As a product design engineer this deeply concerns me. In my profession we live and breathe plastics. I have recently been made aware of the effects of endocrine disrupting compounds on society and want to make better, more informed decisions in the product design process, to avoid exposing people to EDCs. Is there any literature aimed at professionals for making better material choices?

The latest news and research is posted on our EDCs page (bit.ly/3F6KED3). Our team can also be directly contacted at advocacy@endocrine.org for additional information.

"Image if we read labels that said EDC free, that would be a meaningful label". Definitely more research is needed on the harmful affects of plastics that are in literally every food and drink and even the animals and plants we eat! More people need to know about this

This is why we urgently need to stop using artificial turf in schools and child care settings. Microplastics from artificial grass and its infill are damaging human health and the environment.

    Can UV light kill edc?

No. It is impossible to destroy these chemicals with UV light because they are engineered with science to resist UV light. Most endocrine disrupting chemicals are specifically added to plastic for their UV-resisting properties.
What you are asking is similar to asking if it is possible to wash the paint off a car with water
