  • I had seen an artist named Brenda Pittman Leiner make beautiful Christmas ornaments on a Facebook group and had to try them myself. My method is slightly different, but I must give credit to her for the inspiration. Thank you, Brenda!

    Thank you so much for sharing your process! They're beautiful! D you think you could use polycrylic as a varnish??? oops... I see that was already answered. Your Christmas ribbon pour turned out simply gorgeous after the few blowouts💗

    These are just beautiful!! If you wouldn’t mind I’ve never used ready mixed paints, what would the consistency be for the paint if I was to mix my own? This looked pretty thick. Also how long will these need to dry before varnishing?

    • @ChrisJeszeck
      @ChrisJeszeck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say fairly thin, almost a Dutch pour consistency. Most of mine dried so fast, I varnished the next day!

    Beautiful! What kind of paint did you use for the base paint?

    • @ChrisJeszeck
      @ChrisJeszeck  ปีที่แล้ว

      I made this video last year...not sure but probably Artist's Loft Soft Body? Half and half with Floetrol and water to thin. 😊

    These are really nice! I’ll make some to hang on trees outside. And in case any of you haven’t looked -- the disc ornaments are on SALE!

      Oh boy! They weren't even a bad price to begin with! That's a lovely idea, for outdoor trees...

    • @margaret7620
      @margaret7620 2 ปีที่แล้ว

      Maybe you can get cheap plastic ornaments? Even if they’re already colored, you’re going to put on a white base coat and then pour over them, so that might work for you.

    Is the base coat thick or thin and do you mix the craft paint with floetrol or some other form of medium

    • @ChrisJeszeck
      @ChrisJeszeck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I would say it's medium! Half Floetrol, half paint and a little water. The colors were all ready mixed paints, straight from the bottle. Mixed paints would work too of course, as long as they're compatible with Floetrol.

    Is there a way to fix the paint if you don’t put enough paint on to completely cover the bulb?

    • @ChrisJeszeck
      @ChrisJeszeck  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      I imagine you could pour over the dried ornament, though I have not tried. They're so inexpensive, I tossed those I wasn't happy with! 😉

    Does your base coat have an additive? Couldn’t u spray the basecoat?

    • @ChrisJeszeck
      @ChrisJeszeck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I tried that and didn't care for the result. Much preferred the wet on wet application. Details in description box. Thanks for watching!

  • @kathyziegenmier4009
    @kathyziegenmier4009 2 ปีที่แล้ว

    Thank you for doing this. Any reason why you couldn’t do the white base coat ahead of time & add the colors another day? Will it matter if the base coat is already dry when adding the color?

    • @ChrisJeszeck
      @ChrisJeszeck  2 ปีที่แล้ว

      I think the colors probably flow better on a wet base? Not sure, though. If you try it, let me know! 😊

    What is the easiest way to remove acrylic paint off of a ornament if it doesn't look right or the paint gets funky

    • @ChrisJeszeck
      @ChrisJeszeck  ปีที่แล้ว

      I don't know Gloria! I suppose if it's still wet you could simply hose it off, but those I didn't like that dried, I tossed. I figured they were inexpensive enough to dispose of. 😉

    What consistency do you find better for doing these a thin or warm honey consistency

    • @ChrisJeszeck
      @ChrisJeszeck  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      I used ready mixed paints so I didn't have to mess with consistency, but I would say thinner than warm honey. 😉

      Well, it depends on your area and type of event. I didn't make mine to sell but I don't think I could/would ask more than $5. Good luck with your craft fair Kim!
