As someone who has annoyed family for decades by whistling along with music I love, I think Molly is gifted beyond words. There's just something that sends my spirit soaring to join along in whistle with classical music, church music, or really anything uplifting. I even have a parrot, one of the lesser-talented in talking, that I have taught a number of whistles. Break a leg, Molly!
heard Molly's story on NPR this week while driving home from work (where I do NOT whistle), and was absolutely captivated. You go, Molly! God's given you a great gift to upflift spirits and make people happy (and amazed). Pucker up and blow, honey!
When I was a girl I didn’t want to eat the nearly burnt crust from the over baked homemade bread. My grandmother told me if I did someday I’d be able to whistle- I too can whistle any tune! Years later as a mother of 4, I would call my children in from play to our house in the woods by whistling a special tune that I call them with. I adore this segment! And am amazed by her talent! I read once a statistic that only 1 in 9 women can whistle. This lovely lady certainly is talented. Oddly my children know that I go nowhere with my chapstick either and tease me about it!😗👍😊🌸
One of Sunday Mornings very unique segments, you just never know what you're going to hear (or discover) until you click the play button. Thank you CBS Sunday Morning.
My dad had the most beautiful whistle but after his stroke, he lost the ability due his paralysis. So now, when I hear someone whistle well, it brings back happy memories.
I can sing and I used to whistle when I was younger, what she does is magical and amazing she has a gift that most of us don’t ,to be on tune when you whistle is much more difficult then to be on tune when you sing period. You have to control all this different muscles on your face in order to do it right she does it effortless wooow
Wow! I’m so grateful to you… My best and most heartfelt memories of my grandpa are of him whistling, like always, anytime, anywhere and especially in the car on road trips. 💖
I thought I detected a teeny tiny bit of flirting here and there but she is totally enchanting so it's understandable... what a phenomenal talent. I'm jealous, I only whistle when I laugh..😂
I remember the show "Lassie"....that themesong allways got to me... It just souned so sad.... Then there is "The Good The Bad and The Ugly" ...waw..waw.waw !!!🎵
It comes, at least for me, from hearing songs from birds, the winds, gales, at times, call and response to mockingbirds, so lovely, here in Virginia. Atlantic waters where the Sun rises, Tidewater Country. Blue Crabs, Rockfish, etc... Chesapeake Bay. Preserve, please. 😊k
Whistling in the right context is wonderful, other times not so much. I worked in a bank, and a older gentleman would come in whistling, and it was beautiful, but after three minutes of that. We just wanted him to SHUT UP, ALREADY! Hahaha 😂
Amazing, so soothing & magnetic. Is she the creator of that familiar tune she whistles (when she's wearing white suit w/ rhinestone collar?). I thought it was from an old movie but she does it so good, now I'm not sure.
@@MPam1619 You are correct. My ears really perked up when I heard that. He's my favorite since childhood. It's from a british thriller called "Twisted Nerve." ! A grown-up Hayley Mills ! movie.
Oh WOW I am in LOVE! And no, not lust you naughty lot, I know the difference and I feel LOVE for this woman. **The Whistler.** Her smile is like the sunrise over a mountain stream ... It glistens with each droplet of pure trickling water, it shines and gives me warmth which could last a lifetime. Her eyes are as the Northern Lights are in the black of the sky. They bring a splash of colour and light up my heart. They create colours all of their own. Colours that can not be replicated, not by an artists palette, nor by nature. I could love this lady over a thousand mornings, for a thousand sunsets, under a million stars... ..all of them shining, just for you, Molly. Shining, just, for you.
Can anyone help me, one night on television maybe 30 years ago, I saw a movie which was like a western, set in Mexico in the late 1800's I think, or south America, there was a rich family which had a daughter who could whistle a classical sonata of some sort. Anyone know what that movie was? What the music was?
This reminds me of a Boss that I had from years ago. Johnny's favorite tune to whistle was the first two bars of Brenda Lee's, "Every Beat of My Heart" and in PERFECT PITCH!
So good! There have been many great whistlers, and she deserves her place among them. My favorite is the late Ron McCroby, seen here on Johnny Carson’s Tonight Show: th-cam.com/video/baEoyXoDVc4/w-d-xo.html
You are taking "whistle while you work" to an entirely new level, Molly. You are amazing!
Such a cool and unique way for musicality to manifest itself in someone. She's truly gifted. As someone who never could whistle, I stand in awe. 🧡
How can I whistle like her?
@@leif1075 this is Very Hard, maybe You must Very Long training And any body songs.

U cant play an instrument to accompany you when u r alone? U whistle. This lady made it an art.
No just a whistler, but THE Whistler! Love her.
Wow what a wonderful talent. I can't whistle worth a darn. I admire her for her musical ability.

My kindred spirit! I love to whistle too! I’m so happy I found out about you, dear Molly!
I can sing yet not pitch perfect, yet I cannot whistle much at all. GO Molly! What a gift for all x!
This is just fantabulous, I can whistle, but this is such a talent and so splendid to behold, LOVE IT =---> =----> =--l->
Strange Fruit is a cool piece of music - I really like what she does and what a lovely person she seems to be.
This is definitely a greater appreciation for the ears than most music that vomited into society for the last 25-30yrs.

Molly did we meet in 2012 at the Competition in Louisburg
Bravo I love the whistle it gives a lighter way of the interpretation thank you for this performance musically +1+1

Definite talent. Great!
Fascinating.
It's interesting to watch what Molly is doing with her hands while she whistles, there's a lot of expression in her hand gestures.
Absolutely lovely and completely charming woman, she made a fan out of me and I bought her EP! Give us an album Molly!
Molly is the whistler in the Barbie movie, during the end credits, in a version of Billie's song, What Was I Made For?
I HATE whistling, but when you do it right... 💜👽
Her whistling is very impressive!!!!!!
Lovely girl, lovely story.
I looked her up after the screaming guy in the sky song. I was hoping she made her own music, and I'm so glad to have found out that she does!
I’m love to whistle too.
I’ve heard it referred to as as “playing the puckalo “.
Me too,....I have heard it called that too. Sometimes orchestras will have a part for a whistler.
Such a beautiful & talented way to produce music.
I’m an expert whistler too. One of my friends once asked how I produce whole-and-half-tone trills. I said it’s all in the tongue. He said, lucky wife!
I wonder how many people go up to her and start going, 'AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHHHHH AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH AHHHHHH HAAAAA AHHHH AAHHHHHHHHHHHH ..."
Wow wonderful report!
Ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh, ahhhhhhhhhhhhh, ahhhhhhhh
Big Enough brought me here
Molly can whistle Abblasen, the CBS News Sunday Morning theme song.
such a lovely nona
Unbelievable. Finally, respect for whistling. My father was an excellent whistler, and I picked it up from him. My daughter whistles, as well.

I’m one with you girl, a fellow whistler, and after a few recordings, realizing you’re really good, you then have to face the weirdness factor.
I never forget whistle songs like "Bridge over the River Kwai" to "Flo Rida". Awesome.
Juan and I whistle while working. I'm gonna have to zonk myself for doing that, because I want to get busy that way I don't get behind

Toot Thielman. Ron McCroby. I hope she knows about these Master Whistlers!

Can she sing as well as whistle?

Lee Cowan whistles better than I do. (I'm one of the few folks who cannot whistle.)
Harpo Marx, of Marx Brother's fame, was a skilled whistler.
