    What about 'gei si hau' and can you explain the sentence order that it should go into?

    • @DopeCantonese
      @DopeCantonese  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Do you mean ".....ge3 si4 hau6"? it means "When", for example, When I was a kid, I liked eating icecream.
      我细个嘅时候,好钟意食雪糕
      ngo5 sai3 go3 ge3 si4 hau6, hou2 zung1 ji3 sik6 syut3 gou1
      "ge3 si4 hau6" is a little bit formal.
      Normally we could use"嗰阵go2 zan6"
      我细个嗰阵,好钟意食雪糕。
      ngo5 sai3 go3 go2 zan6, hou2 zung1 ji3 sik6 syut3 gou1

    How come you mix traditional and simplifed characters together? I love your lesson but the reading is hard to follow

    • @DopeCantonese
      @DopeCantonese  3 ปีที่แล้ว +3

      thank you. I just use Simplified characters on this video. In mainland China, we use simplified characters. some simplified characters are simplified from traditional characters to erase illiteracy. But those which have already been simple are still used. But some characters don't normally use in Mandarin in present society but only for some dialects. That's why some characters in Cantonese dont have that font.
      Hope it could make sense for you.😊
