@@gregoryford2532 I first saw Infernities in the 5d's manga, and it always struck me as a deck that could only work for a Yugioh protaganist. A fun thing with archetype naming is that even beyond "except frog the jam" and "this can include ojamuscle" situations you get situations where battleguards count as barian cards because they're barbarians in the OCG and how hundred eyes had to be erratad to not have a hyphen because it counted as a red-eyes card. Then you get cards like raiders wing where they just don't even try and just say it's counted as part of its archetypes on the card which is admittedly a better solution than performapal odd-eyes synchron.

Silly bit of trivia: Hundred Eyes Dragon was originally printed as 'Hundred-Eyes Dragon'. The hyphen had to be replaced by a space when people realised that it would make it a 'Red-Eyes' card for the purpose of the Red-Eyes Black Dragon archetype.
Yo, i'm down for another episode or two of the Shining darkness format before Frog FTK ruins everything. They should really play infernity with triple barried and 1 break
"lol he should have set his monsters!" MBT's problem wasn't emptying his hand, it was that he never got to resolve the main combo due to bad draws and having his graveyard nuked.
Infernity is like peak 5Ds archetype design in that they're a bunch of cards that look kinda cool but have almost zero aesthetic consistency lol. I love them so much.
The issue with X-Sabers before TSHD was that they didn’t have enough NON-Tuners Cimo. The deck had plenty of great Tuners, but nothing good besides Emmersblade and Faultroll (which needed set-up to summon) to synch with them. Boggart Knight and Darksoul were the remedy.
1. Can you do a video covering the tier 0 formats? 2. Can you do a game of modern Yugioh with everything at 3? I don't thing some cards are as busted as people think!
You are able to search "XX-Saber" monsters when searching for an "X-Saber" because it still has "X-Saber" in the name. It's like D/D/D and D/D, you can search a D/D/D when searching for a D/D using Dark Contract with the Gate because it says "D/D" and "D/D/D" still has "D/D" in the name, but you can't revive a D/D using D/D/D Oblivion King Abyss Ragnarok because it says "D/D/D".
Cimo: "Rescue Cat is now a 1 card normal summon that makes a 6 star Synchro and searches a monster at the end phase... I'll explain why that's good later."
When infernities were popular, were players allowed to ask a judge to check if the infernity backrow were confirmed all spell/traps? I heard people cheated by setting monsters in the s/t zones
I love how after MBT using Doom Dragon with a card in hand and Como setting backrow after playing cold wave, Joseph said "let's make sure I'm not cheating"
It is so fitting D.D. Crow ended up being given the cover card monster is Black-Winged Dragon, who is supposedly the Blackwing' Boss monster according to anime lore

[Spoiler] 41:00 I don't understand why Joseph threw away his win by not attacking the Emmersblade. He was so scared by the face down that he just didn't go in lol
I don't know why he attacked with Archfiend instead of faultroll when archfiend and gottoms both could have killed cimo and its pretty obvious from last duel that none of the x sabers have high defense. The worst it could be is emmersblade which you just run over 3 times. If he had played optimally and gone weakest monster into the def position one, he won the duel.
Older cards didn't use the word "target" to specify that they target. That was changed around the time PSCT came around I believe. For example, both Ragigura and Necromancer target.
God this takes me back to high school where once infernities became a thing, the entire schoolyard meta just completely warped around it. I just remember infernity decks just dumping like 100 monsters on the field at once. It was an awful time when the infernity player would get triple mist wurm on you in one turn and you couldn't do anything to stop it. (High school me didn't know the power of d.d. crow, ffs I was unironically running stumbling in my main deck. I wasn't good at yugioh)
Also, if that Infernity list had played 40 cards then you could argue that Joseph would've seen all those game winning cards one turn sooner to actually win the game with them. What a shame
MBT missplayed by not cheating and setting his monsters in the spell and trap card zone

