I actually have this feature turned off. For me, I like to read books with an unbiased perspective. I feel like I would just highlight what other people highlight if I left that feature on, haha.
I gave up taking notes on my Kindle Oasis. You can add notes to your highlights on Readwise. You can then use a keyboard or dictate your notes. This really improved my note taking.
Wow, that's awesome. I'll have to give that a try! The only downside I see is you no longer have the ability to "capture" what you're thinking as you're reading. I always forget those ideas when I review my notes later (unless I wrote them down in a note).
I couldn’t agree more. Readwise is indeed an amazing service. I think it’s a bit pricey, but the improvement on retention is above and beyond. After some months using it, I see myself quoting books all the time, and really interiorizing the information I read.
I have a situation where i download EPUB file into my kindle. However when i highlight anything from there it does not goes into Readwise.. is that true?
This feature is already available on your kindle devices or even on the kindle app. You can send all of your highlights and notes to your email for free!

Very helpful. Something I like about Kindle is the subtle way it displays what other readers of the book have highlighted.

I believe that will send all of them at once, right? Readwise is great because it intentionally chooses 5 random highlights to show you each day!
Can you sync highlights of side loaded books or only from books purchased from Amazon?

You can take notes without internet, but they won't sync to cloud until you're connected.
