  • The worst part about washing your RV or motor coach is drying it. So I had to try out the CR Spotless Water System on our Tiffin Allegro Bus 45LP and see if that would solve my issue of needing to dry it. How did it work? Let's just say I now can not be without one!

    Where i live in CA, we have hard water (minerals in the water) that cause ALL kinds of trouble with build up and water spots. These DI systems will aid in keeping the value of your coach up.

    Hi David, I sure enjoy your channel, I was wondering if you use some type of wax to protect the finish after washing?

    Hi David, I looked on Amazon and it has 2 lambs wool pads that attach to poles. One is Mary Moppins and the other is Shurhold. Which one do you recommend?

    Thanks for the great video, been thinking about getting one of these, do you have a water softener system as well?

    • @DavidBott

      smacdiesel Hi...Yes. We use the On The Go water softener and would not be without one for our coach. But we do not use it before the CR Spotless system as it would drop the pressure too much. :) On our blog page there is a 10% discount code good until June 9th 2015 for the CR Spotless System. Code = OOB15

    Hey David. Have you found a places to wash your RV outside of parks that don't allow it? Do you just wait til you land in a park that allows washing? Just ordered the Simple Chuck and a pressure washer. Thanks for all your vids

      Hi...I am not 100% sure on what you are asking. We have not gone "looking" for places to wash the coach. If we can do it in the park, we do. We have never really had an issue. Some parks ask for like $5 or something. I have also however plumbed water that can be taken from out tank to feed the pressure washer. I put in a T connector into a cold water line and small hose line to be able to reach the pressure washer. As such, I can wash the coach anywhere, even at a rest stop. When running the pressure washer it will use the water from the tank, thus the water pump in the coach turns on to feed that water to the pressure washer. I need to run the generator however when doing this as the pressure washer pulls a lot of power. :) But then you could always..."Oh my..I am so sorry, I missed that in the rules." ... if needed. (Unless told at the desk at check in which usually never happens.)

    Thanks for this video. How often do you wash the top?

      @DavidBott  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      T1a2b Surely not as often. :) But I do wash it from time to time. Mostly that depends on where we have been etc.

    question. when your wife was first wetting down the rv did she use the filtered water system. I know u did final rinse with it.

    • @DavidBott
      @DavidBott  8 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      +vegasdavetv Hi...No. It was wet down with standard hose water. Only rinse with the Di water. This will save the resin in the Di filters.

  • @vegasdavetv

    also how many full rv washes do u get on that system before replacing anything

    • @DavidBott
      @DavidBott  8 ปีที่แล้ว

      +vegasdavetv That greatly depends on the area of the country you are in. In upstage NY, about 9. But if you are in say AZ, well, 3???? It all comes down to how hard the water is.

    Thanks for the info David,
    I was on the company website - am I to assume that the model you have can produce @ 300 gallons of rinse water based on the quality that is fed into the filters?
    It seems pricey to replace the resin/filters.......
    I sure would like a solution for rinsing our coach! I dread the chamois "event" that follows washing ours at home because we have well water that is very hard and high iron content.
    Any guess how many gallons it would take to rinse your Tiffin?
    Thanks
    Adam

      Adamsusan Hunter Hi...Yes, it is price shock for sure. But when I ran the numbers, in the end, it will end up costing me $9 per wash based on the area we are in currently. I expect about 12 to 15 washes out of this CR20, 300 gallon apx, unit before refill. Refill is $90. Even if I get only 10 washes, that is still $9 a wash. I would pay $80 to $120 just to have someone else wash it. And you know what, I do a better job and they also just use De-ionized water to rinse it at the end so they do not need to dry it. This is why I said it would end up paying for itself over time.

    Hi David, Just wondering about the space that this machine takes up in your basement. Do you find that it eats up a lot of space?

      Hi...I do not carry that one with me. I also have the small version that i carry in the coach when traveling.

    Isn't this basically a water softener that you can't regenerate thus you have to replace the resin or is it something different?
    Let me answer my own question based on what I just found out. It's not the same. DI takes out everything but a softener only takes some of the solids out so it can still leave spots although not as many raw water from the tap.

    • @DavidBott
      @DavidBott  9 ปีที่แล้ว

      timon0x31 Hi...I can see why you would think this, however it is a totally different resin and what that resin hold on to that was in the water. Where at water softener will get some minerals, the other is a water de-ionizer . DI uses a two-stage process to remove virtually all ionic material remaining in water. Two types of synthetic resins are used, one to remove positively charged ions (cations) and another to remove negatively charged ions (anions). Then end result is more or less nothing in your water, just all H2O....thus no spots.
