@Nathie - The "Steam Link Passthrough" section doesn't talk about passthrough, it only talks about an easier way to get to the Quest menu by tapping the side of the headset

This is not correct, Steam Link doesn't connect via a Router. The headset goes dead when you open a game after giving an error about being connected via a router.
@@adamthomas9001 Send it back. I've stopped trying to use VR for anything. I'm not paying $1,000 or $3,000 for less quality than my 8k display which I currently run at 4k since their isn't a game out there that uses 8k textures. However all these VR headsets are 2k each eye at best.

have a problem, i followed all the steps but every time I boot steam vr, and steam link, as soon as I'm in, the graphics look like meter big pixels, whenever i turn, it takes a couple of seconds to catch up. sometimes it doesn't realise that my meta quest 3s has controllers, sometimes it doesn't load the steam menu and, to round it off, any game, including home, down right crashes the bloody system.

So, Nathie - Why DOESN'T this work over a Wifi Mesh system? I have a 1200Mbps Wifi Mesh system around my house with faster speeds than a network cable with similar ping. So - Why is SteamLink not able to connect to my PC through this? It can connect in my room using the node network-cable'd to my PC, but not the node downstairs which can see the same PC.

I've run into a small but gamebreaking issue: Steamlink and steamvr have been working flawlessly for months, but suddenly im now unable to play anything. For the first minute of booting up steamvr and hopping into a game, everything is perfectly stable, before suddenly everything starts breaking, with the in-headset display flashing the steamvr loading icon before just giving me and error message the my headset is not found, meanwhile the game on my pc is perfectly fine, with absolutely no errors. The only thing i could mention for why this happened is because i switched from a quest 2 to a quest 3, but i did go back in with the 2 and had the same issue. Sorry for the long comment, but it has caused me to essentially waste $100+ on games I can't play anymore.

Steam vr is accessible with a cable yes. You need to get the oculus application and go through steam vr there. Hope this helps months later

You will be fine I used to run blade and sorcery on an rx580 with 16gb of ram and a 7th gen i5 just fine

My thought is the space on my PC is greater than my quest 3. To me the headset is just a piece of hardware
