart? Do you own your own truck, leasing, or renting? Do you take your truck home with you on days off? 2.5 years of experience needed, i guess they don't help with driving school.

    • @walmartprofessionaldriver
      @walmartprofessionaldriver  2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      No driving school and can't take the truck home. Company driver. Never lease from a carrier

    • @charliechuckleberry5307
      @charliechuckleberry5307 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@walmartprofessionaldriver What does "Never lease from a carrier" mean? I guess you are using Walmart owned trucks. right? So, the only costs are the gas/fuel for those trucks?
      I would have a problem if the Walmart trucks were cheap, and offered less comfort then driver owned trucks OTR.
      Do you drive the same truck for years? Do you share your truck with other people? Is your truck provide comparable comforts to other driver owned OTR trucks (for example: air conditioning unit when engine is turned off, APU i think it's called.)

    • @walmartprofessionaldriver
      @walmartprofessionaldriver  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@charliechuckleberry5307 Walmart trucks are top of the line most drivers have their own truck some share. Never lease from a carrier because they are terrible seals for the operator if you want your own truck get it from a dealer not a mega carrier. They are in it to screw you. Ask around, this is common knowledge amongst truckers

    • @charliechuckleberry5307
      @charliechuckleberry5307 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@walmartprofessionaldriver I would never "lease" a car. It never made sense to me, unless you had no choice. I believe people "lease" trucks because they don't have the "choice" to buy one from a dealership.
      However, I do know wealthy people that lease cars/trucks; and they make me cringe.
      I would love to have the choice to live in a truck, reduce costs (no apartment rent) and save tons of money for buying a home. I think living in a truck would require me to buy a truck. That is why I'm curious about it.

    • @walmartprofessionaldriver
      @walmartprofessionaldriver  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@charliechuckleberry5307 no its different. In fact California just made it illegal. Companies were giving drivers big money runs saying look you can afford this. Then after the lease is signed they give you crap runs and save the money runs to hook more drivers. Ol bait and switch. And you are under contract not independent contractor a lease from a dealership for a semi might not be terrible if you have the option to buy and the right to sell that option.
