I totally understand where you and a lot of people are coming from with the sound of this album! Personally speaking though it's one of my favourite releses ever from them - I absolutely LOVE these types of highly conceptual songs, songs that seem to tell a story by vibes alone, and the fact that almost the entire album is Like That just adds to this theatrical vibe. That said, One Kiss is a strong number 2 after Knock Knock, that melody in the chorus is soooo satisfying to listen to!!!
I love One Kiss! It’s a great twerking song for me lol I definitely feel like they stuck to the creepy vibes… it’s a cohesive no skip album, but still not one of their best in my opinion.
My views are the same and for me it's like they made zoom into 6 different songs with a dash of psycho and feel my rhythm so.. I'm glad I have underwater :)
Literally what I’ve been thinking toooo like they all feel like zoom which is a bit generic for me… :p missing either the rnb influences of the velvet side or the eclectic creativity of red so they just end up kinda one-note

Literally so glad we finally get their 3rd full, the concept is incredible, I love the title and the bsides are amazing but I feel like it's not on par with their other albums....?? It's kinda like the Russian Roulette and Queendom EPs to me, which were not bad at all, but just felt more generic than what they did before. Like you said, they put the bar so high that they gotta reach that bar everytime lmaooo Well still, my favs are definitely One Kiss, Bulldozer & Underwater! However, in an overall ranking with their other bsides, I really don't know if they would be high you know
Honestly speaking without any hatred: this album's not for me. The Perfect Velvet still remains their best album, personally speaking. There's lots of "Psycho" siblings in this album that I feel like Red Velvet's starting to develop another "side" aside from the Red and the Velvet sides: Psycho side. LOL. It's this dark, heavy, Halloween-esque, and playful sound that fits the winter holiday vibe. I was a bit let down considering I've been so excited for this album, and since it's their first album after 6 long years. BUT STILL, I can say that this album is well produced. Unlike you, however, I enjoyed "Will I Ever See You Again," since it gave me "Body Talk" vibes, which is this transcendent, larger-than-life, almost ethereal feeling of nostalgia and longing idk how to explain it lol. I love Body Talk. It's my 2nd most favorite RV song after Kingdom Come. Best: Underwater, Will I Ever See You Again, Wings, Scenery OK: Chill Kill, Nightmare, Iced Coffee Skip: Knock Knock, One Kiss, Bulldozer

To be honest, for Reveluvs that like Red Velvet's "red" side, idk if this album is for them. Although I'm loving the b-sides in this album, I think it was a little lacking overall. I'm used to the weird and complex Red Velvet songs and this album is not exactly that. BUT again, I am loving this album as I prefer their "velvet" and "red velvet" songs. I could go feral for Underwater. To me, it looks like they were a little more focused on showcasing their vocals(?) which I honestly cannot complain about because they can scream in my face any day and I'll love it. The bridges in this album ... ahhh Red Velvet just won't have a bad bridge. But yea I can definitely see why Reveluvs prefer The Red or The Perfect Red Velvet because those albums were just sooooo Red Velvet.