"lol he should have set his monsters!" MBT's problem wasn't emptying his hand, it was that he never got to resolve the main combo due to bad draws and having his graveyard nuked.
@@gregoryford2532 setting monsters doesn't help if you don't draw any of the combo starters to take advantage of that empty hand.
Ignore clowns who say that garbage. Every time Infernity ever topped people insisted it was because of cheating. Because people hate the deck so much.
Dang cimo really did just pull off an anime protagonist moment otk’ing on 300 LIFE POINTS!!!!!!
We have reached the 2010s… dragon ruler format approaches…
Infernity is like peak 5Ds archetype design in that they're a bunch of cards that look kinda cool but have almost zero aesthetic consistency lol. I love them so much.
without being able to summon faultroll its pretty unlikely cimo wouldve taken game 1, repeat after me everyone "read your cards, read your cards"
wdym he could ve just made brio and gone for game. He just coudnt out the set but it was dead anyway
Prepared my popcorn to watch this beauty!
Edit: That Archfiend top deck was beautiful but not drawing the cards to win for like 5 turns was kinda sad
History of Yu-Gi-Oh! episode wins
Cimoooooooo: 28
MBT: 26
The issue with X-Sabers before TSHD was that they didn’t have enough NON-Tuners Cimo. The deck had plenty of great Tuners, but nothing good besides Emmersblade and Faultroll (which needed set-up to summon) to synch with them. Boggart Knight and Darksoul were the remedy.
Best Episode YET!
X-Saber is actually fire as hell. I've known about Infernity lol.
Infernity was always played by the kids that were always caught trying to cheat.
1. Can you do a video covering the tier 0 formats?
2. Can you do a game of modern Yugioh with everything at 3? I don't thing some cards are as busted as people think!
For game 3, Necromancer does in fact target, but it just has a colon in its syntax to make us think it's a PSCT card when it is in fact not.
Kepler adds a Dark Contract not a D/D
Sorry! I meant Dark Contract with the Gate. I'll change that now.
IIRC this is the set that gave X Sabers some great cards. So many good memories of those yugioh days.
At the 33:15 mark, cimoo couldn't have set his 2 spell cards, because he was under his own cold wave.
😂 As someone who has always played infernity I can feel your pain.
I heard people cheated by setting monsters in the s/t zones
the sack levels of cimoooooooo in this episode holy shit lol
It wasn't even that bad. He was holding out and lucked out that MBT didn't get what he needed.
if you wanna talk about sacking, MBT having 4 X Saber monsters on the field can also be considered as one
Cimo and MBT, Love you guys keep going!
I love how after MBT using Doom Dragon with a card in hand and Como setting backrow after playing cold wave, Joseph said "let's make sure I'm not cheating"
That was a sick 2 games
It is so fitting D.D. Crow ended up being given the cover card monster is Black-Winged Dragon, who is supposedly the Blackwing' Boss monster according to anime lore
0:21 (facedesk) Infernities weren't brand new when TSHD came out, they had cards already existing.
@@gregoryford2532 I know that, but the archetype still existed prior to TSHD, it just wasn’t a full-fledged deck till then.
Cimo really hit MBT with the “gg, we both played bad” lmao
33:11 wasn't Cimo under his own cold wave? Or is that not how the card works since I don't see anyone else in the comments mentioning this.
What are you talking about? He activated cold wave like 4 turns prior to that timestamp and it was negated by Barrier.
My brain is absolutely poisoned by the internet. I thought the patreon he shouted out was n word shell and had to go back and listen again.
9:05 "This card is just a monster" Well can't argue with that :P
Cimo coming in clutch from the grave with that cat
Cimo once again shows he's an anime protagonist by OTKing MBT after surviving for what felt like hours at 300.
man these X saber mirror matches where great ;)
I'm going to beat that Cimo forgets to resolve Dark Soul at least twice...
Well he didn't forget, but he revive FaulTroll :/
Honestly i am sad to see edison format leave but it left on such a high note im glad it happened that way and didnt just slowly slide into the swamp
THAT BEING SAID MORE EDISON SIDE SERIES WHEN!?!?!??!
[Spoiler]
41:00 I don't understand why Joseph threw away his win by not attacking the Emmersblade.
Tele-DAD was the first thing that made me leave... _this_ is the first thing that made not _not return._
Has Cimo ever NOT played a deck that mains DD Crow?
God this takes me back to high school where once infernities became a thing, the entire schoolyard meta just completely warped around it. I just remember infernity decks just dumping like 100 monsters on the field at once. It was an awful time when the infernity player would get triple mist wurm on you in one turn and you couldn't do anything to stop it. (High school me didn't know the power of d.d. crow, ffs I was unironically running stumbling in my main deck. I wasn't good at yugioh)
You definitely can't summon faultless off of emergency call and I'm pretty sure that would have changed game 2
Also, if that Infernity list had played 40 cards then you could argue that Joseph would've seen all those game winning cards one turn sooner to actually win the game with them. What a shame
Faultroll can't be summoned by Gottoms' Emergency Call, Cimo should've lost game 1.
This is one of the craziest comebacks
